i wish mmo's this days would be as complex as everquest... so many races and classes.. the whole Good/netural/Evil thing is really cool Also some of the animations of this game looks better than wow's tbh
I meant the general idea of it ! Like having multiple factions that compete each other and are significantly different than one other instead of just having one single faction with a few races. Do you get it now ?
These graphics were amazing back in 2004, NO-ONE could run it on medium let alone the higher settings. Ever since, they've removed alot of stuff, which is quite strange as hardware is obviously getting better. Water is now only 2d, whereas it was 3d and had animation to it. Grass is no longer displaceable.
@OVKProductions Grinding means killing a ton of monsters endlessly to gain xp If one is not grinding, it means there is usually a lot of quests that fill the grinding role by its xp
It's no secret that this game is now a shadow of its former self. Sure the upgrades, patches, and expansions had been great, but now hardly anyone plays anymore. At the height of EQ2's popularity, the game was simply the best. The best mmorpg in recent history and underrated as hell.
"Oh he looks pretty weird, lets go with female" Sounds like a cop out to not give yourself out that you're one of those guys who enjoys playing female characters.
@DrSpecialBrown On the main servers, not that many. However, they have released time locked progression servers meaning they start from original eq and work their way up to the current expansion. Both servers are on veilious and have a decent amount of people in them.
@Flurolamp Partly free, you can play the extrended one for free but you're extremely limited, first member ship is a first pay, like 15 bucks or something, but if you want the good stuff you'll end up having to pay it monthly anyway, so it really depends how much you like it
@Bonelesher yeah you can play for free. There is some restrictions but they hardly limit you at all. For $10 or 1000SC you can go from Bronze to Silver which has almost no restrictions and that is only a one time payment. Other than that this game is free with very little limitations
Yes, some servers have a lower player count but have nicer people IMHO. The servers with high player count are the more popular but allot of people at those servers have many 'elitest' people.
I just started the trial Monday with my wife, we play about 2 hours a night and I have 2 level 14 characters, she has 2 as well, it's very easy to level in New Halas, and the quests are a lot of fun, you should check it out again now that GU57 is live, the New Halas is VERY different since it went live.
No. The only booster things you can buy in the shop (and those are few) only help you while soling and doesn't work in grouping content, so it doesn't affect you if you play with others which is good.
@Uilliam93 found it, it's actually called "Everquest II: The Complete Collection" and is only 15$ now actually. it's on amazon so I'd recommend that for sure
"yogis of everquest 2, what can you teach us about mathematics?" - limra and freyalanche "A Mystical root? the mathematical insights themselves,, seem to be whats causing mystical/psychedelic experiences. Rather than a specific material, it seems to be math insight (jnana) combined with proper meditation which truly elevates one unto the heights of consciousness." - an everquest 2 yogi
@xTraumHDx yes, look for Everquest 2 Extended and you'll find the version of the game that also connects you to the only free server that quite a few people play on :D
@MakontaButata you can loot from all regular mobs and solo enemy names and roll on zone bosses loot . then there are guilds who kill epics and roll numbers or other ways on loot drops .
@clayy000 This game was released in 2004, Everquest 1 and 2 are two of the absolute biggest mmorpgs to this day. Its pretty fun now even tho you cant enjoy it as much now as you did before due to graphics etc. If you like to quest and stuff in wow, you should try it out.
You can get from 1-20 in a day just by questing, no need to grind. You can lvl pretty easily via questing through most of the game but it takes longer. At lvl 90 pretty much the only way to lvl is to grind for several hours.
