Some additional important slang words: "Skill book": a purchaseable license for learning a new ability. "Clone": one of several of the player's characters (can be increased via a skill). "Implant": a specific type of item only mountable into clones. "Clean clone" or "empty clone": a clone that contains no implants. Getting "podded": getting not only one's ship destroyed but also one's capsule, which results in the victim being teleported to their home station and losing all their capsule implants. "ganking": killing another player's ship using an ambush. Getting "concorded": getting destroyed by the in game police "CONCORD" for violating a game law. Mostly used when the attack was performed erroneously because the attacker was unaware of a specific game law. "Suicide ganking": intentionally breaking the game law by ganking another player in "high sec" which results in the attacker getting "concorded" while expecting getting concorded. Used only on extremely high value targets. "Blue balling": not participating in an *expected* fight (e.g. running away immediately on seeing the hostile fleet or not even undocking for the fight). "Rolling" a wormhole: intentionally closing a wormhole using special ship maneuvers.
I forgot a very important word: "gf": short for either "good fight" which is written in local system chat window at the end of fair fight. A fair fight is one where both opponents volunteer to the fight and the outcome is not obvious at the begin. Or it is short for meaning "get fuc*ed" after surviving another player's attack in a subjectively perceived unfair fight. A subjectively perceived unfair fight is one where the victim thinks they are entitled to not getting their ship destroyed for whatever reason (e.g. not wanting to fight).
Heheh, great info and amusing. After 20 years ingame I didn't know that's where AWOX came from and the ''Calamari'' gag had also avoided me. Thanks for that 🙂
I always thought the term "KRAB" or "KRABBING" originated from the activity of running "CONCORD Rogue Analysis Beacons" (or CRABs for short) in null sec space??
My FC told me to go hot-hot 3 times in the Praxis he gave me. I warped to the static and cloaked. Now I'm watching this video to figure out what hot-hot means. Of course I told my FC I did it allready but i have no clue. 😊😊😊 I wonder if the fleet that just arrived at the static has something to do with it. They seem to be warping to the site my FC is running ... 😊😊
Missed the opportunity to cover Jimmy getting attacked and needing to broadcast for reps, which is a perfect transition for a faux sponsorship segment for the B4R community.
Also denotes a website offering a lot of information about wormholes. Anoik dot is I don't know if this is a backronym (meaning: the website had its name first, then people starting calling wormholes like the adress of the website)
