Well, what's the alternative? CV90 is just as old, Puma wasn't out of development at the time and the british have no company that could provide a indigenous solution.
Bae would be more than capable of producing an indigenous solution if they where given a consistent requirement from the British government but they change their mind every 10 mins. As a result we now have no domestic armoured vehicle design and manufacturing worth talking about.
