I just received mine today, the issues you and everyone else had with the CV has been addressed in the latest firmware update. I was not going to get one because you and everyone else had the same complaint, on the other hand they are Eventide and I would expect no less. So I updated it today but haven’t tried it yet. I make my own power connectors and I was completely out of HP’s lol! So I’ll get it rolling tomorrow and see how I did! I am impressed your attention to detail, and you have a new subscriber here! Something else I would like to point out, I’ve invested in a very nice label maker and suggest everyone into Eurorack do the same. I’ve marked each 1/8 with a 1 or 2 then mark Labled all my dongles the same way. Since I build so much of my own stuff I also bought a parts rack on wheels from Harbor Freight $99 on sale and worth every penny! I’m really looking forward to batting on RU-vid and show off my rig! Soon! I unfortunately need some operations first and I’ve been ready gear wise for a while so I’ll see you soon! Peace!
I just ordered Misha today because Sweetwater has it on sale for 399. I have NDLR and wasn’t really planning on getting Misha, but it’s had some updates since you did this video so hoping they fixed that CV issue. I have a pretty serious eurorack system although I started in piano, and have been playing synths for 40 years as well. Honestly,I kind of like the percussive sound in the oscillator! I really liked your demo with Kontact as well, since I have the Collectors 14 and the Bluebox. I must say I’ve become a big fan of 1010 music! I’m thinking Misha will be a hit in my system with Ensemble, and the complete Behringer 100 series and the complete Radical Technologies Swarm set with the Delta CEP A and the 451 duel filter. My plan is separate Zoia (it is the Eurorack version), the rt-311, and the rt-451 those three into separate units just to make more mobile, I may do the same with Misha. I’ll feel it out first since each separation costs $110. I am working on making my own power boxes, I have the tools and materials just not the health quite yet. I know, blah blah blah, sorry about that. I appreciate the video and you explained everything very well! Thanks!
Hey Hey! Thanks for watching! 😁🙏👊 I hope Misha works out for you and does exactly what you want it to do! GOOD LUCK with your setup! I ended up getting the Eurorack version of the 1010Bluebox in addition to the desktop version I'm using in this video - I really love that mixer/recorder! 💙
Thanks for this video and all the details! I was super curious about this module. Also, I soooo agree with you regarding these damn dongles. I've had to start labeling them with a label maker to keep from having to dig for the "right one" that will connect properly.
So basically you are using it for converting midi to a specific scale. Trying to figure out how to put Misha in good use. I was thinking a lot about cv but it think midi is the way to go.
Hey Hey! I'm hoping that Eventide themselves put out a really detailed video on *exactly* how to use it via the CV/Gate *inputs*. 😁👊 I spent sooooooo much time trying to get it working as expected, but was not able to do so over CV/Gate. My problem specifically, was that I could not get it to go back to the "home/root" note over CV the same way as I can via midi... For me, without a "root note" I can't program the other notes... I exist in the Western scale. 🤓🤓
@@ElectronisoundsAudio Yeah. It looks like it’s being used as kind of a stand alone module. I want to see it being used to control like Make Noise STO or PIco VCO, etc… 🤔
I really appreciate your video on Misha. It was very informative. The musical demonstrations are inspirational, but the fact it lacks solely eurorack cv/gate functionality is disappointing. People like you help me make informed decisions, before spending my hard earned money.
Hey Hey! Thanks for watching! 😁👊 The kind folks over at Patchwerks did a very nice video on Misha that helped me understand the CV/gate routing a bit better. It's this one here, and they go over the CV/gate info towards the end. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-UOUNNznEftk.html
Agreed. I am 99% decided on buying this module but I echo your same CV/gate disappointment. I still think I can get a ton of use out of it via Midi tho. I really enjoyed this video because it pointed this out and was really informative. I'll probably still get one because I don't see anything else out there like it and I can use it outside of Eurorack with my other gear.
Thanks for the heads-up Dean. I’ve had my eyes on this for a while, but the Eventide price was putting me off- and if it’s not cv/gate friendly, well… That’s what a good demo does I suppose.
Hey Hey, Wal! Yeah, I'm anxious to use this more with actual Eurorack gear, not just midi. Hopefully, Eventide have a detailed overview video coming on this, so I can learn how to get more use out of Misha! 😁👊
Misha is very CV/Gate friendly! You can customize the T/G/CV inputs to just about any function you'd like it to do. Some options are triggering intervals, transposing, loading new keys/scales, adjusting your sequence playing, etc. There is a very comprehensive list of T/G/CV option available, it all depends on what the user would like to do. More information can be found on page 41 of the user manual here - downloads.eventide.com/audio/manuals/misha/MishaUserGuide.pdf
@@jjbing3 There is currently no tutorial that shows the CV input mapping, but Loopop shows the CV mapping menu here - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-1RS4giQHAUg.html
@@trippypages7309 I LOVE the MicroMonsta !! I've got the V1, which has had no issues at all (knock on wood, haha) over the years i've had it. I still love it! ❤ There is a V2, but it's multi-timbral (two sounds at one time) and a bit deeper overall than the V1 and a bit more expensive as well... ;)
If anyone's interested in the history of this, look up 'Samchillian' on RU-vid. I used this prototype of the Misha about 12 years ago and have been waiting for a professional version to be produced ever since, but Eventide really need to bring out a stand-alone version so I don't have to get rabbit-holed by Eurorack!
