I watched with non fans, they didn't like all the screaming songs - really did not like Ireland - and really did not like UK - thought it was sleezy. someone messaged me to ask why I watch this dirge...Most liked France, Isreal, and Latvia

That’s a good point! There were a lot of ‘loud’ songs this year and maybe people appreciated the more quieter ones 😂

I voted for Gåte multiple times and I’m glad I did Cause they only got 4 televote points, 3 of which come from Ukraine (my country) So I’m pretty sure I contributed to their points, even though there weren’t many 😭

Israeli singer interviewed by Sky News (TikTok) Q: “There’s been a lot of backstage drama with other contestants. What’s it been like backstage?” E: “I’ve been sending good vibes. I’ve been focusing on spreading love and spreading good energy and getting to know everyone. Rest of contestants: 🤷‍♂️

Hi. No complains about the results, except Norway's last place. And I would prefer Zorra at the middle rank. Really prefer Nemo over BL. Ukraine was great as usual. Isaak and Eden Golan surprised me in a positive way, despite I didn't like so much their songs. Ladaniva was better than I expected. And the wiccan goth boy in me loved Bambie Thug.

It is nice it's over with now to be honest but I'm also looking ahead to 2025. We had quite different reactions to the UK's score - I said in my video 'it could be zero points' just before it happened! The song just didn't stand out enough.

2nd year in a row the jury decides who wins and not the people. Jury voting is fairly new and needs to be reviewed, either abolished or heavily diminished. 1997-2008 when televoting was introduced there was ONLY people votes and no juries. We need to restore the original format. Finland 2023, Croatia 2024 winners.
@oscarfernald9402
@oscarfernald9402 4 месяца назад
@Zycoreination You have it backwards: the original format at Eurovision was juries only, for about forty years. So televoting is the ‘fairly new’ thing.
@Zycoreination
@Zycoreination 4 месяца назад
@@oscarfernald9402 Yes and no, jury voting was at first due to the lack of sufficient system to make public able to vote and also the lack of popularity among the general public across Europe as a whole with only a few countries really getting into the Eurovision spirit and nowhere near affordable or practical, in 1997 televoting was introduced because there was a solid voting system by phone able to be introduced, costs were manageable and a rise in popularity of the contest.

Hello Laura 🙂 i was waiting for this eurovision season very much , because as you remember back in January i mentioned that this Eurovision season for Lithuania is jubilee one , i'm a bit upset that Silvester Belt finished outside of top 10 best performances , i was expecting totally diffrent ending for Lithuania , also two biggest dissapoinments is that Netherlands was disqualified two days before the grand final and that Belgium as my main winner for this year didn't reach the finals at all 💔, one thing made me happy that Ukraine once again finished in top position as 3rd place , beautiful performance 🇺🇦💙💛 so that's all my thoughts about Eurovision 2024 🙂❤️

I am glad Nemo won. To me they had a better song, they were a better singer and had a better staging. BL had a better party entry but not a good song. To me it was a Rammstein copy without the sting but with an appeal to the masses. My winner was Norway. But getting last is also a way of a win or a statement.

Why did you skip Cyprus and Lithuania? Also, it’s annoying how those ‘jury bait’ songs end up in better places than the ones that people placed way higher. Portugal, Luxembourg and Germany barely got points from the public and are higher middle only because of the juries

Sorry! I forgot to mention Estonia too 😂 I think I was just focussing on the results that stood out the most in some way

So, let’s say, Portugal didn’t deserve higher? The televotes were extremely centered around a low number og songs. Like 15 of the songs got less than 50 points from the televotes. Meaning the televotes have little love for 3/5 of the songs. The juries did a good job in giving those songs credit. The televotes didn’t…

