Can you beat Fallout: New Vegas as an Omerta? Two sides, either Nero & Big Sal or Cachino. If you're siding with Nero & Big Sal, you have to complete How Little We Know by siding with them, and the weapons you're restricted to are the sawn-off shotgun and the assault carbine. Additionally, it's a Legion run, since the whole purpose of their scheme is to work with the Legion. If you side with Cachino, you're instead restricted to using only the .44 Magnum and must do an Independent run. Additionally, you're not allowed to go on massacres at any locations on the Strip, since the bloodshed would be bad for business. Either way, you're only allowed to wear the white pinstripe suit and fedora combo that all Omertas wear, sunglasses optional. And, of course, _you may not kill any Omertas_ (outside of those the quest requires, that is). Chems are allowed, since the Omertas use them. Alternate ammo types are as well, which might come in exceptionally handy if you side with Cachino, since the .44 SWC rounds are arguably the most overpowered ballistic ammo in New Vegas.
Apologies again about this not being a Fallout 1 video, it's long overdue and the 25th anniversary would have been perfect. I will definitely try to get the issues sorted and get to it sooner rather than later.
The challenge reason for giving Primm to the NCR is that the Vault Dweller was the one who rescued Tandy, who became the best president of the NCR. He also saved Shady Sands, which is the capital of the NCR. Edit: Also, why would That Gun be excluded. It's very much based upon the .223 Pistol, from the first 2 Fallout games.
I'm saddened about how few of the lesser known/used guns from the classic fallouts aren't used in modern games, but the mod that adds them in is quite good Especially the needler pistol, or, the gun take comes in multiple varieties to shoot bbs, nails, or darts (which is especially strong in TTW since they have added multiple dart recipes for the poisons in New Vegas)
@@markhirsch6301 I'm glad they added the Bozar in the GRA dlc for NV, although i don't use it because the medicine stick outclasses almost every gun in the game, it's nice to have some recognition for the weapon that carried my ass through Fallout 2. Also i wish they added the desert eagle from F1/F2, and also more of the mob related weapons from F2.
going NCR is actually the best thematically because the vault dweller helped the people who founded the NCR , where as every other group had no affiliation what so ever with the vault dweller.
You should do it as the chosen one as well, doing all the quests for Marcus, grab Cass as a follower and do her quest, do Arcade Gannon's quest for the power armor, only use items that in fallout 2, and if you do the quest for one of the casinos you can't gamble, buy things, or do quests for the other casino's
some more rules and stuff to do for this challenge, side with the ncr and help the brotherhood, destroy the Khans, use rex, and use wild wasteland (although you already do that in most challenges)
Actually, siding with the NCR would probably be what the Vault Dweller would do. You technically help start the NCR in Fallout 1. Also again, having the Vault Dweller get the BoS and NCR work together makes sense, he was a BoS member and they worked with the very early NCR against the Army of Super Mutants while the Vault Dweller and the Followers of the Apocalypse took down the Master.
@@sorrenblitz805 yeah but my point is the vault dweller didn't really work with them against the super mutants since they didn't even know what super mutants were at the time.
Can you beat Fallout 4 as Preston Garvey? Gain his duster and hat by getting him as a companion and putting clothes on him to gain it and help every single settlement. Of course use the laser musket only for offence. Edit: you can pretend to be a synth of Garvey.
optional can use the flamer aswell, as he seems to almost carry one around sanctuary, at least each time I start a new game and get him. I dont even know where he gets it from either lol
@@theLOSTranger234 did you take the castle? theres one that spawns there and in my experience he always swipes it during the queen fight if i don't take it first.
@@overboss9599 maybe... but few times he just has it before I even start making my way down to the castle. (or when I get there. he has it already lol maybe Preston Gravy ran by those raiders by the ironworks lol who knew he was such a secret bad-arse
@@iLoveBuckets69 tfw Preston thinks he's Preston but he killed Preston to become Preston at the whims of Preston's general who runs the Institute (featuring Preston)
Obligatory "Can You Beat New Vegas as The Chosen One?" I mean, canonically, we don't have a whole lot on the courier's backstory, and if the Chosen One was around 16 ish in Fallout 2, then they'd be in their 50's I believe. Also, if you got JIP companions you can make anyone a companion, so you could have Jacob as a companion. That or you install mods adding the followers back
@@luizhenriquebraunermoraes3175 Wow, I dunno how the hell I forgot the name, guess I thought of Jacobstown and thought it was named after the super mutant. I'm disappointed in myself now, good catch!
