I have to realize that I`m not a teenager anymore...So, I have to find the 'benefits' in my situation...I hope that 2000-s were not the best time in my life -- I may have even better in the future... But yeah... 2000`s are still in my heart (with precious songs)))
I fell in love with Evanescence when I was in late 20's. Now it's 2022 i'm almost 50 and each time i hear Amy's voice it's still like the first time. I don't feel old, just blessed. She is a defining artist of a generation.
I love a lot of artists out there, so many talented singers and bands, but Amy Lee has always been unique for me. When I am really feeling my emotions in those late night moments where I'm delving into music, Evanescence always sends me into that emotional feedback state that I can barely describe, it's amazing. I don't know what it is about her vocals, its haunting and angelic, just beautiful. I have heard nothing like her in my life.
This song was exactly what I needed to hear when it came on my playlist randomly. I realized I'd never really paid much attention to it but I'm so glad I heard it tonight.
Do what you what you want If you have a dream for better Do what you what you want Till you don't want it anymore (remember who you really are) Do what you what you want Your world's closing in on you now (it isn't over) Stand and face the unknown (got to remember who you really are) Every heart In my hands Like a pale reflection Hello, hello remember me? I'm everything you can't control Somewhere beyond the pain There must be a way to believe We can break through Do what you what you want You don't have to lay your life down (it isn't over) Do what you what you want Till you find what you're looking for (got to remember who you really are) But every hour Slipping by Screams that I have failed you Hello, hello remember me? I'm everything you can't control Somewhere beyond the pain There must be a way to believe Hello, hello remember me? I'm everything you can't control Somewhere beyond the pain There must be a way to believe There's still time Close your eyes Only love will guide you home Tear down the walls and free your soul Till we crash we'll forever spiraling Down, down, down, down Hello, hello it's only me Infecting everything you love Somewhere beyond the pain There must be a way to believe Hello, hello remember me? I'm everything you can't control Somewhere beyond the pain There must be a way to learn forgiveness Hello, hello remember me? I'm everything you can't control Somewhere beyond the pain There must be a way to believe We can break through Remember who you really are Do what you what you want.
I wish I was born in the second half of the 80s so I could be old enough in the 90s and the first 2000s to appreciate this kind of music when it was still on air. Now it's rare to meet someone listnening to this kind of music, expecially in my country. I know there are millions of them, I just never met one of them because they're spreaded all over the world.
Exactly! I was born in 1987 and late 90's and early 2000's had great music! Well, there are lots of awesome bands nowadays, but you can't find them on TV. For example I love Amaranthe, but that's never gonna be on Tv like Evanescence was 15 years ago. Furthermore, I remember complaining how I wasn't born in early 80's so I could enjoy Guns n Roses ''you could be mine'' video on air !!
hi I'm not the guy that owns this account but I'm a girl and I love this music you can message me on Hangouts my name is Cheyenne Paul so if you like message me U can thx
+Trisha Poole She's still around. She is releasing covers of songs on her own youtube channel and the band did like 4 shows in November. :) She had a baby and I think she is trying to do some solo stuff.
Then there's the whole "record label contract breach" thing. Basically, the company owes them money and they don't own the name "Evanescence". So no work until they get paid, no name until they work. Ugly situation.
I like to believe that this song is about remembering a younger identity that some of us lose as we become adults. Adulthood many times comes with more anxieties, perfectionism, unhealthy need for control, and it's the young voice here singing "remember me? I'm everything you can't control", which encourages you to let go of all this anxiety and need for control, and become a more authentic self.
I get the song stuck in my head every single day not being able to wear headphones at work and such relief to finally come home and listen to it. Don't know what it is about this song that gets me so hype but it does
Hey you Dear whoever is reading this, I wish there was a way for everyone to erase all sadness and stress and just replace it with happiness. Never forget that! Sending much Love over from Germany ♥️
Thank you ~~ I needed to hear this. Ended a 7 year abusive relationship, 3 days ago. Feeling unloved, un worthy. Thank you fur reminding me of what lies inside Me. Strength, beauty, Love.
