Thanks for posting this. You are one of my favorite youtubers to see have a new video posted, it's almost exactly spot on with what im interested in each time crazy 😊
Thank you so much for this MLP. I'm gonna try installing the official 4.9 on my 2019 model to see what's been fixed, if that's no good or I find something I don't like and I can't switch back to an older firmware, i'll be back downloading this Jailbreak firmware.
Well back to 4.6 I go. I found a bug in the official 4.9 that has turned me off it. 1. For some reason the SMS game ''Psycho Fox'' sounds like a crinkly cassette tape in PAL mode. The PSG square notes have flutter in them and the tones are not clear, they make a wobbly sound. They did fix the screen tearing bug in SMS mode but dicking around with the various settings hoping for a quick fix I discovered that the buffer mode itself is some how tied to this new audio bug and so no thanks, i'm downloading 4.6 and sticking with it forever. I feel sorry for anyone buying the new batch of Mega SG's being stuck on 4.9 and I doubt the jailbreak version fixes this bug. You should always be able to go back to the old firmwares if need be. 4.6 is still the best one (the only sacrifice is not being able to play Chuck Rock CD). Show less
@@ChloeClements34I don't think anyone took the time to test all the games across all the firmwares, that's just too much hasle. These consoles are not going to be 100% accurate like the original hardware. I have the Mega SG, Super NT and the original 2017 NT Mini. On the NT Mini for example, I get music and sound playback issues (the sound is buggy) when playing my PAL copy of Kirby's Adventure, and to fix this I need to switch the NT Mini to NTSC, which will speed up the music in the game but it will make it sound properly. To be honest, I always felt that all these Analogue consoles are made with the NTSC rom/carts files in mind, while the PAL roms/carts will have all sorts of issues.
It's nice they went ahead and made a jailbreak off these new versions, considering it seems like these are likely to be the last updates these devices receive. I suspect a Super NT jailbreak is on the way as well, since that also quietly received a couple updates over the last few months. For those of you wondering as well, I can confirm the NT Mini Noir JB update to work too. It also seemed to fix an issue I was having getting my Retrotink to sync with the analog output.
Not sure if you covered this somewhere MLP, but a cool thing I am noticing about the NT Mini Noir 1.3 FW is the compatibility with the N8 EverDrive. With 1.2 there were just yellow lines and now that is fixed! I have N8 Pro as well and that was working and continues to work which is also a plus.
I just put the latest v6.7 JB firmware on one of my NT Mini Noir v2 consoles. I was having one of the issues listed as being fixed in this version. Battletoads was crashing on level 2. It's working fine now. I've been hoping for a firmware update for another reason. Although I have had no issues getting the Famicom version Everdrive N8 Pro to work, I wasn't able to get the standard Everdrive N8 Famicom version to work and I have 3 to try. No N8 firmware updates or downgrades mattered on the standard Everdrive N8, it just would not display properly on my NT Mini Noir v2 with v6.6 JB firmware. The latest jailbreak firmware v6.7 for the NT Mini fixed the issue and all three are working fine now. Upgrading the firmware does mean all your settings will go back to default. It is well worth the trouble to have some serious issues fixed. I'm thankful to whoever gives us the Analogue jailbreak firmware.
Honesty I prefer getting a Sega Genesis and that fancy rom loader thing that can run Sonic CD and 32x games if I want to play on something like Original hardware.
Thanks for the info. Are there any updates on the Analogue NT version ? Only file I see there is a Readme file, unless I am looking at the website wrong. Thank you !!!
Yep, ya probably missing it, can be confusing looking through a github page for sure. But here is the direct link for the NT Mini Noir version github.com/analoguejb/Analogue-Nt-Mini-Noir-JB/releases/tag/v6.7
The one thats on my main display desktop you saw in this video is called Cyberpunk Devil Girl. Its on Wallpaper Engine, but im sure a search for the name and live wallpaper you should find it elsewhere.
Very suspicious that this new account used the same version system as the old jailbreak (even though they are totally unrelated) and even got the new jailbreak working before the new hardware revision was sent out...very suspicious... 😂
Has anyone here already tried the Mega sd from Terraonion on the new system? Because that does not work for me. I have the new revision of Terraonion's Mega sd. When starting the cardridge, a black screen follows. On the Genesis everything works.
Tried popping this JB firmware onto my just-arrived Mega SG, and it's not working for me. The console isn't reacting to the new file at all. Womp, womp.
Ive had others confirm it worked on their new Mega SG. Make sure the SD card is formatted FAT32 and it should work, make sure the jailbreak bin file is on the root of the SD card.
@@Madlittlepixel So after several reformats and failed attempts, I finally got my Mega SG to read the JB contents of my SD. When I was attempting to install the JB before, the console would just boot to its default menu without ever reading my inserted SD. I finally got it working when I tried holding down the red power button on the console while powering it on-the red light on the power button began to flash on and off as my finger was still pressing it down. After about three seconds, I let go, and the red light on my power button stabilized and stayed on for about 2-3 minutes. Then finally, the light on the power button turned white, and my console booted up with a new JB'd menu. Hope this helps anyone who found themselves in the same boat as me! Thanks, @Madlittlepixel for keeping us in the loop about this hack-you a real one. 💪🏽
I just looked at how much there analogue systems cost. Yikes!!! They are about $300! I wish I had money like that. I can just get a mini pc and do more.
They are 200 if you don't count shipping costs and possible import costs. This uses FPGA and is typically much more accurate than emulation. You can get about the same accuracy with emulation if you use Higan for SNES but that requires a fast processor and you still don't get the low latency through USB. If you don't care about any of that then you're better off getting something cheaper that can emulate.
@@reminon If nobody says anything how are the manufacturers supposed to know if their prices are kinda outlandish? What a weird flex talking about if I can't afford it don't complain🙄 Fyi I can afford it but I'm just not willing to pay $300.
I'd like to hack my mega sg and super nt but I'm not at all tech savvy. I can download roms and I've hacked my mini systems but I'm scared of bricking the expensive analogues cos I'm a novice. But it would be sweet to play off sd and not buy everdrives
Don’t need a Sega Genesis clone when I can hack the entire collection I rather get the sega Saturn or sega Dreamcast that never got released in classic mini size the reason is cause they weren’t failure consoles if you played X-men Vs street fighter on the Sega Saturn it delivers you the arcade experience if you played marvel vs capcom on the sega Dreamcast it delivers you the arcade experience that the PS1 couldn’t do that’s why you see the PS1 got released as a mini classic cause it wasn’t great the same as the arcade I still today hate the PS1 Sony didn’t need to release they should of waited until 2001 like Microsoft and released their first console then the one they call PS2 that should of been their first console
Why do you buy all this garbage? Is it just for reviews for the channel or do you actually collect all of these clone consoles? A sega genesis is like $50 and a CRT television is usually free.
Im confused, like I watch youtube videos rite.. but I only watch things I am actually interested in.. things that I am into. I dont waste my time going to a video about something I dont have any interest in or think is garbage and post comments questioning why that person posts content on things that interest them. Seems like a big waste of time, not productive at all. But whatever I guess some people are just lost and dont know whats going on.
It's hard to find a good condition CRT these days. The geometry and sharpness goes as they age and there's no way to reverse that. They are also massive so if you move around they're not a realistic option. For that reason I got a SuperNT to use with original carts on modern HDMI displays.