He could also just use the mod that makes marcus a companion. Isn't even really cheating since you can get a super mutant companion 10 seconds away from him anyways
@@mappingshaman5280 and the leigon is the German Empire and in new Vegas the courier is a civilian volunteer and then they choose what side they fight for and they ask for help from other countries
Nerbit after he realizes that you can mod the weathered 10mm: Why are we still here, just to suffer ( but yes you can add mods to that unique weapon, which gives me an idea; Can you beat Fallout: New Vegas with only uniques that can be modded. Also, you must mod them whenever you can. Try to get to the end of the run with all guns having 1 or more mods) Edit: I mean gun mods. Ofc you can only mod on PC
Posted this on twitter for you as well but challenge suggestion for spooky season being can you beat fallout 3 as Freddy Krueger? Use the ghoul mask a fedora and the deathclaw gauntlet as well as whatever outfit you deem closest to his clothing. And you decide to complete things however you expect Freddy would
@@luizhenriquebraunermoraes3175 that would be great but I don’t even know how you would go about creating him in Skyrim so I recommended fallout 3 instead
A pretty challenging but potentially cool spooky run would be beating NV or 4 as Jason. Machete only and more importantly, only walking in combat. I figure stealth would be allowed because for a big guy he sure shows up suddenly, but in combat you have to walk up to enemies slowly and menacingly. Vats is probably okay to use as well though because Jason is known to teleport... somehow.
Siding with the NCR makes sense for The Vault dweller. He is the reason they were even able to form since its canon that you save Tandi their first president and Shady Sands in the events of fallout 1.
Found out this channel after Paul from Mitten Squad stopped making content. Been loving it so far. Keep on it. I hope you do challenges on The Elder Scrolls franchise and Starfield in the future.
@@DarrellThody Still, I respect his intentions to go on a hiatus until he can get his life in order. I love challlenge run videos, and I'm thankful that Nerbit is able to provide the content I'm looking for.
@@Nerbit13098 I'm never one to turn away any skyrim run, that game is a blast. I finished doing a unarmed only run recently and it was great fun. I look forward to the next one, whether its my idea or any other!
Canonically, it would make sense the Vault Dweller sides NCR- saved Tandy, helped get Shady Sands up and running. Sadly, I can't gripe about you killing the Khans in this run, because the Vault Dweller did that too. Killing radscorpions is also something he did for Shady Sands. Killing the Enclave is what his grandkid did. Getting the Brotherhood on board is another thing the Vault Dweller did. You can repair the Vault 13 armor with Combat Armor.
Wow, I really loved when Raiden, Old Snake, Venom Snake, and Courier 6 all teamed up to take down Super-Terrorist Liquid Lanius. Truly a masterpiece that only the legendary Hideo Avellone could write. 18:29
Thankyou for shrinking down the sped up fight, made it so I could actually watch it without triggering my epilepsy! Don't worry about this not being a fo1 video, can't help it when your tech is being shit, cool challenge 🙏
Yo, I started a new run for Fallout 4 the other day and I think you might enjoy it! It's a feral ghoul run, you can only use your fists (or knuckles), and you can only heal with the cannibal perk, sleeping, and using rads with the ghoulish perk
Also to clarify the no healing items part, you can use any aid as long as it does not directly heal you, so med-x, jet, rad-away, ect. are all totally good to use! No armor restrictions
Can't help but feel that The Vault Dweller, and Fallout 2 as well should be a VATS only run. Do love the good old Weathered 10mm though, in my first NV playthrough it was my primary weapon for half the game and I still used it for special kills like wiping out Caesar and his cronies right to the end.
Shoutout to that legion soldier at the dam fight that, after you were already dead, ran all the way over to smack you in the face with his sledgehammer.
It's a shame you didn't allow the t-45 power armor as an option, since the Vault Dweller almost always ends up getting it for themselves at some point. But i guess that would have made things too easy lol. Great video! Im tempted to try this run myself
Can you beat Fallout: New Vegas completely neutral? For every action you take, you have to do something to cancel it out, making things neutral again. If you gain karma, you have to lose karma to compensate. If you gain fame with a faction, you have to gain infamy with them as well (so probably a yes man or mr. house ending). If you hit an attack, you have to miss one as well. If you buy an item, you have to steal one as well. If you heal yourself with an item, you have to heal someone else as well. And finally if you complete a quest, you have to fail one as well.
There were three presets for the Vault Dweller in the original game: A charismatic smooth talker, a lumbering brute, and a sneaky femme fatale. All of whom had portraits, I guess you could have made a character looking like one of the three.
The young hearts quest has an unexpected challenge when a band of legion assassins appears and murders Janet; I took me reloading a prior save (several times mind you) and carefully ambushing the assassins to complete this quest. Classic pack includes 5 Stimpacks
Nerbit!!! Always a pleasure to see another video. Just wanted to say that, thanks to your content alone, you’ve inspired me to purchase both Fallout 3 and New Vegas, and will probably do challenge runs of my own. So uh…for that, thank you!
Nerbie (yes Nerbie), the reason i love your videos so much is in every one you manage to make another new and relevant joke even though you've been doing these for years. Like saying "nothing special" when doing your S.p.e.c.i.a.l skills cracked me up!!!
