To me personally. And I think the lyrics reflect it as well. The song is about a guy who is with an amazing woman that he can't seem to bring himself to fully love. He's telling himself he needs to start to actually love her because she's worth it. She wants to be with him so she puts up with his distant attitude. But he wonders exactly how long before she changes her mind about him and moves on to someone more deserving of her.
I feel its about a guy who loved a girl so much... they argued a lot... he fought for her so much (he feels it was pathethic to be that way) and she didn't really care enough. He left heartbroken after she went off with someone else. She got what she wanted. She realized she made a mistake in leaving him, she begs him. He has so much to say, but he just says "no" to the relationship. He says if it will change her life if he changes his mind about it. He isn't going to. He can only think that she should love that other guy so much she will move on from him. He's done.
@@VeryCloverd I agree with this, but I think she hurt him so bad that he thought about suicide. " Hang a noose for my new sinner " this song hits alot of diffrent feelings.
I think you are all wrong. Its about a girl who is not really worth his time but he loves for all her flaws and (but not seeing those flaws) she could care less about his affection. So now he tells the next man in line he needs to be the one to give her the love he thinks she deserves. While standing aside and trying to persuade himself that he should be the one that she loves. No matter how wrong he knows all of that is.
Evans Blue has been able to comfort me throughout my life. When I was younger in my teens and early 20's Kevin's voice helped me through bad relationships, because Kevin sang mostly about heart-break. Me and my friend from the Army would sing these songs on our deployments to Iraq hoping to get back to our significant others, wishing we were back in the states. Those women left us for other men, ones that didn't leave for a year every other year. Well I am 30 now, and my friend is dead now due to the war. I don't really care about the heartbreak from a woman anymore. But I miss my friend and I struggle with all this crap left over from that stupid war. Dan Chandler sings about struggle in real life, and Evan's Blue realistic lyrics really help me struggle with the weight on my shoulders. hooah
Back in 2007, when I first heard this song, I scratched my CD hearing it over and over again. Now in 2016, I feel like I am going to scratch this you tube video. Best song from this amazing album!
been five years since I last heard this song. and the feeling jus rushed back into my body, made me scream out the top of my lungs every word. good thing I don't have any roommates 😄
+Michael Gonzales this song brings me back about that far as well, first time listening to it in years and only now am i beginning to find those memories i once had. Haha this is my motivation for finishing finals week.
So many fantastic songs, I dont know which one Im more attached to, stumbled across this great artist, and Im still tumbling, I think Im particularly drawn to, Erase my Scars, its a very profound song, its a shame, what happened to the nephew, still hes in good hands now, I hope Evans Blue continues to make beautiful and meaningful music, major props!
This song is so awesome and so true about me and my "ex" I just can't believe it. And now everybody wants her but I shouldn't even bother Cause you made me so complete dear But you left me so alone here Hang a noose for my new sinner Somewhere everyone can see it ...I know you're risking failure AWESOME.
It's kinda cool seeing how y'all keep coming back here and jamming to this song lol whether experience or luck brought you here, I'm glad you like this song too years after its release :)
This song reminds me of my cousin so much. I miss her so much. This song never fails to bring tears and goosebumps. I can remember when she showed me this song, it felt just like yesterday. I can never seem to forget the expression on her face when she sang along at the "This world lives just fine without us" part. I don't know if she felt that way but God how it's untrue. I miss you so much. I think about you everyday. I miss spending almost everyday together. This song is just so strong and emotional. "For how long?" never fails to send chills down my spine. I miss you. I love you.
I love this song and I wish I could find a more accurate bass tab for this song. I've found a couple but they seem to be missing parts or some parts are played kinda funny.
OMG the only reason why i came across this song is bcos of Ben Burnley but it has become to b one of my favorites!!! :) i had never heard of this band b4 its awesome tho!!
this was the song that my girl played for me when it got to this point, we loved each other but we did not say it at first. She played this and it just clicked she holds my heart i love her so much.
"Go run for cover!! You better fucking love her!!" Best part =] I heard their song "Over" on the radio and loved it, then I found this song and now its one of my new favorite songs and bands now!
I think it really is 'how to love you' instead of 'can I love you'. I heard an accoustic session of this song, and it was way clearer.Good song, anyway. There aren't words enough to describe how good Evans Blue is.♥
Just reminds me of my ex..it makes me cry every night because we were so close. I would do anything to get her back. She has a new bf and he better love her
My ex made me listen to this =/ he listened to it nonstop after we broke up[funny thing is he broke up with me =/]...nd now i cant stop listening to it
This song makes me miss my ex so damn much. I'll never find another like her, and it's my fault she's gone. I'd give anything for another chance with her...