@@suzanne4396 sending you a huge hug from Australia. Listen to Amy... She'll pull you out of that black hole. She's done it for all her fans who have been in dark times. Remember, your not that shattered soul that left your ex... Your a stronger woman than that. She's there... You know she is. Keep encouraging her and she'll take over. Go find something pretty to put on and go into town and tell the world, I'm here. I'm me and I'm beautiful ❤️
epica, within temptation and that's what i get without breaking my head over it ;P i was going to say nightwish but i believe they're not active anymore. not sure though ;P
I just listened to fit for rivals.......I don't like them, soft core rock and they dress like hipsters with skinny jeans. Time for some good ole' Guns N Roses late 80's/early 90's
@@wtfhowbizarre1946 Then take it as a comparison to the concept and understand what he's saying instead of trying to challenge it in an unnecessary manner
Everytime in my life that I hit mental rockbottom and I'm just lost, my healing and processing my emotion goes through listening to evanescence their music. They give words to my experience and then lift me up to go further.
Such an underrated song. By the artists who brought you the most beautiful music of the world. I adore you A. Lee. You are such a dear angel. I love you.
happy birthday amy!!! your songs speak to me so much. Each has helped me through something. It's just so amazing to know that there's someone else out there who's so much like me. Someone who has a very similar personality, someone with similar struggles, and likes. I will never forget Evanescence and i will never forget what your music has done for me. You are amazing and insanely huge birthday wishes to you!
it's amazing how evanescence can sing this good and be super famous and 2 read the comments in a lot of her videos and lyrics from other ppl and no one hates her, it's just weird when ppl r like "she has the eyes that stare into ur soul"
*sighs* *_FOR THE LAST FUCKING TIME THE PRONOUN IS THEYYYYYYYYYYYYYY NOT HER_* . _Do you really think Amy Lee plays piano, guitar, percussion, strings, programming, and vocals?_ *_REALLY!??!?!?!?_*
It's cool how no matter how unpopular they were in their later years, they still never changed their style, unlike many other artists who completely change genres to get more popular
+Devon Dreyer I dunno. I kinda like the newer Linkin park songs as well. tbh, they actually got LESS mainstream. nu metal was really mainstream at the time.
Devon Dreyer in that case, have you tried listening to their new album? It's a lot more hard rock than the last two, bit with still a few electronic elements. I can suggest a few you might like. Try listening to rebellion, guilty all the same, a line in the sand (personal favourite) or wastelands. :)
@@matthiasbeckham9604 is she really? And one can be a sang/vampire and a wiccan i believe. I m a satanist so idk the wiccan rules but i didn t believe they are against blood consumption.
Listening to this song for 1st time in 12 years, I completely forgot this song existed, I'm glad I found it again, it feels very haunting and nostalgic at this point.
Can't wait for the Synthesis album (only a few days left!!! )and to see them on tour in Feb.Then, in 2018, for their brand new album! It's all FINALLY happening at once!!!!
If you were there and you got an autograph from Amy in a red marker, youre welcome. Me and my best friend who recently passed away drove from western Ohio to Brooklyn NY to be in this video. Best day of our lives. We were 2 of the 3 black people there. Loved it, got to meet Amy at the end.
Ya conocía las dos canciones más famosas de evanescence (My inmortal y Bring me to life) pero hoy con 20 años puedo decir que realmente descubrí su musica, y DIOS, llevo como dos horas escuchandolos sin parar.
No offense and all. I love amy and her vocals are amazing. But adele's vocal range is amazing. Hello isn't the only song she's famous for. And you don't have to put another artist down to bring someone up.
they're both great, in my opinion. Adele has great feeling and great vibrato, while Amy also has great feeling, but there's that element of pain in her voice that really grabs you. I love listening to both. They're both pretty good songsmiths, too.
