Thanks for posting. We were on the trail at the same time and I remember seeing you both on the wet acclimitisation climb at Dingboche, most people gave up that day! The EBC day was epic weather after what we all had on the climb up, so pleased it worked out that way. The Himalaya's are indeed evidence of the great powers at work on this earth and I love being amongst them. Thinking about the next trip back there....
Looks like the world is small but RU-vid is smaller! 😅 I was very sad that day at Dingboche aswell but the locals were telling me that next few days will be good. I have no idea how they knew it because the weather reports were telling the opposite! 😅 We actually had an incredibly hard time on the way back around Salleri because it rained a lot and it was soooo muddy we were literally like pigs rolling in the mud 😅😅 It is so beautiful all the way from Pakistan to Nepal actually but it is very challenging. Definitely check Pakistan if you haven’t yet. It may suprise you 😅 I’m so into it
Love and enjoying this vlog so much, very informative original and lively lovely couple ❤ I heard that November December and February to June is the super best season. my bucket list Nepal - thanks from Tokyo Japan🙏
Thank you so much 🤗✌🏼On this video around 18:41 I shared the number of tourists that arrive to Everest. I’d recommend to go on the shoulder season to avoid the crowds a bit by checking it with that chart. And Japan is on my bucket list for long time actually 😅 Maybe this year 😊🎌
I'm planning on doing EBC plus The Three Passes this April, 2024. I'm hearing different opinions on whether a guide is mandatory? My desire is to complete the hike without a guide. Can you please elaborate on this. Also, which app did you use and how did it work? Thanks, Carl
Hello Carl. Thanks for reaching out. I was seeing news about mandatory guidance on the internet before we started our trek and I was confused as well but it turned out that these news were false and I don’t know what is the source of those news. We walked until EBC without a guide and porter. Of course things can change anytime but I recommend you not to believe any information if it’s not on the official government channels. Once you go to government Tourism Office in Kathmandu to get your first trek pass you can ask this there one last time before starting your journey. We used Map.me app. I’d say it was %95 accurate and also it shows you elevation profile which is very cool. Surprisingly AllTrails were not good at all.
Thanks for this response. I am very interested to understand this reporting as well. I do not want a guide for this trip (extra expense without any added value). In fact, a guide may hinder the ability of my two travel companions to come depending on what is/isn’t allowed in terms of schedule and what they charge. Very real chance of canceling the trip over such a requirement.
nice work and well done. i plan on doing 3 passes solo. fly into Kathmandu on 2/Nov. some questions thanks : i think I need 3 permits if going via Salleri. Gaurishanka 3000npr (if going thru Salleri - get in Kathmandu at Nepal Tourist office - how long did it take to get the permit? Kumbu Pass 2000npr and Sagarmarkan 3000npr which can be purchased in Monjo on the trek route. Correct? shared jeep Kathmandu to Salleri = 2000npr correct? i am planning on getting ticket in Chabahil bus station?. how much did you pay for the shared Jeep from Salleri to Bupsa. Thanks a lot and much appreciated.
Im not sure about the 3rd permit. In Nepal Tourism Office the staff is really helpful. If you need a 3rd permit for 3 passes they can direct you there. You will get one permit at Nepal Tourism Office and second one at Monjo. Getting a permit takes just 5 minutes. The prices that you wrote are correct Chabahil was too chaotic I couldn’t find the place to buy a ticket there. I bought tickets via a tourism office and it cost me more obviously 😅 But in Salleri you can find jeeps directly (to Bupsa) and it will cost you 2000 npr
Hola! Gracias por vuestro vídeo. Quiero hacer el trekking y me ha ayudado mucho. Tengo una duda, ¿el guia no era necesario desde el pasado mes de abril? es que me gustaría hacerlo también sola. Muchas gracias!
Hola! Mi Español es muy malo 😅 So I will continue in English 😅 According to the official information on ntb.gov.np you do need a guide starting from March 31st 2023 but we made it without a guide and got our permits alone from Kathmandu Tourism Office. I don’t have up to date information but looks like that announcement wasn’t taken into effect when we were there. But I don’t know the stuation now. Maybe get in touch with Apex Travel Agency that I showed on the video. They were helpful people. You can find them on Google Maps in Thamel ✌🏼
Nice video story! Thanks for sharing! I plan my own three passes trek solo in late November. So, need some your advices. - Where from could I pick up a jeep to Phaplu or Saleri? - is it necessary to get any permits in Kathmandu or you can get all the documents needed right on the trek? - How easy/difficult is it to get permission for drone use in National Park? Thank you
-You can take a jeep from Kathmandu. You can go to the travel agency in Thamel that I show on the video (Apex travel) and the jeep will pick you up from an arranged location -You need 2 permits for this trek. Yes you need to get first permit from Nepal Tourism Office in Kathmandu before starting the trek and you will get second permit in Monjo at the entrance of national park along the trek -Getting national park drone permit is easy. You just need to pay $1500 for it 😅 I flew my drone before entering national park and that was it. I don’t recommend flying illegally in the national park because I’ve seen that the locals are very protective about their towns. Somebody just comes at you immediately. If you csn get completely off the grid you may want to fly it. -3 passes need a lot of dedication. We’ve realized that we are not that comfortable above 5000 meters and decided to go back after the base camp. Good luck to you ✌🏼
@@erdemulubas thank you so much for your quick response which made some things clear to me. I’ve climbed the peak of Europe (Mt. Elbrus 5642m) 7 times which you can see on my channel so I’m sure I got used to altitude 5000m+. I’ve never been to Himalaya before so I hope my dream comes true. Enjoyed your video and go well ahead!
@PavelLavrishchev Wow 7 times is a lot 😅 I watched your 1 hour video. The view is amazing. You wont get that kind of view in everest unfortunately… Good luck with your expedition 🙏🏼
Well done. Sorry for all the fog but you did get some decent views in the end. If you dont want crowds...just Take the path in the other side of the Dud Kosi...almost no people at all. And even better...no Yaks or Donkeys 😁
Thank you so much! 😊 We took jeep to Salleri on September 27th. So, we trekked for the first half of October. On the second half of October the weather is expected to be better but also it is more crowded
