One of the most epic opening flag ceremonies ever! The singer you didn't know is Ilanit, she was the first ever Israeli entrant for Eurovision and she sang the song she came 4th with in 1973 🙂
I was totally excited once I heard the opening strains of the late Ofra Haza, former Eurovision representative (1983), and her vocals for her worldwide hit "Im Nin' Alu" which is a Jeweish-Yemenite poem as the plane made it's way into the arena!
Lovely as always Jake! Since you didn't know who Ilanit was, I think this calls for a reaction video of the 1973 Israeli entry... (maybe a series of reactions for every country's first entry??)
This for me is truly the best opening this decade. Everything about it is amazing! Even though it's hard to admit as a German that it's even better than 2011 in dusseldorf, Israel did an amaaaaazing job!
One of the most beautiful opening ceremonies! The singer you didn't recognize was Ilanit, the first Israeli participant in 1973 (4th place), with Ey sham, which she sang. She participated again in the first ESC I ever watched, 1977, where she got 11th.
@@JakesFaceReacts yes, but did you know, that it was a show act in between? I don't think, anybody had seen that show before that esc show act. as far as I know.
Dude I was there seeing it live and I really thought about you. You should have been there too it was amazing. What you see on TV is so much smaller than what is going on on stage not to mention the crazy vibes. I should send you the videos I took as I had an amazing view
Great opening overall! Netta should be a pilot on the side haha. Israel didn't disappoint this year with honoring all four of their Eurovision winners throughout the three shows, as well as artists (Ilanit , Israel's first Eurovision contestant in 1973 and Nadav Guedj who both performed in this opening). The artists going through an airport idea was pretty cool. Their country's flags were the little wand things that were being waved like a toy when they entered and then they were projected up top.
That lady is Ilanit, she was a big star in Israel at 70's-80's and the first Israel's first representative of Eurovision , my mom loved her so much that I was named after her ♥
That is the cutest dog ever!! She is so beautiful!! Bless her!! and it's really good you had a few before making this video - it does help! Good video! really liked it, and big kisses to Gabbi! ;-)
Welcome to the Eurovision fam, Gabby! Wish they had used Nadav/milked the "let me show you Tel Aviv" bit more throughout this season, but happy they used it to open the GF.
they also had the previous winners. the guy who won in '78 was the one who gave the votes from Israel during the voting. and the lady who won in '79 was part of the switch song with conchita, mans, eleni and verka. and of course dana who also appeared in the semi final right?
Georgia Papadopoulou I do know that Dana was the interval act for SF1. I was disappointed that she did a Bruno Mars cover. She’s a legend in her own right.✌️💚
Thanks a lot for the great response, dear Jake. Do you know the Opening Ceremony 2011 in Düsseldorf? Unbelievable and completely unexpected. In my opinion new standards have been set for all subsequent openers.
I'm up for Gabby's Face Reacts, she has some quality facial reactions. "Don't be scared, only people all over the world will see you." [Gabby subtly raises one eyebrow.]
I know this has nothing to do with this years Eurovision, but could you PLEASE react to Malta Eurovision 2005????!?!????!!!!? 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏 (you wont regret it!!!)
I don't understand the logic behind some greetings for countries For example Maltese announcement was "Merhaba Malta" (Turkish) but some were correct like "Dobro Došli Serbia" (Serbian)
