Bro I can say the same thing about you. How has this comment not gey blasted with likes?! I've watched nearly all your videos. Your an inspiration! Cheers from Canberra!
Smh at the ppl in the comments saying his gear is too expensive, asking for a cheaper alternative. Gear doesn't matter! You can make great content with your phone and sunlight. If something is your passion you're going to invest in it. I'm pretty sure he didn't have all this gear first starting out, and I'm pretty sure he didn't buy it all at once. But again, he made that investment because he is passionate about his work
I am big fan a RU-vidr who I start chat with about her content and she ask me help to game up her gear. She was shooting with her iPhone, with the front facing camera and now she's pretty geared up. So nope you have to buy expensive stuff right at the beginning because you got to remember that old saying "shit in shit out"
The poot people that say gear doesnt matter, never tried good gear, id rather spend 10k on a gear kit that pays itself off beqause it looks good than shitty video that doesnt make money
He is already using crazy dirt dirt CHEAP as chips gear like the NTG4 and H4n, which I'd regard as being woefully inadequate for professional usage by a specialist
Orangey Avocado it's the 60d which is a mid range crop sensor cam from 2010. It's great for my use case which is beginner to intermediate. I paid $550 Australian dollars for the body, two kit lenses and a carry case. I've had zero issues with the stuff and it's been around 6 months. If you're buying stuff from someone's house they tend not to screw you over since you kniw where they live :D
I paid £700 brand new Canon 60D in 2014, w/18-135kit lens, 50mm 1.4 USM. If i were to buy a new camera i would go for G85/GH4 second hand, 4k/high FPS/high BR - Thats the new beginner to intermediate in my opinion not 25mbps 1080p and 720p slow motion sucks
Im only using my android phone for my blogs right now,, i would appreciate if you've given me that camera,,it would be a great help to improve the shoots on my video. Godbless bro.. Mabuhay Greetings from Philippines..
Alazawi checkout an earlier video he did about using a Home Depot light and foam core from Walmart. Will get your lighting like 80% of the way there for under 50 bucks !
smartphone camera (no cost because everybody already has one) lamps and/or clamp lights ($0 to $16) microphone (no cost if you use the one earbud mic...$2 for an online mic) phone holder (no cost if you make one from cardboard....$1 for selfie stick) tripod (no cost if you use a lamp...yup, check out the screw on top of a lamp) If you want to spend $100, you can buy some photography umbrella lights for about $30 and upgrade your microphone for another $25. You can find tripods for $10-$20 online. You can find used 1080p webcams and cameras for less than $100 (sometimes $50...and if you don't mind 720p, those can be found for $25 all day long).
I wish more of these guys would show low budget things and how you can set it up to look beautiful, most of the best youtubers have gears that are more than a apartment
Quite Complex setup. I am a very small online media creator and shoot videos only on my phone. But seeing this setup i got inspired to make better videos and buy this setup one day. Will meet you Peter someday. Love from India !!
Wild Gaming i could make a video this quality for the price of that microphone. This is way more than necessary foe making youtube videos in a spare bedroom.
Is there a way you can give us a gear list to use that is similar to the gear you have but affordable? If someone would like to start and does not have the funds to purchase some of the gear you put the links for, do you have cheaper alternates? Love your channel by the way!!
Yeeesssss it's so hard when you're starting out. I mean, it can be fun though because it forces you to experiment :P I'm a year into practising film and it's really fun but difficult (until you get to this channel).
Maybe you can start with your smartphone, after you are familiar with filming, then save the money to buy it. Good luck! I'm learning too! Sorry my English is poor ^^
I very rarely finish a RU-vid video, even my own lol, but I don't even know you or have even heard of you. That's what makes what makes what I'm about to say next, genuine. This is the first video from your channel that I've ever watched and I didn't even skip around or click on that click baity video over there. None the less, such a quality video dude! I'm not going to lie and say I subbed either, cause honestly, I'm just not interested. The content's great! It's just that......hell, who am I kidding, SUBBED!
WOW. Loved everything. Found you through CaseyNeistat in Amsterdam video- then found YOUR side of the pair here on your channel (which I subscribed to). I found your video in Iceland, then another video of yours in a bus in Iceland... all delightful to see! I get a wee bit anxious when I watch you, you are very high energy and such a seller- all good.
