The reason why Nellis interior was switched might be because enabling and disabled a lot of objects in a cell can cause weird errors in the engine including CTD. Way easier to just switch interiors than risk potential crashes. Not to mention, it’s a pain in the ass in the editor to build two different set prices on top of each other. Look at the Megaton house in the GECK. It looks like a complete pain in the ass to deal with.
Fuck 2020, but thank you so much for all the support you've given me throughout the year. It made it much more bearable and it means the world to me 🖤🖤🖤
I think the Nellis Greenhouses were inaccessible to prevent a pretty annoying mapmarker bug. If the greenhouses for Nellis were still around, the map markers would think that you could step into a greenhouse at the Sharecropper Farm and walk out a different door into Nellis. The map markers don't really understand concepts like "walls" so the game would just go around acting like the Sharecropper Farms and Nellis have a magical portal between them. (I had to radically alter a greenhouse in a mod I'm working on for this exact reason.)
I've had that exact problem with the Nellis greenhouses, lol. Not sure if they were restored by a mod or if it was an earlier update where they were still in, but I remember thinking it was the weirdest thing at the time thanks to not knowing about the greenhouse worldspace.
If only consoles hadn't existed at the time, that would have gone a long way. I'm still not sure why the 'buy really weak walled garden PC to play games on' meme has lasted this long.
Orgus Din Console weren’t the reason the NV was rushed and buggy, it was because Obsidian only had 14 months to make the game, Consoles are pretty good at running New Vegas, so your point doesn’t make much sense.
Obsidian’s New Vegas is such an inspiration. Being someone who is an aspiring game dev it’s awesome going through this game and seeing what makes an RPG great. Seeing the cut content gives you ideas of underdeveloped aspects that would make an already great RPG even better.
6:26 There is another, Ranger Station Charlie before and after attacked by the Legion. Once I made ED-E stay before talking to Ranger Andy, and when I came back he's not there and stuck in that purgatory.
Holy shit you final gave me the answer that I was pondering about ever since my first playthrough, during which loyal disappeared and I had no clue why, now I know, thanks
@@ashtondoublet8334 Raquel also got buggy and has no dialogue options anymore than "Goodbye" but yeah she is mourning over the loss of Loyal, he got sent through the gates of Oblivion
Fun Fact: The Child at Heart perk is readded to the game thanks to the Simply Uncut mod. Uncle Leo the Super Mutant is also added to the game thanks to that mod. I found him in Novac and had a great convo with him about the DC Wasteland and his encounters with the Lone Wanderer. Triangle, whats your mod list btw?
6:25 there actually is another instance of a cell being switched after a certain amount of time and it's the ranger station South of Novac after a certain amount of time or if you do the quest for the ranger in Novac the the door to the interior cell of the station is switched out for a door that leads to a destroyed version of the interior with everyone in it dead.
Yeah. Although in my first playthrough it pretty much got wiped out onscreen because I came there running away from a legion patrol. I legit thought reporting it got wiped out was just a nice failsafe.
Imagine they took the concept art with that bigger size in mind and made a whole new fallout new Vegas remake in a new engine picture metro exodus as an example of size but as a fallout game
I think it was a good choice to disable the robots from vault 22. I think it's genuinely jarring and amazing to find Keely alive, having the robots would kinda kill that sense of finding intelligent remains.
Holy shit MORE??? You could make a whole other game with all the cut content. Still can't believe the game is as amazing as it is with all of this missing.
I fell in love with this game in 2010 and never understood why. A game has never came close and never will I believe. I’m glad to see there are others just as obsessed with this game and hungry to just hear whatever new information this game has to offer. I love your channel bro absolutely can’t get enough of it
I did have the glitch where loyal teleports to black mountain, but I assumed I was just seeing things at the time. Good to know I'm not just entirely insane
This is incredibly obscyre, but im pretty sure the prospector cave, outside primm also switches cells after it gets populated. I found this out the hard way :,(
I honestly think you are the single most underrated and unappreciated channel on RU-vid, I hope to see cut content for Fallout new vegas for a long time.
I actually once got the glitch where loyal is teleported to BM in the ps3 version, except, he was just under the ground not dead, the glitch triggers randomly I think
Episode 48? How in the world did I miss a series like this about my favourite game of all time for so long?!?!?!? Definitely subscribing now. Cheers from Canada!
@@BungieStudios A lot of reasons. Even when you cut out half of the original scope it could have had it's left as one of the best WRPGs ever made. When you mod a lot of the cuts back in and then some it gets even better.
I just want them to make it again, with the technology of fallout 4, scale the size of the map up a bit, add settlements etc. Restore all the cut content, legitimize some of the mods and incorporate them fully. it really doesn’t seem that hard. The only thing stopping them is Bethesda and specifically Tod’s ego.
