An absolutely legendary performance. I remember when she performed, my reaction was - what the hell... how could we send this! But over the years I realized that "ziben ziben I lu-lu" was one of the most original performances in the history of Eurovision. Linguistic absurdity, over-the-top costumes, kitsch - I like it all now. If you look closely, the costumes of all the people on stage imitate the uniform of the train conductors (although the men in caps and shorts remind me of overgrown LGBT pioneers). But all of them are presented in such a kitsch, glamorous format that it looks like a parody of the post-Soviet pop culture of the 90s and early 2000s.

Yes, Verka plays on human instincts. And it is masterpiece!

Fact: Andrii Danylko (the real name of the performer) initially didn't even think about singing and was focused on standup comedy instead. Verka was one of his many characters, but she was the one whom viewers liked the most. There's even a song called Tango of Farewell Passion, in which Andrii and Verka at first argue who of them is the leader ("You are boring without me, my outfits and songs." - "Have you forgotten who writes those songs?"), but eventually agree that they "will be together forever"

Андрій Данилко прославився як гумористичний актор і співак в образі провідника залізничного поїзда - Вєрки Сердючки. Дехто говорить, що він цим ображає і принижує образ української жінки у світі. Але ті люди ,напевно, ніколи не їздили у 90 роках дизель поїздом Полтава-Кременчук😂. Данилко народився і виріс у Полтаві. Він неймовірно правдиво і смішно передає місцевий колорит представниць деяких професій. Як кажуть ніде правди подіти 😅.

I don't really like Verka Serdyuchka (Andrii Danylko), although when I was a child I listened to humorous stand-ups "Verka Serdyuchka" even on audiocassettes, I got tired of "SW Show", it was recorded as if in a train, because SW stood for Sleeper Wagon...I remember it as something post-Soviet, in his words I also heard notes of the Soviet, but everyone loves him because they grew up on all this during the collapse of the Soviet Union.
