I’m sure the CFMoto will be great, but that ‘Umph! Woa! That looks the dogs danglies. Oh I could go for a bike that looks like that! Hope it performs as well as it looks. Go well, Nathan. Looking forward to your reports. Les
Of all the regrets.. parting with Escort 1600 sport, KE175.. is not getting a 98/99 DR350 SEW/X at that time.. years late an return the 411 Himalaya ticks the boxes..other an weight, so 452 for me what do I really gain..!
Cheers Nathan, Triumph looks absolutely banging, I’ll be keeping up with your Iceland posts to see how it goes. And the CF looks the business as a small capacity, dual sport, adventure bike. P.S. I still have my KLE 500, I’ll have to bring it over to North Devon sometime. All the best, Rich down in SE Cornwall.
It’s Chinese, well so is this phone I’m recording this on…. 2 minutes ago: sorry tried to do a live feed but my phone overheated 😂😂 That triumph looks pretty damn amazing though and the 450 too
Yay! Nathan got the 450MT! I got mine from Foshan earlier this month. They shipped it to my country in Madagascar and it will arrive by the end of July. Can't wait!
KLE500 with some off road tyres was 2nd on the Humm in 2010. Only needed the saddle foam cut horizontal to the ground stop the rider sliding forward onto the tank. Otherwise bombproof bike. Good spot that the CF MOTO is the modern take on it.😎👍
For context: i was volunteering at a festival in Devauden a few weeks ago. My Terra Nova tent, MiC. My Decathlon sleeping mat. MiC. My sleeping bag. MiC. My new pillow. MiC. My tent light. MiC.....you get the picture. The only thing I couldn't be sure of was my bronze cutlery...... everything else, including my two Xiaomi phones........ MiC. They've won the war without a fight. And, they have more physical gold than most ALL other countries put together. Is that important? YUP.
The triumph does look like a lovely machine, looking forward to seeing how you get on in Icelend with all the bikes. I'm missing Iceland already, such a beautiful place and biking heaven. Did that trip to the ferry in Hirtshals in May and absolutely loved it. Also missing the hotdogs in the Denmark service stations 😄
Hello Nathan, after much deliberation in the mid capacity bike range I have bought a Honda NX500, Thankyou for your views on the others, the CF Moto was a little late to the party for me though. Looking forward to your views on that one. Be good,if not be careful.👍
This channel is just thought provoking and informative. Even though I am not an off road motorcycles, I have watched, with interest, most of your uploads for months now. I seriously considered the Fine looking Moto Morini 650 twin you bought too, as a road bike.As I am 6'2'' tall and a road rider today I buy an almost mint Honda CBF1000 from my mate. Amongst very many viewers, Thank you for this great channel.
When I was in the UK I rented a Ninja 400-500. I visited my mom's cousin in the Cotswolds on a farm. It did fine running from the gate to the door. It was okay for the trip I did, but if I had GPS with current maps and something more off-road a scrambler or ADV would be nice to rent.
They used to tell us, " Look for the union Label" " Made in America 🇺🇸 " Then the steel beams would be from a steel factory in Timpon or Timpoon China. Contradicting information but come to find out...Some of these products are worthy. We all or many of us ride Enfield or Triumph. One of the first CFMOTO 450 was had by a well known bloggers in UK who chose the CF 450 over a previous Enfield'. Someone did their homework, and I pray, she gets many awesome videos to share. Thanks Nathan. Vegas out.
The CFmoto is definately an interesting bike. Their whole range looks pretty good! My local CFmoto dealer, is M&P Cardiff, who, fortunately for me, allow me to test ride/review all the demo bikes for my channel. Definately going to have a look at the CFmoto range 😃 Safe trip all.