@@OsuMelon I did say allegedly but people pointed out that VPNs are a thing and can fool people into voting from somewhere you're not and there has been some talk of the embassies handing out SIM cards. @OsuMelon
@OsuMelon 4 месяца назад
@@EmoBearRights so it's acceptable to pedal any conspiracy theory as long as you preface it with "allegedly", interesting!. VPNs would have no impact, voting is determined by your SIM/phone number location. you clearly have no idea about how this works if you think a VPN would work, so why even make the comment? this is climate change denial level of discourse.. "some talk" as in morons on twitter making things up? any actual proof from a reputable news agency, or literally any picture/video source? instead of reaching to ridiculous things like "weaponisation of the diaspora," perhaps you could consider the rational thing, that maybe it was actually a good song that people liked, and most people don't live in some weird israel hating echo chamber, despite what a vocal minority might say. shocking i know!

I'm happy you had a good time ! At least it's good to hear I'm not alone in the corner that thinks a song like Ulveham ending last is not just disappointing but pretty bad for the contest. For me it was one of the most disappointing ESCs overall, both in the cloud that did hang above it, but also in results. I'm used to disappointment in Eurovision fans because my music taste is quite different most of the time, but this year I really have to look for something positive in the results, both from juries and televote. Heck my top 3 came in bottom 6 of the televote ! That's just appaling. The only result highlight is the juries appreciating Portugal, but why aren't they appreciating Raiven or Gunnhild who have amazing voices too? Okay I think Gunnhild's didn't have her best performance, it felt a little off at the start, she sounded at her best at the Norwegian final I will admit. But still I'm so angry that juries are so inconsistent, they're supposed to rate vocals and staging, it doesn't feel like that anymore. I hope one day we will have juries that are bigger and have a broad musical knowledge and appreciation all over the board. I wished Croatia won because The Code literally does nothing for me, but I'm happy for Nemo nonetheless !

I was with your wanting Croatia to win over 🇨🇭 but I didnt mind 1 iota because I’ve been to Switzerland Geneva to be precise where they’ve already submitted a bid to host next year and that city is stunning and I’d love to go back there if possible but if it’s Bern, Basel, Zurich I’d be just as keen but will be very expensive as 🇨🇭 is very expensive. I’m with you on 🇬🇧 possible got overlooked by televoters like 🇳🇴 sandwiched in between Greece and Italy that did well and Slovenia, Austria & Georgia think they got overlooked because 🇸🇮 were in between the top 2 Switzerland and Croatia, Georgia going after Croatia and just before France and Austria after France who did very well with both jury and televoters explains everyone’s low mark. In terms of what 🇬🇧 does in 2025? Tricky one as ironically 18th for Olly Alexander is 6/7 places higher and overall nearly double the total of points overall compared to Mae Muller despite the 0 points from public one thing I’d say maybe different is artist may not be revealed as early as Olly was for this year mind you Slimane was earlier than him and look at how well he did so it’s a really tricky one but the BBC do have the incentive having been the host albeit for Ukraine that’s enough of an incentive to target but cracking the code is very tough as it is for everyone as you’ve got to every piece in order and that takes a lot of work which is underway for 2025. Id probably look at a rock group which you’ve cried out for for ages 2025 could be that time for the uk to try that as what’s the use in trying!

Also shocked Norway finished last. I liked it a lot and voted for it. Norway is one of my fave countries in ESC. Their '95 winner is my all time fave winner and I'm still sad how the juries crushed them in 2019. I hope they keep sending authentic and brave entries. Would have preferred Baby Lasagna take the win. Watching it on TV feels like watching a rock concert just how crazy the energy is. Love how colorful the performance is and seeing the entire arena move their phones in sync with Lasagna gives me goosebumps everytime I watch it. As for Olly, the song is rather uninteresting, the vocals while they were in the cube sounded weak and then some of the people I discussed with were also put off by the sexual nature of the performance. I think they had a great staging concept, but ruined it with how far they decided to go with the provocative choreo. My fave track is still Greece, but it just didn't translate that well on the stage. Still, good result for Greece.
