I’m revisiting this video for the 20th time over the last year and it never gets old! I love the way you divide your skin care routine into 2 separate full videos (am & pm) and I especially appreciate the split screen!! I know your routine doesn’t vary much but I hope you will duplicate this format with updates on an annual basis. Thank you so much for giving us over 50 crowd such well researched, quality videos!!

I have to say during my 50's I didn't pay much attention to my skin and whatever little products and makeup I was using was fine. Now I'm 66 and I got one of those very magnifying mirrors and I was shocked at my skin! The usual face masks I used to use no longer worked and my usual makeup looked horrible settling in my now very enlarged pores and in my wrinkles. I started slowly following Angies skin care routine and even in a just a few weeks now I see a wonderful difference!! I am so grateful for your videos thank you so much!

I’m a newbie to your videos. I’m 74 and decided to adopt most of the anti-aging skin care elements on your list (a few things, i will use up what I have). I have to say, after 4 weeks, my skin has changed for the better. I was already using Retin A, so it’s the addition of the other things that have made a difference! Thank you!

I rotate my skin care products each evening so I'm not putting on so many harsh products at once. My dermatologist said you don't need to use Retin A every evening. Once you've acclimated to it, 2-3 times per week is sufficient.

Every doc gives different advice. If your skin can handle it, there is no reason not to use it every night other than you could be just wasting product. Also we are all different and have different needs and concerns.
@treesaregreen32

Yes, I’ve also been told that you should really only use one active ingredient at a time. This reduces the risk of irritating your skin, and it’s also not clear how different products will interact with each other when you apply them all at once. Additionally, if you apply a product to skin that’s already covered in other products, it’s possible that it won’t be nearly as effective as when you apply it by itself.

I've used the Paula's Choice 2% BHA for 20 years. It is perfect for large pores. 😁
@GracefulBeautyWithSheri
@GracefulBeautyWithSheri 5 лет назад
@@LoveABun nothing technically makes pores smaller BUT usually what makes our pores look big is the dirt and oil inside the pore so the pores are stretched out and "look" big. This takes about a week to start seeing the results (for me at least) It goes deep down into the pore and chemically kinda scoops all that stuff out and then the pores look tight and skin is glowing. Start slow if you have never tried this product. If you use everyday at 1st and your skin isn't adjusted to it, you will peel like a snake. I now use it a few days a week. It's amazing!

I agree @Graceful Beauty. I've used it for a bout 5-7 years and it definitely helps with my large pores. It also does a great job at keeping any breakouts under control. As long as I am consistent with it, I never get breakouts. I also love using it right before my Retin-A, as the Paula's Choice BHA has a nice "slip" to it and helps my Retin-A spread better.
@Stellina

@@GracefulBeautyWithSheri Agree with everything you said. I just wanted to add that I prefer Paula's Choice 2% BHA lotion because I feel it is easier to put it only where you need it. I am 38 yrs old and my am routine is vitamin c for face and neck then top it with olay whipped moisturizer with spf 25, then i top if with either spf 50 or 100. My pm routine is cerave hydrating facial wash, witch hazel toner, the ordinary granactive retinoid 5%, the ordinary copper buffet serum (i do rub my serums including retinoid on my under eyes and lids and neck and no irritation on me), roc eye cream, then lastly olay moisturizer red jar. My skin looks glass like in the am when i wake up i love it. My fine lines under eyes are significantly reduced and my face is plumped and very smooth. Dark spots are significantly reduced. I do wear spf 100 and wear hat when i am out and spf 50 when i know i will not be going anywhere that day. Definitely going to invest in one of those mini fridge for my bathroom upstairs since my serums are in my fridge downstairs now.

Hi Angie, I have been using your skincare routine for AM and PM for over a year now. At 62 my skin looks really good! My 40-year-old co-worker told me that she was "jealous" of how good my skin looked! I am preparing to travel in a motorhome for a year to see this beautiful country and visit friends and relatives next year and am simplifying everything. I appreciate your reference to the 3 essentials - Retin A, Sunscreen, and Moisturizer. However, if I was to go somewhere in between everything you are using and the basics, what would you recommend? I would guess AM - Moisten Face, Timeless Vit C, Moisturizer and Sunscreen and PM Double Cleanse, Retin A, Moisturizer. Maybe the Sukari Baby Facial once per week? It has been interesting to simplify everything in this busy world! Thank for all of your work, testing, and education.

I'm also 62, and have good skin (genetics and avoiding the sun). My skin is also not oily or dry, so I can do a minimal routine. AM: water rinse (with microfiber washcloth), Timeless C, sunscreen. PM: CeraVe cleanser and microfiber, an acid (I switch between several but one will do), strong retinol 3-4 times a week, and Drunk Elephant's Protini (moisturizer with peptides). In the winter I add a HA serum. I need to switch from retinol to something stronger, but that's about it.

