sorry to be so offtopic but does any of you know of a way to get back into an Instagram account?? I somehow forgot the login password. I love any tips you can offer me
@Saul Jase Thanks for your reply. I found the site thru google and Im in the hacking process atm. Looks like it's gonna take a while so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
I found it much more useful listening to the waves individually rather than blended. While certain waves of several modules can sound identical, the sine wave for instance can sound very different.
Great comparison! I liked the Erica Synths Polivoks and Verbos Foundation VCO the best. Would be great to see a comparison between new VCO of 2021-22 like Brenso, Odessa, Saich, and Mindphaser.
Yea, most oscillators sounds pretty similar when you listen to them raw! I'd like to see a demo of the vco maximus sub out without all the other outputs mixed - I understand you can get some nice stepped wave combinations.
Interesting! ACL stands out for me. Then Verbos for its fatness and Grp for its fuzziness. Some are worse than I'd have thought, like NTO, 3340 or 4027 - all sounding thin and unusual or FC XVCO sounding harsh.
Yeah… I stumbled across ACL for the first time at the weekend, the videos of their systems blew my tiny mind. I keep looking at my kids and wondering how much I’d get for them. 😁
Hi John!! I was about to get dannysound timbre but as also need an extra osc been thinking if its worth to buy the Verbos Foundation. Do you like it ? or is worth to have a full wavefolder module in the system (sound wise would give more possibilities ?) I had the Ts L and didnt like the wavefolder much.
Anything by Verbos is good. Wrt having a wavefolder, it depends on what else you have in the system. If you have other modules that will create complex timbres out of simple waveforms (even distortion or drive), you can live without it for a while. You will need one eventually, though. They really do amazing things when you hit their sweet spots. I've done a bunch of wavefolder comparisons: ru-vid.com/group/PLm4FlogANMcg4-KOqf15A6-MMVyI7y37R
Just curious, why did you sum the waveforms for each module? There's a lot of phase cancellation and different waveforms are different voltages. (Also the NTO is +/-5V, the STO is +/-10V or 12V, so hotter modules might be more "preferred".)
In an earlier VCO comparison I found that in many cases the solo waveforms were so similar it was hard to really hear the difference in character between the modules. Mixing them together, which is common when creating new sounds, seems to allow for more of the individual character of each VCO to come out.
hey man! I ve just bought the Thomas Henry 555 vco, pcb and fron panel.. just seen that you have the x-4046 wich lokos very similar. Any reason you havent built the 555 and could you tell the differences? many thanks
serge sounds very clear! E300 and mini mod sounds very fat love these 2.. Slight volume differences , at least percieved loudness between some units! great job man, more like this, very very apprciated
I miss getting to hear the more interesting features of oscillators such as the NTO, portamento, VC waveshaping, Linear FM, etc. etc. mixing waveshapes is like squeezing 3 different colored paints mixed together..
