Thank you so much for posting this, I have been wanting to find this track for the best part of 10 years. You have composed a truly a profound piece of music.
Still one of my favorite trailers, because of how brutally honest it is. Think it's being too cynical? Nope. EVE players are like that. And it's awesome.
I hope they make a new trailer with this kind of dark space vibe. Lately it's been more "cool" and action packed, not so much dark, mysterious and awe inspiring, like this one. While new eve trailers are still among my favorites game trailers, they haven't given me the shivers like this one does. Cheers CCP.
Religions, as so many other things, began when man looked at the skies and said: I belong there. I am one with the gods. So man rose from the grounds to build a new home for himself in the cold, dark depths of space. And he brought hope to those dark places, expecting that this ascension, this enlightment would unify and strengthen him. But the darkness fought back, and man turned on man. Metal behemoths roamed the skies, gorging themselves on lesser creatures. And somewhere along the line, we found our true nature. For man is the destroyer of things, and the vicious master of his savage domain. We have our own place in the universe, and it is a dark, cruel role we play. We are the revolutioners. We are the usurpers to the heavenly thrones. We are the enemies of the gods.
This trailer, it doesn't matter that it's not looking like much nowadays, but to me this will forever be the best EVE online trailer. That part "we are the enemies of the gods" always gives me goosepumps.
Yeah, the dominion trailer is quite awesome, but don't forget about the Tyrannis trailer- it's quite awesome too and the fleet battle in the "I was there" trailer is also quite awesome... I wonder what this year's winter expansion will be^^ I guess they will announce it at E3 2012
ahah! I've been trying to find out what the narrator said around 1:56. She said usurpers to the heavenly thrones, damn it took me months to uncover, I just couldn't understand what was said at first. that kept me obsessed. EVE's great!
@Videogenius7 four days ago, they were switching to a new server cluster, and that took over 30 hours to accomplish. When you do start up, at least appreciate that you have a company that invest so much into its product that it continually updates their hardware and software to meet player demand. AFAIK they have done 2 graphic engine updates and are currently doing remodels of all items in game. that too me is good customer service.
@paldesic2009 Just so you know. I have played countless video games and none of them are as intriguing as Eve. I love this game because over time you build a relationship with it. No other player is the same as another. The longer you play this game the more you appreciate every microscopic thing about it. If you are willing to work for short and long term goals then this is the game for you. Because nothing is as satisfying in any other game than what you are rewarded with in Eve. I'm stoned.
You know this is a quote from G'Kar in Babylon 5, right? The quote is from an episode titled "Dust to Dust," where G'Kar is speaking to a group of Narns about the history and nature of their people.
@paldesic2009 I'm afraid the game mechanics are quete a bit different from what I picture you imagining them to be, look up some footage before making up your mind. But it is an incredible game, a very specialised one at that, but still incredible and you should at least try a 14 day trial.
im thinking about signing up to EVE, can someobody tell me like could i be a fighter class ship dogfighting with other fighters amongst the chaos of the Huge capital ships? like say one of the smaller ships at 1:06 ? or a small fighter launching from a carriers hangar bay like at 1:20? i mean it looks awesome. someone please get back to me on this.
Yeah, I tried the 5 free days again, and I am happy I still got my 5 year old character, I think I will dedicate all the gaming time I have per day to this game, after a year of investing I will reap the rewards ;)
@startide Not really bashing it. If my parents had let me, I totally would have been all up in WoW. But now that I'm in college, EVE seems more fulfilling. I agree with you, to each his own, just wanted to clear up any misunderstandings on the demographics.

Chris Robato funny thing is it's based 99% on how people have chosen to play the game over the decade or more it's been around. Eve is itself a dark mirror of the real world, it shows exactly how we'd treat each other if there weren't any consequences.
