I got the Model Y lease on £388 pm with £1000 down. Very happy with it. My invoice also showed the £1000 discount from the referral link. Maybe i just got lucky, but was all very smooth for me

mine was ordered on the 7th Sep and collected on the 18th. My insurance is very reasonable at £581 through admiral, but i am old and live in the sticks!! similar price to my discovery 5

I picked up a model Y in quicksilver and with 20” wheels for £330 a month over 3 years. Some of the people I heard having orders cancelled were people who selected demo vehicles (few grand cheaper). I don’t know why it allowed you if it wasn’t eligible but that’s Tesla for you.

Had experience of 2 x Tesla Model 3s - first was probably the best car I have ever driven (I've driven a lot). Incredibly comfortable and sound system just mental. But the second... Well, the wipers wouldn't work on auto even in a downpour and the cruise control slammed the brakes on four times in the fast lane of the A38 :| Polestar was OK but once you indicate to pull out from behind another car whilst in cruise control, it will accelerate right into the back if you have not changed lane! MG - I challenge anyone to find and fit a USB cable. Then do it again whilst driving (on a private road preferably!). Good stuff, thanks for the info

I have had my Tesla Model 3 for just over 2 years. Last week I hit a deer and, now the car is in for repairs. The replacement car I have is a 23 plate Vauxhall Corsa auto. I drove into a petrol station for the first time in over 2 years and put £55.50 worth of fuel in it. I was previously undecided whether I would go back to an 'ICE' car when the lease is up on the Tesla. I now can tell you my next car will be an EV. By the way it's railvlogger, but you can use my name ' Liam'

Leasing does make the insurance more expensive £250 more a year for me. My M3LR in 2021 was £650 a year. Now without any claims or convictions it's now £1200 a year. One major issue with a Tesla is ongoing insurance costs.

Shop around; others on here saying it made no difference for them. Insurance has gone up a lot generally and I'm guessing you're now looking at insuraing a new car rather than a 3 year old one - again this increases the cost.

Ordered Tesla model 3 from referral my question is I know the lease company will be the the owner but will they also be the registered keeper or will that be me? Also why has my insurance quote doubled when I put in it was a lease owned? Regards Chris

Both will be lease company. You are neither the owner nor registered keeper. No idea why that should change the insurance price.

correct, from my lease the company are both registered keeper and owner. Made no difference to my quote, but obviously had to tell my insurance company. A bonus is you don’t need to worry about VED

No issues with range on this one though, it's £200 per month cheaper than usual so a few miles of range difference wouldn't bother me

A cart load of paperwork, deals with tyre kickers, gets the finance and supply chain sorted, and brings the mountain to Mohammed so to speak - I looked into starting a broking business a while back and decided £300 was nowhere near enough

Model 3 is $28000 yet on uk its £39000 equivalent to $51000. So tesla charging uk going on for double the price. No thanks tesla

Ha! - not quite!! Tesla = no, your Government = YES!!! VAT, Import duties/tariffs and of course shipping costs are the biggest driver of price. Remember that in the US they are largely selling cars made in the US, here they're mostly selling cars made in China

@DefinitelyNotAGuru Duty 10% shipping £1500 vat 20% $28000 + 10% duty $30800. Plus vat 6160 $36960 = £28,248 PLUS shipping £1500. £29748.00 - that's what a tesla should cost in the UK. In reality it should be less than that because that's including USA taxes and UK taxes. On export the USA taxes would be refunded. So why are tesla charging UK buyers an extra £10k? That's not the UK govs fault or shipping costs as I've included that in the sums. Fact is £10k extra is been charged.

How on earth do you know how much a Tesla costs are to produce in China? clear customs there, ship to the UK, fees from the docks, the logistics firms etc? You’re also overlooking the fact that they are a US business so trading in their home country have huge financial benefits over their trade elsewhere. Look at it from legal and administration costs alone, not to mention doubling up of certain staffing in each third country branch. I have no doubt that the margin is not so drastically different across the world regardless of the pricing. Best not to worry about what one cannot control in any case 👍

@DefinitelyNotAGuru it will cost less to make In china so reality is we're getting even more ripped off. You can't suggest they would build the cars in China if it didn't cost less than to build in USA. I'm not just calling tesla many manufacturers rip of UK but I've never seen it to such extent than with tesla.
