Hi folks,
Im this video we are looking at scams within Eve Online. We focus on Jita seeing at this the major trade hub. How to avoid getting scammed and looking at ISK doublers, hanger clearouts, Eve Hypernet offers ect.

Once I've sold rigged Drake and other time rigged Raven by contracts in Jita local. If you want to sell something using contracts and fast, then Jita and neighboring systems is the good way to do so. But yeah, anything taken from Jita local should be checked very-very carefully.

pretty much the 2 "golden Rules" i wad told when i started playing were: dont fly what you cant afford to loose! and dont bother with trade hub local chats, its 99.99% scams.

when i started i sent 5 mil to an isk doubler and they sent back 100 mil. never did it again and i bought a drake. not saying to sent them isk, most are bots now days anyways but sometimes a player will send some back. think bait on the end of a fishing line.

id still reconmend keeping an eye on trade hub local chat just "asume" its a scam before compleating the transaction and you shouldent get caught out - oirm example few yrs back i got a fully t2 fit Rohk set up for missions at an est value of 300mill isk and the seller had put it up for 300 thousand by mistake

Ignore every single offer. Just buy/sell on market and u will be fine.

Or trade in perimeter and only go to jita for the item you bought

The isk doubler rules said to add "Giveavvay" in the transaction reason. Note the double v's instead of a w. I'm not defending the scammer just pointing out an excuse he could use to justify cheating you (in his devious little mind anyway). He could also say that the speech marks should, or should not, have been included just to get out of paying. Tricksy little gits aren't they :)

so the easiest way not to be scammed is be poor you cant buy the 1b geko if you dont have 50 mil

missed that scam where when you win the item on hyper they make a 'you won a prize' contract where if you accept you would actually give them the won item

The hyper net example you pulled up is also a scam. The owner had half of the tickets. Therefore he has 50 percent chance to keep the orca and keep the bid money.

and yet that has no bearing on the overall outcome of the raffle. You know your odds, you know the price its up to you if you then entered. At no point are you not getting what you signup for. Its up to you to decide if thats a price you wish to pay. This is why I dont call Hypernet a scam. Its awful and if you play over time you will only ever loose but that in general is gambling.

Hypernet is most certainly not a scam, it is what is known as a raffle or lottery. I have used hypernet lots now and yes whilst I have "lost" a good chunk of isk I have also had a decent amount of wins that make it all worth while in the end. I got my friend, who has played Eve for years, to finally have a go on hypernet since he never had. I thought he would start small but nope straight in with the big raffles lol and he actually won first time out. He won an orca and a Nightmare, lsoab he is hehehe.

Hypernets, and real life gambling by extension, are by certain definitions scams. Misleading advertisements and faulty human reasoning conspire together to make you think "Maybe this is the time in which I will win!" In reality, the house always wins. A 49% chance at winning in a double or half game would average out to you having nothing in the end, if you played it infinitely.

Crunch the numbers and you'll find that over time you will always lose more than you gain.

its mind blowing people fall for this stuff. same goes for scams IRL too i suppose but in IRL its some grandma that doesnt understand technology. in EvE everyone is much more tech savvy on average I would bet. certainly no grandmas

I recommend going to a high sec pocket and doing DEDs. Abyssals are good too. I recently joined a C5 WH corp and isk is reaaally good. Just be careful and learn the game slowly. Progress comes naturally.
