Fantastic! I definitely would have thought the girl who's little sister was abducted would have been the first one that stepped into the beam of light so she could retrieve her sister.
Maybe the fear was stronger than she could have imagined? Taylor is a complex character, which is something we're exploring in the feature film that we're currently shooting!
This deserves way more than 3,900 views. Excellent sci-fi short. Everyone involved should feel pretty good about the product they came up with. Lighting, writing, acting, vfx, set building and score were all on point with this one. I would be willing to watch a lot more of this story. Thanks for sharing with us mere mortals.
Interesting, very interesting. I'm just not clear what, ultimately, the main character's goal is. She says she wants to be taken seriously, be believed that she had a UFO encounter, her partner goes along with it but just sort of phases out of her life, as if in the end, she didn't matter to her, who is the main character trying to prove they had an encounter with? The main character strikes up a bond with another victim, that relates to her experience, but ultimately, why are we watching beyond that. They relate, her gf is out of the picture, what is the main character after at that point? she doesn't really achieve anything, she gets abducted, to serve what means? to prove what? The other woman has a clear goal, she lost her sister, she wants to find her, she, I think so anyway, feels responsible, becaues she organised a retreat to a cabin in the middle of nowhere....you see, that is something that is clear, I can understand her motivation, why they are doing that?, what's at stake. The main character is trying to relate to others about her experience, tries to show her gf it was real, but then her gf leaves her, or it just sort of ends, right? but the main character keeps pursuing their goal (which is a wise thing to do, from a story sense) but why? who is she trying to prove it to? the new girl she became friends with? why? they already believe and understand, they had the same experience. I'm confused as to her goal, what it's for. Good idea, this could be really good.
I don't think she's trying to prove it to anyone. Right before her girlfriend leaves she says she just wants to know what's out there. Annie's journey is about discovery. Of herself, and then of the universe.
