I purchased a CAS2 knowing that I was going to hate the strap... and I was wrong! As it turns out It fits me best across body with the strap all the way out so I dont have to worry about getting keepers. The buckle is definitely meh though and I would have liked it better had it not attacked in the middle of the strap. Other than that, I love it!

That's great! Glad you like it. It's the best layout and feel of any of my slings IMHO...but the strap situation is it's downfall.

Great review! What strap keepers are you thinking of adding to the CAS2? Just so surprised since strap keepers were included in the MHP 3.5

I’ve been using my CAS2 for a few days now and while I love the bag, the strap is hands down the worst part about it. I wear a cross body sling on the daily and with a center buckle you MUST remove the bag to sit or you get a nice lump in your back. I will also wear my sling in conjunction with a backpack and a center buckle does not work for that either. I have wanted an EG sling for years now and I’m so sad with this release, it had so much potential and just fell short on arguably the most crucial part of any bag.

I agree. It’s the worst part of the bag for sure. With a slimmer fidlock it would be a home run. I’ve sat down and thought about transplanting a fidlock like 4 times and chickened out each time. I just need to rip the seams and do it.

@@Gregory-iw9rg No disrespect but I don’t believe you’ve had much real world experience with slings. You absolutely do wear them for hours because that’s the point. You don’t want to be taking them on and off constantly, it’s a pain. You want to be able to wear it on your chest to keep your items safe and close at hand. You also want to wear it in the car or a flight for easy access. Try using a Bellroy sling mini compared to the CAS2 and its night and day comfort and convenience differences.

Hey JB! Does the CAP2 pouch fit into the main compartment. The latter fits my Fujifilm X100 with all accessories (even the TCL Lens). Would make a great minimal camera bag.

It does NOT fit inside the CAS2. They're the same size. You might be able to get your camera inside the CAS2 inside but the CAP2 won't fit inside the CAS2.

JB, do you think one of the BCA pouches would fit in there? I've got it and a small med pouch in a Defy Venue and the fit is tight when i try to add a phone, wallet and keys

Hi JB, does the straps get loosen easily while u were wearing it? Im a petite small frame female, i think this sling is just the right for my size vs the mhp 3.5 but i want to make sure that the straps dont get loosen easily over time & i will need to readjust & tighten it regularly, i find that annoying like what happened to some of the sling bags i got.

I don’t find the EVERGOODS to be any different in that department but I also didn’t have any trouble with it loosening up. The stock straps lack organization and that’s my biggest issue. I just did another sling video yesterday that was a really great option from Instinct Backpacks

Quite saddening, I was looking forward for the 2l of the mountain hip pack because how the sling strap was configured: 2 buckles on each side (real good because nobody can just unlach the buckle from behind you) and the way it managed the excess strap was so perfect but in the civic access 2 liter they didn't care for any of that...

Can the buckle be removed for replacement? I’d be all over this if I could replace that buckle with a Fidloc

Yes, it can be replaced. It may require removing some of the stitching on the straps though...

I dig your thorough reviews but would get a bit more out of them if you rigged an overhead work bench camera and did voice over while showing the details of the pack. Even cutting between the two POVs would be helpful.
