I love this song! It came up on my feed. I Can't believe it's been 41 years. Look at how beautiful and wholesome she looks. No fake hair, body makeover, excessive make-up, tattoos, etc. Very natural and feminine. I really miss the 80's music, fashion, love and respect we had for one another. God is Love.
I couldn't agree more! I say that too but a little more often lately. It's sad what happened to this world. I really miss those days. I really think those times were the best ❤
OMG Deelovely You just hit a HOMERUN with those comments 🎯 ❤ 🤗😘I'm soooooo damn happy I grew up on this magical sound so grateful to have lived through this era of beautiful music ❤❤The lyrics and that catchy beats just janked ur heartstrings ❤❤for decades ♾️ Do U Agree ?? Good ode days 4REAL 💃🏿❗️😜🦋💋✨️💕💜🤗🌹Still listening how about February 09 2024 💯🦋💋
@@shirleybutler2623That's the day I was born.... This girl really made our times worth living... I'm happy to still been here and listen to her songs... Is such a privelage... ..
Also can I just say. This whole video is simply perfect.. there’s no naked ladies dancing around, flashy cars. Just a beautiful woman in a beautiful place with a beautiful voice
I was born in 1973. White father/ Black mother. My father introduced me to his style of music and my mother introduced me to hers. This was 1982 and Thriller blew this out of the water. I was too young to appreciate it. My mother used to play this alllllll the time on our "hi-fi stereo" with Patrice Rushen, Earth Wind & Fire, Cameo etc. This brings back so many memories of my mother asking me to dance with her. I now keep EVERY SINGLE SONG I come across now. Even if I hate them. I have been collecting since the 80's and digitizing all the music. I have over 150,000 MP3s now.
I just saw the replies. I WISH I could share that. I used to let people borrow my External hard drives with the MP3s. We're talking 100GBs of MP3s here. Any idea what kinda copyright Infringement that would involve? I would gladly share but it would be physical sharing. Music copyrights are nuts!
@@joshuanevermind1530 as long as you say no copyright fringement intended and that the song is owned by the artist in your upload then it should be fine
In my personal all time top 5 records. Probably cos i was 18 in 1982 ..going out round the town in Leicester..this song take's me back over 40years !! Great times , thanks Evelyn for this fantastic tune..❤
Dear Joseph. Evelyn has such a powerhouse beautiful voice. Very underated. Up there with the best! True entertainer. I have this on 12" vinyl, and it sounds surreal through decent speakers. What a voice! I'm still jamming to it. Great baseline. Stay safe Joseph. America looks like it has its problems at the moment, like UK.
I washed my hair today, put a flower in it and at 4pm I heard snatches, couldn’t remember any of this song and FINALLY at 8:39 pm I started to sing the song and came to find the video. They don’t make sweet jams like this any more 🌺
I was a little girl ... parents dj and 80’s urban parties everyday in the summer lol ... I could name off so many ... nostalgic That Laura brannigan was another one ... too many to name here
In 1982 I was 8 years old. that's when I came to the United States of America. and when I first heard this song I was 12 years old.. and I'm still listening to it and I'm 47 and it's 2022.🌍❤️
The music is groovy, with a funky bassline, disco-style drums, and catchy synth hooks. Evelyn "Champagne" King's vocals are on point, she sings with such passion and emotion, it just draws you in.
Textronox ...yes Rest in Heaven Kashif.....he wrote and produced for some big name artist like Evelyn, Melba Moore, Whitney Houston etc....he was a great performer himself!!! Great music and special times....wow!!
Roasting chicken, singing into the oven looking like a crazy man.... Baby you make my love come down... shout out to all the try a long singers ( mic drop ) Big Tune... STILL
I didn't know she wasn't talking about love until I was grown. The sexual connotations within the song is very subtle. Its kind of sad that isn't present in music anymore.
Of all places on earth, I heard this song playing in a Starbucks inside the Wafi Mall in Dubai, UAE a few days ago, and had to find it! One of my favorite 😍 songs from the 80s.
This old school song bring back a lot of memories especially you got this song in the CD player heading out of town on the expressway jamming to the old school songs during the summer day of the 1980s
Saw Evelyn Champagne King AKA "Bubbles" perform in person years ago! On a TV Entertainment show I would dance on! Her age at the time 20 years. In the interview she said her nickname: Bubbles. - Dancing Louie
As much as I love the song, I love the video even more. A beautiful, feminine woman of African descent wearing her natural hair and being adored by a man of African descent. What happened? We went from beautiful images like this to the nonsense that I am seeing being passed off as ''Black music'' these days.
Rock & Soul '95,well said👏👏I was a Teenager Lady in the 1980s. Lady Evelyn Champagne King, she was very Elegant and she had us dancing to all of her hit Gem Songs. Thank goodness that I was in the Era of the 1970s and the earlier 1980s to see first hand of the Elegant Days. I love your Profile Picture. Rest In Sleep Mr.Michael Jackson, you are truly missed😔
I love how simple the videos were back then. No nudity no obscenity just hanging out most of time. Love it when this comes on at paties :) we are always up 😂🎉
Negra hermosa ❤️ que talento tienes , me encanto tu cancion espero volver a escucharla en un futuro la ame tanto y a mi periquito tambien ❤️❤️❤️❤️que talento y que voz hermosa❤️
I’m 48 years old , in this video my beautiful place of birth ST.Thomas USVI 🇻🇮🇻🇮🇻🇮 I used to play on that beach as a little boy Lindburgh Bay ..My mom had this album .. Nostalgia in many ways the 80s were the best!!
Cheers, I was scrolling down hoping to find the location.. Looks so beautiful I want to go. I thought those might be breadfruit trees in the vid. Have they recovered from the Hurricane they had a few years back? Carpentry has to be a way of life with all the hurricanes nowadays?
😂😂😂 lol at my self after rewatching a few times the beach it is actually Magen’s Bay .. The beach I mentioned before is actually named after Charles Lindburgh …which has been affected by storm surge damage from the hurricanes … Magen’s Bay has some what of a natural protection because of where it’s located so storm surge isn’t as severe as other locations …
Good for you ! No sarcasm.. Music just takes us to a better place ! My aunt n sisters use to just dance in grandma's home when she was at work. Miss you Grandma !
Evelyn "Champagne" King takes the stage, her voice a velvet embrace, singing her original song "Love Come Down." With each note, she weaves a tale of love's intoxicating allure, captivating the audience with her soulful delivery. As the music fades, applause fills the air, honoring her timeless talent.❤🎶❤️
RIP to my sister that fattened up this tune as a backup singer. Her name was Marie Council and Miss King was gracious enough to come and meet our family.
@@puppetken My real goal is to get my sister’s name officially recorded as personnel but in the scheme of things the music is the important part. My sister lives in that recording and it gives our family joy.
I am 41 and love this song. I couldn't remember the name of this song. All i knew it was a 80s song. I type ooh love down or come down lol finally i found it.
OMG Mary Tell it like it 😘💃🏿💃🏿💋🥵 This beautiful classic just janked ur heartstrings ❤❤for decades ♾️ 😍 👏🏿 💋😘🥰🫠Great music like this doesn't have a time stamp 🎯 ❤️ 💃🏿💃🏿🌹💕Still listening how about January 13 2024😊🥰💕
