The cobbles in the boxes are the original ones as Horse Guards is a Grade 1 Listed Building so everything must be restored as it was originally .

Awesome video John. I hope you are feeling better. FYI: for your friend, a wasp or bee sting: remove barb, cleanse area, gently wipe with a cotton ball dipped in apple cider vinegar to neutralize the venom; open a warm tea bag or use tobacco mixed in warm water and place leaves over site to reduce inflammation (10 to 20 minute intervals); apply a mixture of baking soda and water to help with irritation, itching, etc, as needed. What is annoying is certain guards letting people touch their horses when there is a sign up saying don't touch the horses. It's about time that all the guards tell the tourists not to touch their horses because you let one do it they all start doing it. What is the point in having the signs up if the guards won't enforce the rules. 🙄 The horses are so much more, calmer when they are not being pawed at by loads of tourists.

She is such a beauty. Her coat has a lovely luster to it. But I hate it when they constantly paw at her as if she is there for them .I always thought of a barrier to enforce boundaries. I miss Ormonde. I hope he will return.I so appreciate your videos, all the best for you on your holiday.

Nobody knows why some Guards let people touch the horses and some Guards are very strict with the rules. Even John is wondering why. Maybe after the re-opening of the horse boxes all the Guards will enforce the rules.

have been watching another you tuber who has been to horse guards. the boxes nearly finished, just doors to be repainted. large white square on front of boxes supposedly to let tourists know to stay behind lines? I'm not sure. guards look good on other uniforms similar to what captains wear.

The uniform is Dismounted Review Order as there are no Mounted Guards until 24th September , they will then return to full Ceremonial uniforms .
