I am privileged to have known Eva and her parents and spent s couple of summers in Nova Scotia, Eva also had her parents AMAZING talent for painting and sculpture, I have sat next next to Eva on a Summer evening watching shooting stars whilst she played guitar and sang for us in front of the fire' Thanku some of the most Magical Memories I have had so far in life Eva, we were utterly utterly Heartbroken when u became ill and then beyond belief, we were told you wouldn't recover, Heaven is 'BLESSED' to have you Cus'💔🙎🏽🙏🏽🇬🇧💜
Truly was guys' s , & talent aside Eva was the most humble shy gentle personI at almost 50 , I have ever met Eva had no huge ambition for feckless fame etc' Art Music & family with equal importance were her passion.m 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽

I have to be honest, I only discovered her a few years ago. She is unbelievable. I've never heard anyone with this extreme a gift. How did I miss this!!? How did the world miss it! My heart aches now every time I hear Autumn Leaves or Over the Rainbow.
The greatest musicians and singers and talents are never the ones who reach fame.. We are lucky to have her legacy so we can know the difference between fabrication and integrity. This is 'live' no pitch control.. a live off the floor mix and it is perfect.. She sings perfectly.. add in all the beyond belief core depth of soul.. for sure God is a woman singing..
Fred Flintstone I discovered her today and am blown away by her talent, and so sad to find she is no longer with us. Her interpretation of every song is uniquely hers, and they're all fantastic! Her decisions on where she wants to go vocally are always spot on, perfection.

Having worked the last 30 years as a musician and recording engineer in Nashville I can vouch for the fact that the best talent doesn't necessarily rise to the top due to any number of factors....music is far more about marketing these days...they like nice tidy packages they can sell like soap...the music is almost secondary.
Eva should be in the Hall of Fame where she is the ONLY member. She's in a class all by herself. Eva Cassidy, I was not aware of you when you were alive... and I will regret that for the rest of my life.
I had never heard of Eva until just recently & regret that!! She was awesome the way she would take a song we all knew but with her phrasing & that beautiful voice, she made it hers. ❤️ She was taken from us far too soon😔...

She is awesome! An absolute genius! There isn’t anything she has sung that didn’t resonate to and through your soul! You can feel her presence through her music and voice! She is immortal. This woman is now my favorite artist of all time. I am blessed to a friend who sent me a couple of Eva's recordings online, for I never knew of Eva Cassidy before I listened to her only two days ago! And what a talent I have missed!! I want her "Fields of Gold" sung at my memorial or funeral service. It brings tears to my eyes, every time. RIP, Eva Cassidy.

Her family has worked tirelessly to recover every recording of her performances and digitally restore the sound quality from the original recordings and release them on cds and then downloads. The re-evaluation came from the BBC radio, then their news service, when ABC News picked up and aired on Nightline on New Year’s Night 2000. I’m sure it’s on RU-vid.
I wish I had a record player and records made by her, so I could sit in a room full of books, and with a view, to sit and spend hours listening to her amazing gift of song.
OH MY GOD! Are you serious girl? This thing makes my whole body shake. Damn this is just indescribable. There never was nor ever will be anyone like Eva. She is everything all musicians strive to be but NEVER EVER WILL THEY GET THERE.
I’ve known about Eva Cassidy since 1998, two years after her death. She was an astounding talent and we are indeed fortunate her family and friends were able to convince her to record, which she didn’t care for too much. The live takes are probably the most incredible. This one is like hearing the greatest Soul Goddess of all, Aretha Franklin. There are times when Eva reaches those notes and has the Gospel inspired inflection of the greatest Soul and Gospel singers, and Aretha was one of that select few. I do believe Eva Cassidy was as great a singer as Aretha Franklin, and Aretha is my favorite female singer. Perhaps my favorite singer - period. Those of us who value the soul and feeling of music know Eva Cassidy is right there with Aretha. You can hear it and, most of all, you feel it. What a loss. RIP, both Eva and Aretha. Gone too soon, each one.

2021 & this woman is still a legend- such a shame not many knew of her existence whilst she was alive but long may her voice & subtle tones melt through the hardest of hearts for she has the voice of an angel which was taken from us way too young... 😢🥰

Her voice is the most amazing I've EVER heard! So PURE like a beautiful crystal goblet filled with clear refreshing water! Her gift had that refreshing quality! Touches me in the deepest parts of my being! She made everythg she sang Come ALIVE! Just Knowing that voice was silenced in death makes me weep!
I was privileged to be in charge of my mom’s celebration of life in October of 2011. I played this incredible version of this classic song along with a pictorial tribute. All of my family loved it and asked me after who sang it. It still moves me to this day.
Reminds me of Queen, Freddie Mercury, who passed away in his earlier years of his work, also. But Freddie was a world sensation by the time he died, yet died early in life. As Eva. Rip to both...Eva I am just tuning in to you, you are amazing. :) love love love

Eva can do no wrong. She makes every song her very own. Can sing like Aretha, but is her own self always. Can sing jazz and scat. I hope wherever she is she is singing to angels.