Hi Angie, during isolation while working at home, I don't want to wear foundation anymore, I just want to go au naturel. So I've been binging on your Skincare routines on evenings and week-ends. You are a wealth of information, there is so much to learn. I'm a little embarrassed to say that I'm turning 56 this year and have a very, very basic skincare routine, just cleanse and moisturize. Been using CERAVE products for over 30 years. I've never since my youth suffered from pimples, acne or scarring, or sun damage. My mom had fabulous skin until the day she died at 82. I have olive skin, normal to combination skin, no wrinkles or crows feet. I've always drank a lot of water, so I have a lot of elasticity in my complexion and my skin feel goos. Never enjoyed the sun, so I avoid it, I'm a snow bunny instead. Although I always chose products with SPF, never wore Sunscreen on it's own, after watching your video I realize how important it is now. The only issue with my complexion is age spots, and malasma I think it's called, a little discolouration - hence the reason I wear foundation and I love good lipstick. My dream would be to have clear, flawless complexion, so I have no need to wear any foundation. I love the way that you explain all the products and ingredients. Never used any products with Retinol and am thinking of trying some retinol / retinaie / adapalene. I keep watching your videos, to try and learn about these products and understand them, I'm still confused. Before going to a Dermatologist for a prescription, I want to start trying some of the serum brands you recommended, one at a time, like the Avene, Timeless, Maelove, The Ordinary, etc. . . . so I can slowly acclimate my skin to the stronger prescriptions. This is going to be my new hobby to keep me busy during isolation. I was wondering what is the mini fridge for ? R you supposed to keep the serums cold ? I have seen some vloggers w mini fridges on IGram. Anyways, I appreciate all the time and dedication you put into your videos, it's so very helpful for novices like myself, it's never too late to learn, and it keeps me young.

I’ve tried Angie’s way and now doing Dr drays way and have had noticeable results. I also double cleanse. I am not being shady towards Angie I know she helped me in the beginning with skin care. @greenknitter 4 года назад
@@terrishepherd3266 Love Dr. Dray. One thing she said about Retin A use though was how much difference it makes depends a lot on how much sun damage you've gotten and that 75% of sun damage is acquired by the age of 20, so dramatic changes will only be seen with tret if you have a lot of photo ageing. I have little now at 52 as my Mum and I always protected my skin from the sun from the time I was born-had to as I'm extremely fair and burn very easily. Niacinamide antioxidant serum has clinical evidence from several high quality randomised controlled studies that demonstrate significant penetration into skin. I use it (The Ordinary 10%) and have noticed a big difference in how plump and bright my skin has become, so it depends on the serum and what evidence there is for its efficacy.

To people asking if really NEED all this or don’t have $$, the heavy hitters are really: RetinA (or Differin/adapalene, retinols) Vit C serum & DAILY sunscreen. Interspersing acids on varying days depending on where skin is (sloughing stage.) The rest is icing. DAY: Non foaming cleanse followed by vit C serum & fragrance free moisturizer, mineral sunscreen then makeup. NIGHT: double cleanse, use RetinA wait 20 minutes then moisturizer. Other nights use glycolic acid toner, or BHA toner (exfoliation) follow with a good peptides hyaluronic acid serum (Buffet from The Ordinary or something like this) then moisturizer. Just do something different based on what stage of sloughing your skin is in. I skip chemical exfoliants when skin is heavily sloughing from Retin A or acids (broken down skin barrier) & use hydrating toner, peptides serum, moisturizer & sometimes lock in w/good oil. You don’t have to spend a lot or use this many products to get results.

I keep my Curology tretinoin % on the low side, .05%, so I can use two pumps every day. If I go higher, I get irritation and am not consistent. Also, I apply my curology as my last step. I've been using Curology for just over two years and continue to see great results.

Jim Williams I have been using Curology for the tretinoin (about 7 months). I have noticed significant improvement in reducing wrinkle depth. The improvements became clearly noticeable around 6 months. I worked up to .07% without irritation and without peeling by combining it with an occlusive moisturizer (Aveno Excema balm with colloidal oatmeal) ... The take away is that the tretinoin is helping me reverse age my skin. I am 56 years old.

How are you getting a 0.12 % Tretinoin from Curology when the strongest I can get directly from my pharmacy (in the US also) is 0.1%? Also when I look online, the strongest strength listed as available in the US is 0.1% (with the others being 0.05% and 0.025%). I do not understand how Curology is supposedly supplying this in the US at strengths higher than available at any pharmacy. I have asked this exact question on a person’s IG post who said they were getting 0.14% from Curology - and the person replied by tagging Curology and saying “tagging you guys here so you can provide this info”. And Curology has yet to reply. I even followed up a couple days after and tagged Curology again asking if they could explain - and they have not replied. I do not think Curology IS actually using the strengths they are telling you - when according to the FDA - the strongest you can get in the US is 0.1%. Thoughts?

Dawn Princess Looks like she’s using 0.12% who knows what she’s actually getting; somebody should send it out for testing!😜The key is using 1 night/week & believing that will actually make a difference (add Differein in on another night or 2 as it’s gentler & definitely makes a difference) but back off according to skin response. It is definitely not necessary to rush the process because it’s remarkable how much change can be seen using 1-3x/week instead of every night.
