Sooooo, my motherland is The Netherlands😅. Born and raised there until 23, and I do like our entry. BUT, I completely understand and respect that you don't. First of all, because I had to digest it too at first. And secondly because in my opinion, to apreciate the song you need 4 ingredients that only Dutch people have: know Joost's story, have grown up with "gabbers" and "hakkuh", have understand Dutch humor and most importantly, speak Dutch. We identify with it and understand the other layers because of this, so I think it's perfectly logical that any other country is like WTF??? And I sincerily think it's ridiculous that some of my patriots are reacting so extreme and agressive and I apolagize for that 💖. Do people really think that everyone around the world is going to google Joost's story and translate the lyrics of EVERY song on the final night???? Come on, we all know that that's stupid to think. And then there is my homeland, Spain (no, not the Canary Islands 😜), more than half of my life, 25 years to be exact, living here, a Spanish husband, 3 Spanish kids, fluent in Spanish and the only Dutch person in a circle of 75km, I suppose I might claim it's my homeland now😉. And sorry, but I don't like our entry for Eurovision. Do I sing it from the top of my lungs in a bar or a party at my home? Yes. Do I understand the meaning? Off course. But do I think it's great for ESC? No. Do I like the staging? No, I liked the old ladies in the video. Is she a great singer in a singing competition? No. Weeeelllll gentleman, let me say to you, that I am almost being slaughtered for this opinion here 😂. But you know what? Good luck Albania from India. Belgium, at first I was not sure how it would sound and look on the live but I have significantly been growing positive about this dark pop. I am getting these notions that Belgium may surprise Europe this year. Last year, they landed in top 10, this time they have potential to rise even higher.

The text copied from newspaper: She summarizes "Ulveham", based on an old medieval ballad, as the story of an evil stepmother who casts a curse on her stepdaughter - who turns into a wolf running in the forest forever. She only loses her wolf's hide if she drinks her own brother's blood.