I'll just make this suggestion again: after liberating the slaves of Skyrim, I feel immortal, time and dimension hopping Lincoln would feel it's his duty to free the corporate slaves of the Outer Worlds and Cyberpunk 2077
Can you beat Fallout NV as Gordon Ramsey? -Only weapons you can use are kitchen utensils. -Only heal with food you have crafted. -Always pick the rudest dialogue option.
That is something that made me sad, playing through early New Vegas the first few times, wanting to upgrade my weapon, but not finding anything better than the weathered 10 mm. I think it even is better than That Gun
What's odd is that if he gave up his weapons to swank and gave him proof Benny was planning on killing house he would have just given Nerbit his weathered 10 mm pistol back and they would not have shot at him unless he killed Benny in the lobby
I don’t know where to say this, but there is a good challenge for Skyrim that you haven’t done yet. Can you beat Skyrim as a true craftsman. The rules of the run are simple: the only things you can pick up ready to use are the pickaxe, woodcutters axe, and fishing rod. All armor, weapons, potions, and food have to have their resources harvested and crafted into a finished product before being used
Nerbit I want to first say thank you, Nerbit you've made me and many others a happier person to see Abe Nerbit Lincoln in the commonwealth. The videos you create are in the field of huh that's interesting but its your narration of them and the ironically weird happenings make them 100 times funnier and enjoyable. PS Maybe another multi part multi fallout challenge could be Harry Callahan from the dirty harry tetralogy (4 Movies) ################################################################# If you feel lucky the rules are as follows #Weapons# .44 magnum (Long barrel) (Smith & Wesson Model 29) Main weapon Bolt action rifle (Winchester Model 70) switch blade C4 (any Bomb type pipe or dynamite etc. ) .44 auto mag #Don't ask about these last two Weapons# Harpoon gun rocket launcher (M72A1 LAW) #Clothing# Suit and tie (brown or tan color suit) (if no jacket is available button up and slacks is fine)
Just another amazing Video, just like always. A little Challenge: Beat Fallout 4 or New Vegas as a Peaky Blinder. Meaning in NV, you can only use the Tommy- Gun from the DLC and wearing the Ultra- Luxe- Suit, or for Fallout 4 only with the Tuxedo, the Newsboy Cap and the SMG
you could increase your damage output by an insane amount if you took the Hand Loader perk during runs where you get 90 repair. the ammo it allows you to make at the bench does anywhere from 25-75% more damage.
I know it would've been tedious as all hell, but only allowing yourself to shoot in VATS would've been that little extra stroke of masochism to make the run extra spicy. Still great work as always though!
I know you said you had no reason to work with NCR in this run, but it still works out. Canonically the vault dweller helped shady sands, which led to the creation of the NCR. So siding with them here makes perfect sense.
A suggestion: Can you beat Fallout: New Vegas with true maximum agility? The gist is that you would start by going into Dead Money and using the clothes exchange glitch to boost your agility as far as the game will allow, and then play the rest of the game with the game-breaking effects. For extra flavor you could focus it around being the "world's fastest draw", only using revolvers and trying to start and win as many duels as possible. Wouldn't be difficult by any means, but might be fun.
Throwing out this idea again just to make sure Nerbit's aware of it. Fallout 4 Golden Boy challenge: only level SPECIAL, no perks. Must get at least 10 in every stat, maybe use the bobbleheads to get 11 if you feel like putting a cherry on top of the run.
oh yeah lets make this a running thing cant wait for "can you beat fallout new vegas as the courier", "can you beat fallout 3 as the lone wanderer" and of course "can you beat fallout 4 as the lone survivor
I mean, siding with the NCR is the closest canon ending for the vault dweller since canonically he did save one of the founding members of the NCR(that one chick in the first town that ends up kidnapped that you can save was the first president of the NCR IIRC)
I don't know what to call this challenge. But here's a challenge idea, you can only use items that are given to you. You can't pick them up off the dead you can't find them even if they are dungeon rewards. You can't buy them, I think it would be okay if you ask for them but if you want it to be even harder you can make it to where literally only when the NPCs give you something can you use it.
I know it’s entirely superfluous but I’d love if you did the questline where you send those ghouls into space. Easily my favorite quest on my first playthrough and I was so happy when I learned I could betray them right at the end
The first time I watched one of your videos I could barely understand you because English is not my first language and your accent gave me a hard time LOL but I immediately subscribed nevertheless and BOY do I love your videos and humour!
Challenge Idea: Can you beat Fallout 4 by only selecting No in Dialogue. Basically Hitting No/whichever option is on the right every single time. Assuming you can't complete the game this way, how few times can you hit yes?
We better still get the video of Fallout 1 whenever you gets things working. Still, appreciate everything you do and going to watch this to cure my hangover.
The nice thing about you doing it in the Mojave is that lore wise it is quite close to where F1 and F2 took place, being in California and the Mojave being in Nevada
Spiffing Brit did a very fun challenge recently where he tried to survive a hundred day on legendary and survival mode difficulty. I personalty thin you should try that challenge.
