Hey guys! In this video, watch my hair get frizzier and my sanity slowly give up and leave. I am analysing The Hunger Games movie in the longest video to be uploaded to my channel.
If there are mistakes, ignore them. Just filming and editing this video (not including the time it took to write the script) took a total of sixteen hours. SO DON'T MESS WITH ME I'M READY TO FIGHT.

I was disappointed that Madge and Mayor Undersee were left out as Madge having the Mockingjay pin and iving it to Katniss links her to Haymitch, to Madge and even her own mother. Having Katniss have one close friend other than Gale made her more relatable, it shows that she can have meaningful relationships and isn’t completely isolated socially.

Definitely! It also gave us a better understanding of Katniss's mother's past since her and Madge's aunt were friends

My personal feeling is Katniss was the spark but Peeta was the fuel/air that allowed the spark to catch fire.

I love that idea! They definitely could not have had their rebellion without fuel to the fire

This was great! Would love to hear your thoughts in the changes between the books and the films. Also Rue is such a Prim parallel but it always strikes me that like Katniss, Rue is the eldest sister protecting and providing for her younger siblings in an impossible situation. Her care for Katniss even when she gets nothing out of it (treating the stings) really shows the life and person she could've been outside the games and panem. I think Peeta's clearly abusive childhood and ability to read and then charm the people around him despite such a stark difference in environment like the capitol is skimmed over in the movies. Though the books dont really deeply address it either. The book does do a better job of showing the difference in sincerity Peeta shows Katniss from how he charms the capitol. Their little rooftop chats provide him some fantastic peaks into his own personal style of rebellion. Looking forward to the next one!

I love that insight with the comparison in the books. Eventually I'm planning to do a book and movie comparison but these analysis videos take forever (as much as I do enjoy making them). I'm currently working on Catching Fire which should come out before the Songbirds and Snakes premiere so I will definitely consider looking at Peeta's character development despite it not being as in-depth in the movies as it is in the books. Thanks so much for your insight into Rue and Peeta's characters!

I never thought Haymitch influenced te two winner rule change, I thought it was just from the Game Makers being twisted and fully planning to revoke it once two tributes from one district remain. Or perhaps there were pro-rebellion people working there and they realised/had been told that Katniss was a potential Mockingjay symbol and that she should survive.

You have a great point! In the books, since we only get Katniss's POV, it does seem it was a twisted idea from the gamemakers and Katniss even points that out herself. Although, in the movies we are given a new perspective on how Haymitch may have been planning the star crossed lovers from the beginning. Whether or not it was Suzanne's original intention, the movies definitely give audiences a different idea as to how the rule change came about and how the Capitol took advantage of that to win their own game.

Having read the book’s multiple times I do think Haymitch had involvement in the star crossed lover troupe and the rule change. I believe he saw the energy and the defense of each other and coached Peeta on how to play it.

In the book, Katniss definitely voices her fears of the arena being an icy tundra/aa desert island…

The arena could have really been anything but I (personally) believe it was added for the 'odds' theme throughout the novel series... and maybe Suzanne took advantage of the added plot armour she 'accidentally' created