@AsLionsFL Actually the original Everquest was released in 1999 and contained all of these races. Wood elves, Dark elves, High elves, Lizard men and Cat men. So It's actually The Elder Scrolls that stole these races from Everquest. It's not the other way around.
the mathematical implications of 3 within geometry three is a number that mushrooms like if we align to three, the druidical principle states that we are more likely to channel the mushroom spirit and be able to tap into its energy on another plane of existence the mushroom works in threes, like korean philosophy or twos, that become threes (honoring its root in the traditional simplified yin yang), in funny ways, this is introducing a psychedelic concept to mathematics, the uncertainty a freak number a number that is both 2 and 3 and yet we've always had this concept there within math except its been explained to us as 2 divided by 3 2/3 but what if instead of 2 divided by 3 it actually means 2 becoming three or both two or three, oscilatted at a never predictable frequency... could be 2, could be 3 this represents mathematics, but its a place where there can be unspecific values this in itself is revolutionary, and yet it reflects life not all of life, needs everything to be totally defined to an infinite point and in reality, this is never actually possible, so why lie to ourselves trying to attempt it? though at first it may seem that to state 2/3 within the mathematical world is a foolish act, later on its realized to be actually a greater truth.. than thinking that any of the values we deal with are definite and that they need to be treated as such... these are not life and death situations... we're not dealing with anything in our life that needs to be THAT infinitely exact.. and if we are, we shouldn't... its not nessecary, and obviously its too dangerous, the only reason we would be in a situation like that is because its a life or death situation maybe a few trained scientific medical professionals need to deal with this, but even thats thats a big MAYBE and if so, they would be doing it through calculators, through intense scales.... so there would need to be people able to make those scales.. but thats possible... theres no reason for anyone to have to ever calculate something like that and to focus mathematics solely on the idea that theres someway to know with certainty and consistently solid actual values with absolute truth is ridiculous and limiting to the true meaning of math math is supposed to be helping our relationship with nature and the the universe, and treating it in the way mentioned above goes against this totally, because its not the way nature actually works no one has to get that specific and if they do, they are operating outside of whats helpful for their perception anymore you are creating something that is not going to be in harmony with nature those absolute details exist but can never be stated this is a reality of tao.. even if we think we know, we do not... the only detail that is totally real, is a large detail apparent to anyone with the naked eye the idea that mathematics can show you an absolute world is incorrect all mathematics can do is begin to show you the elemental world of nature and make that eternal revealing how for example buildings are constructed as the lunar operation of certain plants, so as to allow us to be environmentally friendly... in reality its the plant itself which causes a structure it exist... its spirits work between the realms and make the bridge its never because human beings do it... only a plant working through a human being can to try to know these exact dimensions of things, is to literally try to be a plant cell by means of logic alone which is horrible inefficient and pointless only a plant cell can be a plant cell, and its growth is spontaneous not a planned conscious thing... so seek not this kind of insight in math, instead link it with the living world around you, and let its spiritual implications lead you to meditative truth, this is the way of the sage. this is the non abusive application of mathematics within safety. see it as something that keeps the world ecofriendly, and something that clearly shows us what is useful and true, and what is not and is just ego. If you do it in the specific way, you will manifest that in your life experience, and it will destroy you because no one can uphold the energy nessecary to exist and balance things in a world like that, but if you realize that by holding only large apparent details to have a mathematical reality, you will manifest that in your world, and things will be simple, easy to balance and find peace in, easier to move in, easier to exist in. the reality is most beings see it like that, and they are correct, you can then find safe medicines safe quantities in a simple form rather than making substances real that invisible differentiations in their quantity can kill you.. its not only dangerous in a real life handling situations, its also inefficient, when just by seeing the world in a more general manner, other medicines will be made known to you, that you can use with the naked eye alone, that you were unable to see before thinking the world is a place with these invisible degrees of measure. all you do if you believe that is you cut through something that doesnt need to be cut through by beings like us, and its a world that has no meaning to us, nothing from that is supposed to be in this world, theres will ALWAYS be its equivalent in the world of naked eye details that is more important to find. - sealm7!bonao
@AbaraiRenji00 Yes, that is why MMO (Massively Multiplayer ONLINE) hut is doing a first impressions gameplay look....they are an MMO site, MMO = online
@EvazivSounds make sure you delete the folder in your C drive yourself . and have the latest directx installed that would be 10 unless windows 7 then it's 11 directx . the big part is what pc your trying to run it on the game takes good bit more power now than when it started back in 2004 .
My favorite MMOSs right now is ROM and WoW. I hope to get into rift soon. I don't see me playing Everquest 2 maybe 2 years ago but not now. The great thing about ROM is that its free, the bad thing is its a little laggy for me.
