I was a budding teenager when the Everley Brothers were turning out their songs and I grooved along. I am 83 today and still enjoy their songs and unique duo singing! All I have are memories!
They are now both gone, Don died today 8/21/21. Thanks guys for all the beauty you added to my 71 years. Look forward to seeing you on the eternal stage soon enough. May God grant you peace and entrance into Heaven. Rest in Peace.
@@danawilkes6174 I was born in 1953, loved the music! My parents were young, they loved music, Mom played guitar! I have had music all of my life! I am 66 now!
The Everly Brothers are still the greatest sounding duo in the history of music. Period! The harmony of Don and Phil still sound amazing after 55 years. Thanks for the memories.
@@andrewb2968 Yes and also check out First Aid Kit. I do not understand why great music seems to always have to entail "this is the best". There is lots of great stuff.
Im watching in 2023 now aged 72 i grew up listening to the everleys and im still listening they were and always will be the best duo ever they evoke so many memories
In the list of some of the heaviest, angriest metal music I got in my playlist, somewhere in the end of the list is that song, and some of its covers. It's like a light at the end of the tunnel for me.
Thankful for my parents playing The Everly Brothers. My dad passed away almost 2 years ago. When I play The Everly Brothers, I become a little girl listening to my Dad sing along. Such great music.
Hello 👋 Jennifer. How are you doing? Hope you are fine. I am Zack Hudson am from Denver Colorado, where are you from? You seem like a real country girl
Apparently in the early days of computer science a musicologist ran the Everly brothers song through a program, the result... the computer detected... only one voice! They were utter perfection.💖
They say it takes a minute to find a special person, an hour to appreciate them, a day to love them, but an entire lifetime to forget them. I,ll never forget The Everly Brothers! Thanks for the memories during my teens, my young adulthood, and my twilight years. Glad you were part of my life.
in my opinion the performance of their songs at this concert is better than the studio recordings, what tremendous talent these guys had. thank goodness for recordings. the Best duo ever.
Can we all remember the days when music produced simple words that made sense and touched all our hearts; the days when the words were about us and our experiences.....RIP Phil.
Wir können ihre Musik nicht verlieren. Sie ist in unseren Herzen eingebrannt. So wie kein Gedanke, Wort, nicht verloren geht, bleibt Ihre Harmonie für immer. Dont be sad. We had them . They are forever , next to you and me. Love them
There will never be legends like Elvis,The Beatles or the Beegees ever again .They stood head and shoulders above the rest and gave joy and happiness to so many fortunate enough to be part of that era. Pure genius! I listened and still do today. And in awe!
Im 21 and im here because old songs are better than my generation classics are always better these are timeless and more meaningful compared to todays music
Ferdinand Diaz : Don’t forget to listen to: Roy Orbison, Righteous Brothers, Buddy Holly, Smoky Robinson and of course the King......Elvis ballads are very beautiful. I Can’t Help Falling In Love With You by Elvis Presley.....one of the greatest love songs ever written.
I'm 70 and this song was my ladies favourite. We fell asleep to this kind of music. And got into trouble without doing anything. But we got past that and married and have five who gave us 15 grandchildren. Bless technology giving us the opportunity to relive our wonderful memories. Thank you, but you really have to change your moniker. It really does make you just a bunch of shit faces.
Amazing! People don't realize how much discipline it takes for vocalists to retain the clarity that once came so easily. God Bless the Everly Brothers. They earned it.
Whenever I close my eyes and listen to this song I can hear my grandmother singing it. It was one of the last songs we sang together when she was dying in the hospital
@@KenNjine I'm sorry to hear that, it rally hurts doesn't it. I never got to say goodbye to mine either one day she was alright then 2 days later she was gone. Its been 7 years and the pain still cuts deep. I came to hear her voice in my head and seen my comment here.
I was there when The Everlys perform this great song at their reunion concert at The Albert Hall it was such a rememerable night one I wont ever forget they were and always will be the fibest and the best
The Everlys made my life bearable when I was growing up. Thank you Everlys. Appreciate the help. The right kind of music does a healing in us I have found. If music could make old wicked King Saul mellow, maybe it will help me get through the dark places in my own life. Thank you, Lord. I need all the help I can get.
Derek ofive I'm trying to deal with my husband's dementia while listening to his kids from his first marriage criticize and mentally beat me up. Before God, I know I have done my best but it is hard to deal with this kind of mental trauma.
Pat Melton You sound like you are having a tough time Pat. Although it may be difficult at times, but do try to stay strong for your husbands sake, and yoyur own sanity, Best of luck.
derek sanderson Thank you, Derek. Jesus is my hope and my strength and I know that I don't have much longer to live so I absolutely must stay connected to my Source. I appreciate the kind comments. Some days are just harder than others.
Everly Brothers. Simon and Garfunkel. I am in the era of One Direction but I have no regrets choosing the music of these great guys. I hope I could have seen them perform live at least once. I am decades late. *sobs* Sorry drama.
By 1985 the world HAD great songs, groups and Singers.....After 1985/90 we only have had REALITIES SHOWS....Talent, WHERE, ?Only painted faces, and built bodies and bodies, only bodies !!!! We were lucky because we had in the past THE EVERLY BROTHERS and their talent,(voices, musicality and heart) to remember always the great songs !!! An exception has been ENYA, from Romenia, who hasn't needed to turn up naked to the fame!!!!She's a talent Composer, unusual Singer, a real Artist, without private scandals !!!
Yes,I still miss the Everly Broyhers, I wish never had to grow old like all of us,so that could go on with their music and we would be able to listen them forever ; it gives me peace of mind and I'm overcome with a sense of calm.Who else can do that for us? No one has in my life time. God, I miss seeing their live concerts.
I can hardly see the screen, I am welling up so much. This is truly a sad day for music. The Everlys came from an era when three minutes was all that was needed to get the message across. And they sure got the messages across, in the most melodious, refined and direct way. When their two heads came together behind the microphone, something very special happened. Their music always touched my heart. Rock solid musicians, from a rock solid musical background. Gutted. Totally gutted. RIP Phil, and thank you so very much.
Great , great comment. All one has to do is really listen to the music, and reflect on how important it was to us as we grew through those early years. I was only 7 or 8 when they were at their peak, but the message and the way it was delivered transcends time. Even a child gets it. As relevant today as it was then.
The Everly Brothers were a big part of my life, growing up. Had the privilege of seeing them in concert a number of years ago. The best duo ever. Their music will always live on.
We will never ever again hear the sweet harmony and full rhythms sound of these brothers. I am glad that I got to appreciate their talent at a young age...
If you're an Everly Brother's fan you need to get the 1983 Reunion Video at Albert Hall...simply superb and there's much more on it than the reunion alone. We miss you, Phil-very much.
I've been around a long time, these guys are in a class all by themselves. There never has been, nor will there ever be, any better, it's probably genetic, they are brothers. The sound and the harmony is unlike any other.
I'll never let you see The way my broken heart is hurting me I've got my pride and I know how to hide All my sorrow and pain I'll do my crying in the rain. If I wait for cloudy skies You won't know the rain from tears in my eyes You'll never know that I still love you so Though the heartaches remain I'll do my cryin' in the rain Rain drops falling from heaven Could never wash away my misery But since we're not together I look for stormy weather To hide my tears I hope you'll never see
When I die I am going to have a recording device that can be relied on that will be placed in my casket to continuously play music by the Everly Brothers. Hopefully the music will play on forever.
Going into the army in 1960, “ Cathy’s Clown “ was in the charts. I loved them then and have loved their singing all my life. I am now 77yrs and miss them greatly. R.I.P. you two special guys.
