The credits have rolled but the Eurovision Song Contest is never truly over!
Before we hit a summer packed with 2022 rumours and speculation, classic EurovisionAgain shows, and the Host City bidding process, let’s take a moment to remember just how much effort went in to the 2021 Contest.
To honour the hard work each participating country has put into delivering a 'Live-on-Tape’ back-up performance (should they not have made it to Rotterdam), we’ve created two special shows featuring these performances.
Guiding us through the Celebration is our Eurovision.tv host Krista Siegfrids and, of course, what’s a Eurovision without fans? Keep an eye out for the special fan performances you’ve been submitting throughout May.
Tonight you will be able to see the performances of the Semi-Finalists that didn't qualify for the final in Rotterdam.
Neither the MAPS or Embers Live-on-Tape performance will feature in the Eurovision Song Celebration shows, as both artists want the live performance they delivered in Rotterdam to be the version that people remember. Lesley and James' songs will still feature in the fan recap.

I feel the same way. It’s like they’re family by now and we won’t ever replace them. When a country didn’t have the same artist as last year I felt almost biased and loyal to the other artists who were the same from last year😂

Of all the entries that didn't qualify, Roxen was my favourite. I voted for her in the semi-finals (from Italy) and was so sorry to not see her get a second chance at the finals! Unfortunately, it's a competition and some of our favourites don't make it...

Seeing Roxen looking like a mess makes me realize she was dressed too beautiful for such a broken and depressing song. She looked really pretty yes... but it didn't fit the song. She should've kept it simple and real. I think she would've qualified with this live-on-tape performance honestly. She did her best regardless

Poland 🇵🇱, Romania 🇷🇴 and Latvia 🇱🇻 shown their stronger performances on live-on tapes. But Poland with that sleek staging and Romania with hoodie styling should've carried them over to Rotterdam. They might have the chance of qualifying if they've only did the live-on tape acts.

Roxen here is so much better than the real one. as I said before: she moves less, she sings better. the stage is much smaller and fit way better for recreating the music video. also there is no smoke here so she could breath better. and I really think this outfit is much better for the song (and better looking anyway. her outfit from the eurovision was ugly) and she looks much more confidence. I really think Roxen could make it to the finale if this staging was used instead of the one that was actually used. I hope Roxen will return to the eurovision one day, she deserve a real second chance.

@@andrei-td7wh We can be as noble as we want but at the end of the day Eurovision is a staging contest as well as a singing contest. You can't just turn off ppl's eyes. If you have a better name for the contest then feel free to throw your name ideas to the creators but even then by now it's not worth to change a name of a contest with such extensive history. It's brand recognition after all.

Czechia is definitely better in the live tape recording Australia’s tape is really good compared to the others, I just can’t imagine how it would have been if montaigne had flown to Rotterdam Rafal’s staging is also good here but I’d prefer his Eurovision performance since his vocals were better there Roxen’s choreography is way much better. when she moves less she sings better Wish Samanta had worn this dress at esc Glad that the rest of the countries upgraded their performances:)

I agree pretty much with everything you said. Czech Republic, Latvia and Romania surprised me in a better way here. All these recorded performances looked/sounded better than the final ones we saw at the Eurovision stage. I feel Latvia worked better here in a smaller sized stage than in a much wider and larger one as the Ahoy was, same as Romania. Roxen barely sounded out of breathe here since she didn't have to move or walk for long distances. And as for Cezchia, I loved the intro they did here, I don't know why they changed it for the final performance. Plus, Benny sounded better and I also preferred this choreo! It may be kinda too simple, but it fits with the song and performance.

Benny Cristo isn't actually singing better here. He's just better at having the hidden backing singer sing over him. You can still hear that whenever Benny's actually audible, he's still a bad singer.

the staging for technicolour would have been incredible in Rotterdam, but I'm afraid montaigne still wouldn't have had qualified for the final - it was a really tough semi. though I think she would have had a slightly better chance

@@alexandra9944 The stage is smaller so she doesn't have to move that much, meaning more energy saved for singing. Plus, there was no smoke on stage, so she could breathe and concentrate more. Also, she got so nervous on the live performance in Rotterdam. Here, we can see that she feels more comfortable in a pre-recorded session.

Honestly this year's Eurovision has been iconic! The show had so much quality from the acts to the staging to the hosts, the amount of extra content has been incredible and their social media game was on point. Bravo!

RTÉ are an embarrassment anyway, so this isn't too surprising. 2 contests in a row they've finished last in the semi final because they submitted poor songs, terrible staging and performers with weak vocals.

My top 5: 1. Poland - I love this song, he doesn't have the great voice but I love it. The performance is much better than in Rotterdam, it is one of my favorite songs of the year. I congratulate you Poland and they deserve to have qualified for the final. Much love from Uruguay ♥ 2. Croatia - She should have qualified for the final, I like this performance more because of the costumes and the backgrounds 3. Estonia - It's one of my favorite ballads, great performance and he has a beautiful voice. 4. Slovenia - Great voice, song and I like the dress 5. Austria - I'm not a fan of the song but he has a very good voice. He should have qualified instead of Moldova.

I do. How can one not? It's pure class, the instrumental is marvelous, Geike's dress was absolutely enchanting and she herself is damn HOT. Voted for them 3 times in the semi and 4 in the Grand Final, they had deserved to be in the top 10.
