Sir the first eg u have shown in odd signals.. Nd the operation carried out.. Is it time reversal or amplitude revesal.. I cud nt get it.. Thought upon time reversal it wud be from upper side left to origin

How at t=0, odd signal=0 !!? Like in case of rectangular hyperbola. Always odd signal doesn't mean that it will pass through origin. If I'm wrong, please clear my doubt.

What if a signal passes through origin but doesn't match it's other reflection or suppose any signal's wave is matched of the both sides but it doesn't passes through the origin, so in that case what will be the wave called?

It is not accidental. For an odd signal, x(-t) is - x(t), the - implies amplitude reversal.

I think the definition of odd signal is wrong. It should be x(-t) = -x(t); it is called anti-symmetry.

Hello sir.i have a dout in this video that is you have said that odd signal touches the origin but the second example youn said in even signal also touching the origin. Please explain

For odd signals,the signal must pass through origin but it doesn't mean that for even signal the signal should not passs through origin.The even the signal may or may not pass through origin it's not a problem but for odd signals the signal should pass through origin.Condition is for only odd signals..👍👍👍

Sir how dc signal is an even signal, as in starting lecture you said that dc is not a signal.

Hey! Direct current is itself not a signal.But if we look at the output of a rectifier we say it is DC signal because the output is pulsating or varying with "ripples".So there are some DC quantities which can be called DC signals.I hope u understood!

At 5.35, the signal is undergoing folding operation ,so it has to be mirror image about y axis. But why is it folding about x axis also?...pls clarify

Tulya gopisetti he isn't performing folding there. He is stating the condition, i. e., x(-t) = - x(t). Plot the graph, you'll understand. Cheers!

Not necessary. If X(t) = X^2 then it passes through origin but is still even.

The definition of odd is not accurate. Not every function that doesn't remain identical is odd, it has to be identical to itself multiplied by -1