I didnt know the "space soldier" dialogue was cut. I swear i remember using that dialogue option to get the c-finder and hearing that exact clip of audio, but it could just be a false memory
Just found another comment on this video saying they had Child of Heart on PS3, and said it perhaps was restored in the Collector's Edition (or patched out but that seems unlikely)
Bohr seems like he's a nice enough dude. Ghouls and pre-war robots are always some of my favorite NPCs and I wish we'd gotten to see more of them. I ran a restoration mod for them and I honestly kind of liked it; to me it amps up the survival/horror element of the Vault, since helping other survivors in trouble is a core mechanic of most such games.
iv'e definitely used child at heart before on the ps3. I specifically remember each of the mini boomers having a unique dialogue option that would increase your rep. Im guessing it was removed via a patch or re added in the ultimate edition (which according to another comment restored a bit of cut content)
I used a 360 modded starter save something like elysian x mods, which had every perk including the removed perks that are still present in the game files.
Dude, this is REALLY good content. Keep covering the Fallout games! They have some of the most interesting lore. Love the amateur camera work too, you should add shots from far away more, give New Vegas that feeling of being big. fun videos, keep up the hard work
There's a cell switch at ranger station charlie. A pre attack and post attack version. Post-attack triggers after Andy at Novac asks you to check up on people. I wonder how many cell swaps are in the game.
After I killed the super mutants on black mountain I went back for looting and there was like 4 boomers walking the mountain. My theory is maybe they need radio parts for the plane so they raid the mountain for it
If you play Tales of Two wastelands you can pick the child at heart perk making all of the cut dialogue and quests accessible and working perfectly. It makes you wonder why the perk was even cut
Well, I guess there's not nearly as many quests that use it, what with there being markedly less children in FNV, and it would take up one of a limited number of perk slots, for a finite number of uses.
5:10 This is the same reason why you need to swim away from Unagi the Eel in Jolly Roger Bay in Super Mario 64, in order to get him out of the ship. He actually teleports out off-camera.
new vegas is in that core group of games that I just feel compelled to deep dive into every year or two, along with some other favorites like paper mario 64, metroid prime, and the pikmin trilogy Of course, New Vegas runs being like 100-200 hours makes this unfeasible, so I like watching analysis videos like this instead. Thanks for the sutff
Loyal got sent to black mountain then to a death claw nest and I had to do a song and dance of getting him to load in but not the death claws just to finish the damn quest It was my first playthru too so I was completely confused as to why a boomer was outside the base
having studied latin for many years, i just have to say it. the quest "Volare!" it's a latin word that means "Fly!" the letter V is actually pronounced like a W in latin. The quest name would be pronounced "Whoa-La-Ray"
If I had a nickel for every time a child in post-apocalyptic Nevada asked me to find their teddy bear, I'd have two nickels, which isn't a lot but it's weird that it's happened twice.
What does he mean about not adhering to guidelines when developing children? The only kids I even remember in the game are all the kids in Freeside and the Boomers tour kid, they were pretty out of the way and inoffensive to me??
@@TriangleCity just learned from TK-Mantis that the atomic wrangler crier in freeside central is voiced by a voice actress that only ever voiced kids, and was actually 13 herself, so I guess that covers the offensive part ._.
@@collin9378 Considering at our school we had to have a gymnasium gathering because the 12-14 year olds were saying and doing the most explicit things possible, including a 13 year old with sex therapist in her bio on insta, its ahead of its time kids today are as screwed without proper parents as the post apocalypse Though I don't see how the crier is supposed to be a kid
be cool to see your content on Half-Life's cut content the sheer amount of ideas and changes we know about is mind boggling. where new vegas has a bunch of smaller things changed/cut for performance/technical reasons. Half life 2 had a completely different setting, the characters we know today are usually amalgams of ideas that never made it into Half life 1 (judith mossman) Eli vance is a amalgam of captain vance and eli maxwell. the former being the resistance leader and the latter a peculiar looking wasteland scientist. Half life alyx for example has a whole 2 hour intro that was cut down to whats in the retail build. or the original VR firearms you uses that are 2 handed are used by the combine soldiers. some of them still have animations for cut weapon mods like the shotguns tau cannon mod. Also i recommend considering looking at the unfinished build of the outer worlds DLC 2 that's currently sitting in the games files. has a bunch of TTS lines for character dialouge and stuff but its interesting to say the least.
That's strange, I got the angry dialogue with jack after letting Janet go through the artillery. I do have some community patches installed though so one of those might have restored the dialogue
That Loyal bug happened a month back to me while playing on the PS4 (PS3/PS Now) version, and now I just have that one quest stuck in my log forever as well as stuck not haven completed Rauls quest, rip.
it's sad so much was left on the cutting room floor. Do you think it would be possible to have some of these features restored to the PC version of the game through mods because the limitations of hardware aren't as serious as attempting to get the game running on console?
