In my chronicle there's a final chapter
Where the words abruptly end
Leaving you in a cliffhanger
In the past year
All the fishermen's villages on the shore
Got abandoned
For the mist did not spare anyone
It came from the sea
Reaching deep into the land
I bore witness to
What no man can understand
The world around us sure had changed
The call of the water got stronger each day
It brought up primal fear in people's hearts
Inside their souls
The son of none other than Dagon himself
Came from the depths of the ocean's hell
A sign of fate that later befell
Befell us all
The evil that just can't be tamed
Grew in people's minds with every day
A diary entry reads:
'I am losing my mind again
All that I can hear
Is a strange noise in my head
But at least today I can tell one sound apart
Someone's calling me
Beckoning me from afar
Thunderstorm outside
And I feel my eyes popping out
I fear the monster I see in the mirror!'
The world around us sure had changed
The call of the water got stronger each day
It brought up primal fear in people's hearts
Inside their souls
The son of none other than Dagon himself
Came from the depths of the ocean's hell
A sign of fate that later befell
Befell us all
No one was the same anymore
Nor did they belong ashore
The old and rundown pier
Was symbolic in his fate
He now crawled along it
The will of the sea he could not disobey
His diary was soaking wet
But he still dragged it behind him
With all of his last strength
Trying to make notes of what was happening
Then he took a dive
The dark sea welcomed him
Swallowed by the tide
He was never to be seen again

The dark waters' cold embrace
