Eve Energy Strip Review: Smart Plugs with Purpose 

D-Squared do you really have that many things in one place that need to be turned on and off by the source? I sure done have 3 lamps in reach of one strip, and devices like a TV have no need to turn power on and off at the outlet

Some Eve devices and idevices use Bluetooth. This outlet doesn’t but a lot of HomeKit are Bluetooth and WiFi. August locks use Bluetooth also!

The Koogeek power strip is NOT a better alternative to Eve’s for several very important reasons. First - design-wise the Eve Energy Strip is far nicer. Matte black finish in an aluminum case versus white plastic. Second - Eve Energy has usage statistics. You can see how much power is currently being drawn, how much it has cost you to date in electricity, how much it is projected to cost you over the coming weeks and months. Security - Eve ONLY supports HomeKit which is the most secure. by tying into Google Home or Alexa you are opening yourself up to security vulnerabilities. Lastly, and this is probably one of the most important for us - is that Koogeek is only selling a “power strip” not a surge protector. A multi usb Charger is a non issue. You also completely ignore the lack of any electronic protection and the security issues.

It doesn’t have the same features. They are not selling a surge protector, they sell a power strip. There is no protection to your devices. That is a huge difference and why a surge protector costs twice as much as a power strip.

I set up HomeBridge, then took the Pi offline while working on it. So all my HomeBridge devices are no longer connecting.
