Check out the Evakool Down Under 75L Dual Zone Fridge Freezer 75L here:
www.snowys.com.au/down-under-...
Made in Australia to be used in our harsh conditions, the Down Under 75L Dual Zone Fridge Freezer from Evakool will keep your food and bevvies fresh off the grid.
This dual zone cooling system uses a Secop compressor and a highly efficient roll bond evaporator. It’s made tough, with a metal cabinet for durability and a white powder-coated finish to ensure it holds up outdoors. The roto-molded lids seal closed with heavy-duty metal latches, and each zone can be operated independently for efficiency. The handles are spring-loaded and there are built-in tie-down points are integrated into the cabinet for security. It also features an Anderson-style connection so you can power it up with a simple plug and play, with a 12V/24V slimline power adaptor included.
In this video, our gear expert Ben talks you through all the features of the Down Under 75L Dual Zone Fridge Freezer from Evakool.
He starts out with the weight, dimensions, and materials, then moves on to the external and internal features. Then he guides you through the dimensions of the inner compartments, demonstrates what will fit inside, and then finishes with plugging it in to show you how to use the control panel.

I just bought the 47L. Reversible lid and lightweight. Anderson to Anderson is handy also has a battery charge display. First impression is very impressive low power draw. Got it to zero on 240v then into no the car set -18 to freeze some water bottles overnight on a warm summer night. and the voltage was still 12.1v in the morning. $699 with a cover is great value.

It's great to see items like these using high quality materials and components are still being made in Australia. 👏👍 If this was available 5yrs ago when I bought my Kick*ss 75L dual zone fridge (which incidentally the design of this Evakool looks very similar down to the internal baskets), I would have bought this Evakool instead - I'm all for supporting Aussie made 🇦🇺But now, I feel this design style is outdated. What a missed opportunity for Evakool to design this with (tool-less) quick removable and reversible lids. My next portable fridge will need to have these features for me to consider it. Being able to remove and reverse the lids will allow me greater flexibility and potentially ditch the very heavy drop down fridge slide.

The 47 litre version of this fridge has a reversible lid.

@@outdoors5352 I was referring more to a similar lid design they have on their dual zone models in their Travelmate Series. But those have polypropylene injection moulded cabinet (not really an issue), and are made overseas.

@@HammerRocks Either way, it's good to see an Aussie made fridge at a decent price. If the budget stretches next time (if my Engel ever dies), I think I'll get a Trailblaza fridge.

These Aussie made Down Under fridges are a new alternative to the Fibreglass fridges Evakool have been making in Australia for 26+ years, their range is always evolving so who knows what design changes the future will hold. I do think that having too many options i.e. easily reversible lids, fancy displays makes for more things that can go wrong, this fridge is made in a very straightforward and durable manner. ~ Ben

@@SnowysOutdoors Hmm. not sure if quick removable and/or reversible lids will be a source of failure if designed properly using quality materials. It's neither mechanical nor electronic. But good to see Aussie made products, and selling for competitive prices.

Just curious, the compartments can have their temp set individually...but can you actually shut individual compartments off, so that you are only running one??

Australian assembled not made in Australia. Secop made in? Control panel made in? Not having a go would like to know if any of the parts that make this fridge are made in Australia

I understand where you are coming from @Vasko Dimoski, but a large portion of the materials used in Australian Manufacturing comes from offshore. EvaKool are well known for making all their Iceboxes in Australia, aswell as their fridges...installing a genuine branded, high quality compressor or electrical components from a reputable international company doesn't change this. ~ Lauren

@@vaskodimoski5690 I don't have this info sorry, Vasko. I'd say a lot of the components/parts are manufactured overseas simply because we don't have a manufacturer in Australia. But I'd say that they are about as Aussie-made as a camping fridge gets. ~ Ben