Help! According to the membership matrix, if you upgrade to silver you gain access to 8 new classes. But is the assassin class one of the 8 of the classes? I'm confused..Thanks in advance!
EQ2 is downscaling Spells/Player and Details/Player automaticly. Disable that in your Config, make a Video with 24x24 and post it on youtube to proofe it.
@Uilliam93 might be too late, but no you don't. what I bought was called something like the "new adventurer pack" on amazon which had everything up to sentinel's fate for 20$ and came with a good 60 days free play time. I'd recommend looking that up, great game I still play it.
I can haz question. I have bought EverQuest II a few years ago, and I have it on CD. So I never actually played it, but do I get any bonus for having it on CD? And it also says 3 months of free Subscription on the back of the CD case.
@DjangoEX But they didn't start putting Dark elves, Wood Elves, High Elves, Cat and Lizard men until morrowind. The first three Elder scrolls are nothing like the last three.
This game is not for WoW lovers. It's for people who care about story and content. I've finally decided to stick with it after years of disappointment from other games like WoW, Rift, and GW. I'll probably never experience the entire game considering they are creating EQ Next now but it is still so fun and a great experience. The community makes it even better, so friendly, helpful, and chatty.
@the2eyedcyclops they are players and those reading these post that use 4 to 6 year old computers . for their info a new pc is a major upgrade on how the game looks and runs i was one 2 years ago . of course it only gets so good and sure it's not as fancy as some newer games but the content is massive .
They Took the class part from Final fantasy but in all fairness Final fantasy was kinda one of the first RPG's so games will take a few things from it. The 24 playable Classes looks epic and whoever came up with that idea was a legend. The Game looks Very epic
@faheem7860 This is the normal EQ2, not Extended. But These are the old models of EQ2, you may be using the new Alternate Models, especially if you're using Extended. The creation layout is different, it hasn't been how it looks in this video for a while. I personally prefer the old models (in the video) than the new ones, just because I've played since the launch of the game. (:
Good old everquest a game that helped bring us out of the runescape and utima online engine of online gaming and it shown a completely new engine which every other type of Online games use. world of warcraft wouldnt even exist if it wasnt for everquest i believe some people do need to atleast respect the fact that this game. helped alot of other people think up newer ways to make online games fun and bring new things to the table.
please help me! I bought this game, and i created an account, but when i try to play it says i need a subscription! In the subscriptions info it says "Everquest II Extended: Active", is in Bronze membership, which is f2p, but over that it says "Everquest II: Closed". i have no idea what to do. I bought the All-in-one compilation pack
@thepatrikman yeah, there is the normal monthly version (no restrictions) or a gimpy as fuck free to play version (but hey, its free!). The game still has a lot of dedicated norrath fanatics and new faces.
@sarvannag EverQuest 2 has been F2P for awhile under the title EverQuest 2 Extended; however, they are going to push live EverQuest 2 servers to F2P now that they know how much money EQ2 Extended can generate. The PvP servers will be the best in my opinion. Fresh undergeared F2P players slaughtered in mass quantities daily will be very exciting. I would like to play EverQuest 1 as F2P as well.
@ChadH17 The Warcraft universe was created much earlier than Everquest, get your fact's straight. Also, WoW and Everquest 2 came out in the same year! Not to mention the fact that Ultima online spawned almost all MMO's. You've got some research to do.
Just a question but i hear this will be Free-to-play.. It look good and all but does that mean you will be locked from lots of content while you must either pay your way to become the best geared and play in explicit content? i just would rather pay my $60 for everything then be barrierd by money blocks.
No the game is F2P and you don't need to pay for anything! You can play until endgame without paying a dime, and you have every chance of being equal to other players without paying anything. All expansions have been made free but if you want to play the new expansions you have to buy it (around $35). I assume it will be made free when the next expansion comes out, i'm not sure. The game is really worth playing.
I played everquest 1 when i was just a kid with my dad and alot of good friends was alot of good times imma try this one on steam and hopefully have some kick ass times again
Im just starting today! I am a noob I hope its worth it! I am going to be using the pay version because I think in the long run its probably cheaper then the free to play version!
