Even Crazier Things Doctors Removed From Inside People 

My son, at the age of five or six, way too old to still be swallowing strange objects, swallowed a watch battery or as you guys refer to it as a button battery. I immediately called Poison control who said I needed to take him to the hospital. He had an x-ray at the hospital to see where the battery was and we stayed overnight so they could perform an x-ray the next day. The doctor said that if the battery was moving safely through his digestive system by itself there was no need for concern. So after two x-rays and one night in the children's hospital, he was sent home to pass the battery. It was obviously moving through his digestive system without any need for concern. There was no need for emergency surgery as was stated in the video. The video made it sound like your child was going to be in grave danger and would need immediate emergency surgery. Those that may be true in some instances, obviously it is not the case in all of them. I have a healthy eight-year-old boy now you skipped surgery and passed the battery just fine.

A foot long candle to reach the prostate? The prostate is only 2 inches in. Keep that in mind people, it can be reached with fingers or safe objects.

I knew someone once upon a time who was complaining about pain in the bridge of her nose. It finally got so bad that she went for an X-ray, it turned out she had a stem of broccoli stuck there. Somehow when eating it had gone the wrong way and got lodged up there. I don’t know how that would even happen but apparently that’s something that is possible.

Reminds me of the episode of MASH where Corporal Klinger tried to get out of the ARMY by eating a JEEP - he swallowed oil covered nuts/bolts and windshield wipers and after having stomach pains, had to have his stomach pumped get them out.

One time I stupidly put a piece of sea glass in my ear. Managed to remove it without medical intervention by shaking my head and grabbing it when enough of it was sticking out. NEVER PUT ANYTHING IN YOUR EAR THAT YOU CAN'T EASILY REMOVE! The only thing I'll put in my ears now is peroxide, ear drops, water, or the end of a cotton swab. I don't push the cotton swab all the way in when cleaning my ears, just far enough so that there's a pleasant scratching sensation.

Surgery can get very messy with blood blocking a surgeon's vision so I can understand how something like gauze can accidentally be left in a patient. Anything left in a patient is dangerous as it can lead to infection, thus routines have been put in place, surgeons are trained to be hypervigilant of this and so many things have been done to prevent this. Yet somehow *A PAIR OF SCIZZORS* was accidentally left inside a friend of mine after she had a C-section and they closed her up. When they discovered this, their 'brilliant' solution was to just leave them there and tell her not to get pregnant again or she would die. She ended up giving birth one more time after that and in spite of it all, the mom and baby boy are both healthy.

I dont even know how you can swallow a phone. My dad was using a weed-whacker without any safety glasses, because why would you need to use those (sarcasm), and a small piece of metal got hit by the line and it hit him in the eye. He immediately came inside and the whole white of his eye was red, like there was a layer of blood under it. Went to the doctors, they put some eyedrops in, and said they would need the blood to go before they could remove it. This also gave the metal time to create a little rust ring aroung it, making it waaaaay easier for the surgeon to see when they removed it. Which dad was awake for. Watching a needle come at his eye :/

Why on Earth was a 4 year old having a root canal? They don’t even have any permanent teeth at that age, also that’s why we use a rubber dam to isolate the tooth and avoid that exact thing!
