I am a National Presenter for a Software company and travel to a lot of events doing presentations, I use Evernote for tracking all leads, planning events, meeting notes, and I will even use the full screen presentation mode at times. I was so impressed with this video that I forwarded it to our whole team and now more and more of our team are using evernote! I especially appreciated the email feature!

I originally found Evernote on the App Store as a result of doing an app review for my school newspaper, and I thought "I know, let's find something that is helpful!" and now I'm becoming fairly obsessed with using it. It's helping organise me extremely well! I'm just glad that I found this video to help me understand some more of the features. Great job, Scott!

Since you use the word "test" for almost every note, it is confusing sometimes. If you put food as example, try to create the notes and their titles which follow that thread, say like pasta etc. ill be easier for us. but thanks for video. after i'd broke my electronics and lost my docs, i think its important to use cloud as storage and this wud help with my notes

Pretty basic but I'm surprised two of my favorite features were downplayed by the presenter, and a third wasn't even mentioned. I use the Web Clipper a lot - if I find a professional article on-line (usually about technical communication, or about IT in general) or even an interesting blog post, I can use the Web Clipper on the "Simplified Article" setting to save that article into a notebook. I can even add tags to the article to make it easier to find later. Another feature I use often is the insert file feature. I keep a running log of my bills paid online in Evernote, in my Fiances notebook, and I use insert file to add a copy of the .pdf of the payment confirmation page as an attachment in Evernote. Third, the presenter didn't mention the mobile version at all. I downloaded the free mobile app on my phone or tablet first (then immediately on the other one - I just don't remember in which order) then downloaded the PC version for free. This means I can, for example, create a note with a checklist called "shopping list" and stand right in my kitchen putting together a list of what I need - on my tablet. I can then sync the app, and presto - my shopping list is on my phone. Believe me - it's a great time saver. I also check off items on the list as I buy them, and if there's something I can't find, or that I buy at a special store rather than the general supermarket - it stays on my list. I love that!

As of a few days ago I had never even heard of Evernote, so I am searching everywhere on how to use it. The biggest thing I have had problems with was setting up the folders and you have explained that perfectly!! Although I am not great with technical things like this, you have explained enough to get me off to a great start. Thanks so much for making this video!!

This tutorial was an eye opener. Especially, when you are just a beginner learning what can be done with one app from Google, let alone so many notes. It can be exciting, to carry enough information to complete a full research on small issue/s that can be combined into a full document. This will permit an new storage source for items of the same genre. Thank you and your team of people, for all the teamwork it took to put these tutorials together makin it possible to to teach 'How to use Evernote'.

An amazing fact: I was using evernote to take down some big notes for an english assignment when all of the sudden it forced three space gaps between each word, making it look horrendous with no way of fixing it. Amazing program if you want to get back at someone.

I appreciate the video but it would flow much better if you didn't use 'test' for every field. Imagine an instructor to a new driver talking about a man named Mario who lives on a street named Mario in a town called Mario. Then he says to get to Mario you have to follow these directions. The listener has to perform mental gymnastics to keep track of whether he's going to the house, the town, or the street.

Thanks for replying. I'll be using the iPad soon in my company aiming to avoid using so much paper in Board Meetings etc. And Evernote will revolutionize our daily tasks. I think the best part (answering your question) is sharing notebooks. My secretary will be able to prepare all documents for my meetings and share them with me and using the iPad during the meetings I can avoid having tons of paper! Best regards. Bruno

Thanks for the great video, Scott. I came across this when I was searching for a way to make various notebooks for my job. As a teacher, there are so many meetings and notes from those meetings, I was getting lost in all the paper and folders. I think that Evernote will be a way a great way for me to organize my work life and my personal life.

I have Apple and PC so this is just great for me to use for cross-platform. I wish I'd found it even sooner. I'm using for genealogy also. Never too old to learn, right? A 78 year old female is loving it!

I share audio notes all the time, usually created on the iPhone/iPad version of Evernote. All notes have a public URL, so when I get home, I find the URL and send it to the persons with whom I wish to share. As for the 'premium' version, the biggest advantage to me is the ability to access multiple evernote accounts. For example, if I create a note on my personal evernote account using my iPhone, I can then access that account from my work computer if it has Evernote premium.

I think by far, you are one of the best a teaching a getting your point across clearly to your audience. I certainly have learned a great deal from you. It would be a great help though if when you are creating examples that you did not you the generic word "test." Nice work. Web Clipper is easily the most important feature for me as I save all my online order confirmations, all my travel itineraries, every bit of research I do and many tidbits that I simply find interesting and Evernote captures the entire page trivially and of course it is fully indexed. This is vastly more effective than screen shots. Regarding stacks, a simpler method is to use very few notebooks along with the search feature and tags for organization. Very effective.

3) Evernote seems very well capitalised (financially strong). They also treat your data as your data i.e. they don't use the data for their own ends (c.f. Google, Facebook etc) and you can store the information on your PC if you want, so you won't lose any information.
