Thank you so much 🌼😀 You can exchange currency at raxaul bihar (Nepal-India) border. And if you go by flight then you can exchange at Kathmandu airport or in the city.

Thanks for the information..im planning to go there soon ..i heard that now there is compulsion to hire a guide..is it true? Also stay at ebc is restricted by authority and trekkers have to stay at gorakshep

I talked to some people and they said they have completed EBC trek without any guide or porter, so as per my knowledge it is not mandatory but I will suggest you to confirm it from some other sources also. Yes, you can't stay at EBC. You have to stay at Gorakshep

Hi i shall be going next month. Can you tell me, was there electricity in the hotels u stayed after lukla to ebc?. Is a mobile power bank necessary?

Yes, every hotel has electricity from Lukla to EBC/Gorakshep. But you will not get the power sockets in your room because you have to pay extra for mobile charging, power bank charging etc. At Namche Bazar mobile charging etc is free. I will recommend you to carry a power bank.

If you take your personal guide porter then it will cost you around 2000-2500 Nepali Rupees per day If you go with any travel company then they will take care of guide and porters

I also heard that, but many people are still going to EBC without a guide and no one is stopping them So yes it's possible to go without a guide to everest base camp It's not mandatory yet But I will suggest double confirming it before going because I am also sharing other people's experience here
