Remco Evenepoel is probably the most known cyclist in the world. But the World ITT Cycling champion now has a plan. Winning the Tour de France 2024 with the Soudal Team of Patrick Lefevere, Mikel Landa or Ilan Van Wilder. Could he win the Yellow Jersey in 2024 against monsters such Jonas Vingegaard or Tadej Pogacar ?

This year's TDF is gonna be fkin crazy: Sepp wants to dissolve his guilt of a gifted Vuelta, Remco has to prove he can win it, Pogačar wants it back, Vingegaard wants to keep it, and Primož Roglič has Father Time ticking up his . . . you know what! Wow! What an event it's gonna be!

Sepp is not going for the GC unless Jonas crashes. They might let him take a stage, that's about it. Also, he probably has zero "guilt" about winning the vuelta. You know nothing about cycling as you are clueless about what effort level it takes to hold the red jersey for so many stages. His teammates simply domestiqued for him as is required by anyone to win the Vuelta. He proved worthy when he didn't lose it after the ITT or after being attacked by his teammates.

I’m a huge Remco fan and I want to clarify that he and Quickstep never intended him to compete in the 2023 TDF. I find the intro to this video stating ambivalence to be disingenuous, but what I find most bizarre is that you didn’t even mention that Roglic is going to the TDF with Bora.

A good title to get lots of vieuwers 🤨. Jonas and Pogacar have the most chanses to win the yellow. Remco and Roglic are the 2 BIG outsiders ! If it wasnd for covid Remco would have won the Giro 2023 . He even mannaged it with covid in his boddy to win that TT . He was looking so bad when he arrived that TT . BTW I for sure not 1 of the GC riders would risk it to take sommething to improve there prestations. This days the labo's find everything in youre blood ore urine ....

Alaphilippe not going to the Tour? He could have been to Evenepoel what Sepp Kuss is to Jonas Vingegaard. But I guess Alaphilippe doesn't want to play that role.

Yeah, he asked to do the Giro, the only GT he hasn't participated in yet. And likely he wants to prove he still has something left with this being a contract year for him. I was surprised that Lefevere let him, then again a domestique that rides against his will isn't much of a benefit.

@@lesflynn4455 Nah, everything we know of their relationship points to it being good. Alaphilippe just wants to ride the Giro for a change and likely to complete the triple (winning a stage in every GT). Add to this the Olympics and it being a contract year and it is clear riding the TdF in function of Remco doesn't fit best with his plans.

Remco has to ride the tour against the best, to see if he can avoid an off days against the best. But Remco does not have to win the tour to make his career. He already is an exceptional cyclist with an exceptional palmares. He is already has a Vuelta win. The tour has to be seen. For now, he seems to build up more fatigue, probably because he goes to deep early in grand tours. Most of all he is an exciting rider and an incredible escape artist.

He's overrated in the sense he will never win a grand tour again. But he's also underappreciated by the haters. Look at his victories and it's still amazing regardless.