Are we trending that the bikes are being manufactured and the build is that the aftermarket come up with the likes of tubeless rim, suspension and upgrades etc. CFMoto however has nailed this out the crate and advantage is if you prefer a twin.. for being Chinese whats not these days, the phone joke has been well an truly cooked too. Words out Royal Enfield has a Press release in Spain on New Model, we've had more than sufficient on 650 platform.. can we expect the 452 in an all new Scram.. maybe Motard.. heard it here first if I should be right. Best wishes for Iceland. Cheers
Im kinda a bike for life guy once i commit, but if i hadnt recently bought my 390 Adventure, I'd be banging the doors down of the nearest CF Moto dealer. Was a huge fan of the KLE500 and the domestic 400. Kawaski missed to boat not doing a Versys 400 on the 300 platform with the 400 Ninja engine
Bless your bank manager, maybe slip him a Fray Bentos pie nect time you are in the bank.......or perhaps you already did? Look forward to the MT review and an interesting choice for the Iceland trip.
Concerning the Triumph, did you replace the front 19 inch rim with a 21? Looks bigger to me. Looking forward to your thoughts on the Triumph with proper tires, of course, the Cfmoto review.
The rear rack & side plates look super cool ... where'd you get these from? Also, the seat looks a lot flatter than a stock Scrambler 400x, was the suspension lowered?
It's so funny that you in both new videos find it necessary to tell us nothing has been done to the front shocks... if you didn't mention them we would have never wondered 🙂
Thanks for updates, really looking forward to unicorn test and views from my favourite tester. Currently in Sri Lanka surrounded by Bajaj products and they are indestructible, hope triumph haven't managed to mess the 400 up with cheapest components. If you make a bad product on the thing that is there to bring new customers in you are not going to keep them coming back. Hope I'm wrong.
700 miles and a new chain it just cements my view on triumphs, the motorcycle club I was in, most triumph owners new and old had issues. No thanks as pretty as it looks. Cant wait to see how cf Moto pans out. Lot of doubters on here but lot of praise from europeans
the chain was made in china 😄 I've got a Triumph 400x and had absolutely zero problems out of it so far! coming up on 5k miles since it's my daily commuter.
Nice one Nathan and loved what you’ve done to the Triumph. Looks impressive and practical with the luggage options. Is the gearing slightly high for off-road?
Where did you order your cf moto from as it can't of been your most local dealer in Exeter like i did as they messed up our orders! So gutted as like you would had picked it up around now. But have to wait until August. I picked up my uncles 400x last weekend also and that is nice too
700 miles & needs new chain & brake pads? Although an admittedly good looking bike, the Triumph's long term reliability will be interesting to watch. The 450MT has other manufacturers on the back foot.
Why doesn't Triumph make it work spoked wheels? I suspect because in its home (Indian) market spokes are seen as old-fashioned and cheap. Find an Indian RU-vid channel and a bike with spokes and they're all dating "why has it got spokes?"
Probably the most anticipated adv bike this year (The Cf Moto of course). A case of the Chinese actually listening to what people are asking for (or more accurately what's been missing in the marketplace). Glad to see you got one as they are in very limited supply for now. I managed to get one too but, due to a shattered wrist after a motorbike accident, I won't be able to ride for a while. I let Mark Pulling ride mine for a review but I'd guess you'll likely put it to the test a bit more than he did. Should be interesting to see. I also own the Voge 300 Rally which is an amazing lightweight bike (as you know) though I'm hoping the CF Moto will be better for distance. It's all a compromise. Like many others no doubt, waiting with baited breath for your review. Anyway, enjoy your time away on the Triumph, certainly looks better than the standard model.
Yes. Luckily in those days the reviews usually came out after the bikes became available so was able to just buy one in early 1991 without any influence. I used the same throw overs and top box I had already been using on other bikes and went camping in Switzerland, Italy and France. Soon after I got back, I read things like “cannot go touring as no real windscreen “ “Position of exhaust precludes the use of throw overs “ “Seat height means people under 5ft 11 need not apply! “ There was a lot more written that I was glad I hadn’t read that I couldn’t do my trip beforehand! The following year I went to Venice two up (another thing it apparently couldn’t do) 🙂
The CRF is the only Japanese bike of mention in this class. And then it needs work to make right. No Kawasaki, no Suzuki, no Yamaha. The Japanese have dissolved to nothing as far as small displacement bikes go.
For years the Chinese copied and mimicked the Japanese and European bikes, now the Japanese and Europeans eill be copying the Chinese. Why on earth does the new nx500 not look like that? Etc etc etc Ride safe and happy travels 👍
