Since this video was recorded I have adjusted the factory planets to be a little easier to work with. I will post a short video tomorrow showing the changes.

Yeah, I will have to do that sometime. Though in all honesty it is mostly interface changes. The underlying details are the same. I rebuilt 1 planet today (was waiting for the changes to do it) and it is nice, but again, math is all the same... just a little easier to click through the steps. Next time I have to rebuild a planet (move to richer deposits) I will record an update.

Nice video, Pockets. Definitely a good introduction to PI stuff. I have a question though... Don't you get hammered on import and export taxes when you use planets for only extraction? Wouldn't it make more sense to do your first stage of processing on the planets where you extract the raw materials? Then you could export the P1 materials to your factory planets. I guess there would have to be some kind of trade off because you wouldn't be able to extract as much on each planet if you had to build basic processing.
Thanks, I have since discovered that at the Tax rates in the system I will be shutting down the HS portion of my PI (My Low Sec ones are fine) after my quick update video today. @15-20% my costs to produce are 50-100% higher than I can buy them from the market LOL Have to watch them Taxes (or my math could be completely wrong)
Good guide, Pockets. The only thing I do in space is build the command center. I scan, place structures, and route materials when I'm docked at a station. Is there an advantage to being in space as opposed to being docked up? Thanks for posting the videos and helping the new players.
Not really. I just like being in space lol. Usually when I am working I stay in space incase I need to use a spaceport/access the POCO. When my ship is fit, I park at a safe and cloak, did not have the cloak for this vid (and teahthering in HS is pretty safe lol)
I don't use spreadsheets for much. I do this as an additional source for my corp. I use the PDF (should still be linked in the description) as a guide but that's about it LOL. I am not, in anyway, an industry guy 😊
Thanks Yes, you get taxed in both directions. It is really hard to make a profit in HighSec doe to this. In my original setup the Tax was costing more then Sell orders on the market. this setup came in just under (barely) My LowSec operation is much better due to lower tax rates. I will be redoing this as I need to move this PI to Lowsec and I figured it would be good to update with the recent changes... Hope to get to it this week.
I disagree, I have 2 toons set up for pi in highsec, each makes appx 20 mil a week, as a passive income it's not bad, but since my main lives in a wh, it's not a lot but its not subject to being wardecced
@@Nathan5027 who owns the POCOs and what are your tax rates though. Most POCOs I Highsec sit around 20% tax. Hard to make a profit at that level. Also. What are you making?
only 1 poco is at 20% (super low tax corp owns that one i think) the rest are 14-17%, making supercomputers, coolant and test cultures, with occasionally (1-2 times a month) getting rid of the surplus used to make them. those toons are kept in npc corps too, so i get no benefit from being in the owning corp either. i make a lot more isk from my operation in the wh i live in, we have 4% tax on most and 2% on my factory planet, combined with a lot richer raw material deposits, it's way more profitable
Yes, the further the connection the more power- from the extractor to the rest of the factory, not from the extractor heads to the extractor... I think LOL You have to wait a few minutes after you submit, but you can cancel the extraction and adjust it anytime after that.

It can be complex yeah. I have a lot going on here. As I said o the comments though. I have simplified the factory planets and will post a quick update today.

Yep. But if you want to make fuel blocks on 1 character this is what you need. Make sure command upgrades is at 4 and that your connections between nodes are as short as possible. Long pathing takes more power.
