My channel should probably be called the EVA Air trip report channel for the next few months.
I had an amazing flight in EVA's premium economy cabin. I got lucky and had no seat mate which meant two seats to myself. As usual, the service was friendly and accommodating. Food was plentiful and really excellent. I would say the omelette was better than some business class omelettes I have had. EVA hands out a really nice and supportive pillow as well as thick velvet blanket that made sleeping on the trip very comfortable, even though I wasn't in a lie flat seat. Overall EVA offers a great and consistent product in J and PE.

William Lau Actually CAL new 350 aircraft has a 3-3-3 config in Economy class. Supposedly EVA new 787 aircraft is also 3-3-3.

shihlin1 Unfortunately though , EVA seems to have abandoned Premium Economy on their B787 , with just Economy and Royal Laurel ( Business ) classes.

Having been in the airline business more than 26 years, I've done my share of flying. I flew ANA - All Nippon Airways - my last couple of trips to MNL from ORD. Five Stars all the way. Great food, along with free beer, wine, and sake, even in Economy Class. Will be flying EVA to MNL in October. After viewing your video, looking forward to the flights.

The extra pitch of 6 inches versus regular economy makes all the difference in the world to me. I don't feel claustrophobic which is important on a flight this long. I flew from JFK to TPE and it was relatively painless, the service was fine, the only complaint is that the interior of the aircraft seems rather sterile but it was very clean, a huge plus.

I am extremely impressed with the PE on EVA Air. I used to fly EVA PE a few times to SEA on their B744 long time ago. Unfortunately it was not as good as it is now. Hopefully I will get an opportunity to do it again.

We went to the Philippines last summer, we were supposed to take this airline but they where on strike so they had to booked are flight to Korean air. Both airlines where awesome. We toke Eva air on the returning trip home to Chicago. The part I don’t necessarily like about Eva air our layover to Chicago was 6 hours but I got use to it.

Same thing too. We booked philippine airlines instead. Korean air is actually a good airline as well.

Erno Lazlo kits are only ex-TPE. Inbound flights still get Thann. They recently “updated” the Thann kit too after Erno Lazlo came out.

O'Hare has better catering than LAX. I've flown on EVA in premium economy, the food looks nothing like this. O'Hare catering beats LAX ! Look how fresh that salad is---my goodness !

I did the same flight two years ago. I rated this airline superior to all american carriers. Same with China East.

I flew Eva Air a lot and finally got Gold status but for now they are not flying to the Philippines. I must fly other carriers in the star alliance club now.

Thanks for the video. I'm thinking of flying Eva Air via Taipei to Seoul. Is there any tours run from the airport to see Taipei and how long a layover is needed?

I dont think they do tours from Taoyuan to Taipei. I have not yet seen it.

Fantastic flight review man! I have been watching a lot of your Eva air flight reviews lately and there fantastic! I am flying Eva air premium economy from Toronto to Taipei in a few months so it was great to see a really in depth review of the airline! I might add that your very good at editing and getting good shots of pretty much every aspect of the flight which I find some other flight reviews lack from other youtubers. What editing system do you use? And how big is Eva airs premium economy class in size? Thanks for sharing!

Thanks! It is about 38 inch seat pitch and 19.3 inches in seat width, which I believe is pretty standard. I just Sony movie studio for the editing

Asia Travels Cool! that’s very helpful to know. I actually meant how big is the premium economy class it’s self? Because when looking on the seat map of Eva’s being 777 it looked like the cabin for premium economy was bigger then other airlines.

Why feels like the PE's menu is about the same(at least not much different) from Economy's menu? I actually had basically the same one last summer when I flew with EVA on their SFO route...

Because its probably the same. I don't believe there is that much difference besides being served first or the sparkling wine option.

I fly that route also SFO to TPE about twice a year and yes it seems like the flights are usually full. Large population of Asians in Northern California flying to Taiwan then connecting flight out to South East Asia, Philippines and India.

Hello, thanks for sharing your experience as well as some shots of the Northern Lights aka Aurora Borealis. Just curious, how were you able to capture it with your phone? (iphone I assumed) When I was in Iceland last month I couldn't get any shots with my phone at all even though the Northern Lights were very visible with the naked eyes.

I used my DSLR set with f2.8 apeture and ISO1600 and a very very steady hand. It is still too dark for camera phones unless u control the exposure

Cathay A350 PE will be coming up, and possibly Air China J. ANA economy and a bunch of a low cost carriers will be later on in the year. I don't think I will be doing any more First class trip in while. I switched my travels to EVA for their excellent service.

Because those flights happen only on certain days of the week. roughly 3-4 times a week in each direction. I just never been lucky enough to fly on those dates.

these new seats suck! A few years ago the premium seats had big double arm rests between seats, you would never touch your neighbor. But most important there used to be full reclining foot parts to the seat, just like a house reclining chair. Now, there is nothing. This is horrible and for 6 years I always flew EVA elite twice a year on average. Now I will not. Cathay or even China Air seats look better