I've been using AudioBlocks (the cousin of VideoBlocks) and get hit with copyright claims all the time and have to dispute them. Very annoying for a service I'm paying for. I've now transitioned to Epidemic Sounds.
First time watching. As an aspiring RU-vidr, I learned quite a bit from this video so thanks. After a cursory glance at your channel, I notice you must be someone that has also been inspired by Casey Neistat. Rock on brother. Subscribed.
Zayan Musthafa The Rubik's cube trick is not editing, nor was the cube a gimmick. The trick is by Steven Brundage and is called "Toss up solve" and included in Cube3. I have it and it's pretty easy to perform. But you do have to learn how to solve it in case you mess up.
Peter has over a million people subscribed, he deserves to buy whatever expensive stuff he wants because people need the besttttttt he gets paid anyway so why not
Have you ever tried making merchandise and sell? Your channel is growing and I think it's time you start doing more than just providing us with awesome videos. Make some T-Shirts, Hoodies and tank tops with your logo or signature on it, i'm sure everyone will love them, thumbs up if your agree and leave a reply.
i swear i probably have watched all your videos more than once. i just love learning new things and you are really great at explaining things and very talented. keep up the goodwork!!
Do you run the audio from the Zoom directly into the camera? Or do you mix audio in post? If it is done in post, how to you sync up the audio and video clock to match perfectly? Thank you for your time
There is a button in Premiere Pro CC called synchronise, it will match the audio if you are recording audio in both the camera and audio recorder. Probably a similar or the same tool in other video editing software. If that's what you meant!
I'm also glad you talked about how challenging the technical side of the gear can be. I am finding myself needing arms and things just to do what I want and finding myself really frustrated creatively due to this. I think once you work through the physical side of what's needed the creative flow will 190% be better. Thanks man really enjoy your style. Aloha
Heyi I am watching your videos since I started to youtube. I pretty much learned everything from you. But I got a problem now. I upgraded my camera to t5i and I have 18-55 & 50 mm lenses. İn both cases the auto focus is killing me. My face always goes in and out of focus and I cant fix it. If you help me on this , I will really appreciate thanks.
This video is amazing and your level of energy is amazing. I never really knew how much time and effort went into making a video until I made my first one and posted it today. Thanks
Peter, you are one of my FAVORITE youtubers, especially with your positivity, tutorials, and your honesty. And, I'm from Serbia man. You probably didn't ever heard of it (South European country) :)
Thanks for the great tour of your setup! Have you ever thought about creating a mobile studio in a van for on the go/road? if so, would absolutely love to know how you do it.
I work 40 hrs a week in a position 3 levels above intro grade at my company, have no kids at all and literally cant currently afford to buy any thing on this damn list. how about a beginners guide video or second hand guide or decent video / youtube channel production on a budget video. thats the one most of us really need man!
Most people can’t afford a fraction of this set up. It’s pretty nice, but if you’re a beginner, unless you are very wealthy, this set up won’t be realistic. My initial set up was a $30 tripod, a mic that’s under $20, my iPhone, an iPhone tripod clamp, and an $80 panel light. That’s not including the iMac I already have and use for editing. If you don’t have that stuff at all, counting the MAC, iPhone, and other gear, you’re looking at over $4000 just for a basic set up. If you already have the phone and the computer, then it’s more like $200.
Hello from Punjab India Sir... i am regular follower from march 2018... you are my inspiration Sir... Thanks.... for your valuable and helpful videos.... #RESPECT .. and one more thing.... nice INTRO... i'm now copy that
dude , I loved the into part..😜 each time u do , something amazing before starting over , bt today it was just super crazy. #the croo croo part. (don't know how, bt somehow,u remind of blue, from the movie Rio 😜😜) okay man have a great day.. and shoot awesome.🎋🤘
It all seems grand but any audio or video produced is only as good as how it is received. I would say for most who watch youtube videos on their mobile device the quality output from a decent smartphone versus your equipment is hardly discernable.
I just bought the cannon m50 I started my channel with an LG stylis it was horrible but I got 1490 subscribes using it can't wait to bigger things with my new setup
Why the Zoom H4N? I don't get it, why not just attach the mic to the camera. So you have to sync the audio with each video? What value in this setup is the H4N giving?
