100%, if they are the best conferences they should get those spots anyway but things change overtime and their will be years where a non SEC or Big Ten team dominants (at least I hope).
I think every conference champ should be in and then a few at larges. Yes most G05 teams would get blown out, but those conferences would be more interesting and more competitive overtime if they can win their way into the playoff and compete on the big stage. Also no team can complain about being left out. Maybe just simply have 9 confernces champs and 7 at larges and do a 16 team playoff, although that might be too many at large teams to keep the regular season interesting. I thought my idea worked better with a 10 and 6 model with the PAC-12 still around. Maybe 9-5.
I don't think college should have a two minute warning. For the reasons you said, especially about making CFB like the NFL. I like CFB and I like the NFL but I like that they have these differences that make them unique like the one foot in bounds vs two feet in bounds rule.
FSU's exclusion is being used as a post-hoc justification for showing even more favoritism to B1G and SEC, just as I expected. Because, "hey, the ACC champion couldn't even make it into the playoff at 13-0, surely that proves just how strong the B1G and SEC are in comparison, right?" - as if the decision to exclude them was ever based on any statistical reality rather than television interests, lol. This sport is ruined.
