Inspired by the incredible events surrounding an attempt to reach the summit of the world’s highest mountain, Everest documents the awe-inspiring journey of two different expeditions challenged beyond their limits by one of the fiercest snowstorms ever encountered by mankind. The epic adventure stars Jason Clarke, Josh Brolin, John Hawkes, Robin Wright, Michael Kelly, Sam Worthington, Keira Knightley, Emily Watson and Jake Gyllenhaal.
Everest is directed by Baltasar Kormákur (2 Guns, Contraband) and produced by Working Title Films’ Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner, Cross Creek Pictures’ Brian Oliver and Tyler Thompson, as well as Nicky Kentish Barnes and Kormákur.
Universal Pictures and Walden Media’s presentation of Everest-in association with Cross Creek Picture-is adapted for the screen by William Nicholson (Gladiator) and Oscar® winner Simon Beaufoy (Slumdog Millionaire).
The film was shot on location in Nepal on the foothills of Everest, the Italian Alps and at Cinecittà Studios in Rome and Pinewood Studios in the U.K. Universal will distribute Everest worldwide.

So I haven’t seen the film yet but I have been fascinated by this event since I was as 11 because I read “Into Thin Air” and I actually only started out doing it because it happened on my birthday (May 10th is my birthday) and I liked the cover of the book haha. I have studied and learned as much as I possibly could about the incident. Yasuko was alive but they didn't carry her till the camp, they left her alone. She was a tiny light woman, they would carry her easily. But they left. She died because of rescue team mistake. Also, Rob was a moron, he left 7 costumers without a leader to just make happy Doug. They lost their way because there was no a leader. Also, he left Doug alone on the peak and he fell down. Rob and his idiot decision caused all of these deaths. Pity for Fisher, he had to climb twice to help his costumer and he was exhausted. He tried to follow Rob's idiotic decision and he died.

People always say stuff like they died doing what they loved. Like that’s some consolation. I can tell you definitely were not happy. Mountain climbing is predominantly an ego-pursuit and in the last moments climbers likely have an epiphany about what’s really important, realizing they have left their family to suffer.

If you haven't already done it, read "into thin air" by John Krakauer. This movie is based on it, but the book gives you such an incredible, in depth, on the edge of your seat ride along with the team this story is about. Must read for all Everest fans.

90% of people who do climb it survive. Also, while a storm as bad as this happening is possible, its not likely. Its not an easy climb but no guts no glory.

If any movie should be made than it should be about Annapurna range most deadliest and hardest mountains to climb, there are many short films nad documentaries on K2 not many for Annapurna and Annapurna 3 has never been climbed from southern side.
