Robin Hoffmann everyone made friends in this game, nowadays its like u play alone on the server, atleast on mine, no one responds to your questions, just spams his stupid items he wants to sell, its like playing with thousands of bots selling their shop mounts. yes that feeling is unique and u cant explain it to someone who never experienced it, its a good feeling and when u think about it, u had the best time of your life playing this game every day, u wake up, login and just have fun playing this game, for me its was really a second life...

My very first character was blood elf. Back then when i was a kid, new to this game i didn't know what to do. I did every single quest and explored the whole zone since i wanted to see other parts of the world. As i can remember i wondered Eversong Woods for 5 days. And this song never bored me. I will always love EVERYTHING arround the blood elf race!

+Ivo Iliev Me too!!!! When I was little, I remember my first character was a blood elf as well. I haven't played in 7 years. I might get it back up again, in the winter. This music, just everything about WoW really got me into gaming. I bet if I play it now, I'll be really good at it! I found a game that's similar to WoW, called "Tera Rising". It's kind of like WoW, but just doesn't have the right...feel...I guess. That might be because it's a free game. For anyone who wants to play WoW, but doesn't have the money or whatever to do it, just find Tera Rising!!! :3

Even from a non-nostalgic standpoint, this is a brilliant piece of music for Bloodelves and the zone you're in. Lots of mystery and ominosity going on, describing the beauty but also the melancholic downfall of the Bloodelves and the Lichking's Dead Scar he left. Also the instrumentation is just so on point, it's breathtaking. Especially the Cello @ 4:40 is just...Wow. An amazing piece of music.

i remeber the countless belf alts i lvled as a 10 year old kid. My dad played the game and I rly wanted to try wow. I made a few belf alts near the start of Mop. After leveling them up to lvl 3-7 i often gave up untill i rolled mage. I still remember how excited i was for each grey or white piece of gear, or when a piece of malachite of tigers eye dropped. Oh how i loved that. I got so happy over each spell. I got it up to lvl 12 at which point i kinda started alt making again untill going back to my mage. Around lvl 70 my dad got heirlooms on his alt and mailed em to me. I Got to lvl 90 after wod launched, but mained a dk for most of Wod. Wod is when i really started taking wow srsly. Now i was 12 and understood the game better. Now legion is out and ive gone back to my roots. Back to my old belf ways i went and decided to main a fire mage for legion.

Exploring those regions was incredibly immersive. It was such a complete experience, with those bright colours contrasting the melancholic and decadent aura, hinting at a glorious but remote past. In my humble opinion, the beauty and sadness expressed by that cello are unparalleled in videogame scores.

Virgilio Tagliaferri 100%, these blood elf tracks are 1 in a million. I wouldnt be surprised if the composer hasnt made anything this powerful and moving again. I feel he was very immersed in writing these pieces of music, and afterwards would have listened and been like "omg what have i created", at least would have haha
@ItIsMePotpourri
@ItIsMePotpourri 7 лет назад
This music is just so somber and bittersweet. When you roll a blelf and walk around, absorbed in all the warm colors and beautiful sights... and then this music plays and then you remember that 90% of your kind was slaughtered; raised as abominations before your very eyes. Your character most likely has had people torn away from them. They watched the Windrunner family be torn asunder, Sylvanas is now just an angry pit of vengeance and loathing. When you roll a blelf, play through their starting area, play through the ghostlands, and hear that unforgettable moment when Sylvanas sings the Lament of the Highborne you feel the weight of all that your character has seen and felt. Roleplaying a Sin'dorei, is one of the most immersive experiences in all of World of Warcraft. Its just so bittersweet roleplaying a race who is always trying to come off as perfect but is just truly hurting and scarred from their past.

This is WoW to me. Where my journey began. My first character was a female belf Paladin. I did all the quests and I got really into the story, so much that I felt a need to avenge my "kin" and kill Kael'thas when reaching the appropriate level. I explored everything there was to see, I got lost, I died a few times. I remember trying to solo things way above my level. As a Paladin it wasn't really that hard at the time. I'm still amazed how I managed to kill those elites in Ghostlands, something I struggled with on all my other toons even with full heirlooms. Darn Paladins... After finishing up in Ghostlands I went out the portal to Plaguelands, something many others seem to have done as well. Luckily for me someone questing there saved me so that I could run back. I later came back to level up a Rogue, which turned out to be my main. It was a joy reliving those zones and it still is. :) It is where I placed my rogue after logging out for the last time. The music and feel of some zones are what I miss the most about this game now.

He said "Take quests from here, and proceed to Ghostlands once you've reached Level 15." I was on his account because I didn't know what to make of the game; but after finals I decided to just give it a go. I only realised after logging off, five-six hours later-- that I was hooked; I wanted to be there again, chasing Mana Wyrms and have this music follow me everywhere, have my blood elf constantly remind me I didn't have enough Mana for that action, experiencing swimming for the first time under the bridge, hearing the jingle at unlocking new areas. I didn't leave Eversong Woods even after reaching Level 25 and gaining my first mount, and I couldn't say goodbye to that place or my character. Quitting after my own end-game Cataclysm, I still get the chills listening to this. Going there in-game isn't quite the same anymore-- and always I wish I could wipe my toon and memory and start again, like it's my first time-- chasing Mana Wyrms and have this music follow me everywhere.

I feel that way about the old Elwynn Forest, Westfall and so many other areas. I've tried so many times to get back into WoW but it never works out for me. Instead I just come here sometimes to listen to the music and remember all the countless hours I spent feeling relaxed and at peace leveling up and working on professions. I'm not saying the current game sucks, I'm sure it has its own charms but sadly it's just not for me.

+Soufiya daeds Beautifully said. I feel exactly the same. Still remember my first character ever, a blood elf male rogue I named Lethalshadow.( fking 12 years olds and their cool names) It was a blast . I was dueling everyone I met, trying to create strategies for how to beat them. I was afraid of reaching out because I thought in a pvp server everyone can attack you lol. It was the perfect vacation. Might I also add this though : They say you always feel nostalgic and come back to the places you grew up. I ''grew up'' in beautiful environments like eversong woods in wow and pre-searing ascalon in guild wars. The problem is , one day I will never be able to go back to these places again, once servers close down or whatever. All these memories ... It was all fake.
@StephanieMaple
@StephanieMaple 9 лет назад
+Joe Kensei Not any more fake than a town that changes in the real world. In the town where I grew up buildings have been put down and rebuilt into different things, stores have gone away and new ones have replaced them, it's still the same town but it doesn't look or feel anything like where I grew up anymore so I don't really get any nostalgia from it. Memories are in your mind and in your heart and no matter how many years go by long after WoW is gone we'll still have these tracks to listen to, like old pictures of the town you grew up in you can look back at and say "wow remember when that building was still there?" A lot of us share the same memories you have as well, that makes them even more real. ❤

I love how you can hear an echo of the lament of the highborne in most of the songs, which I think is pretty meaningful since the lore behind the song took place in that area. A lot of thought and work was obviously put into the making the music of the game and I think it turned out pretty damn beautiful.

I played WoW 2 weeks before Wotlk came out for the first time, made a blood elf and started my adventure. All I had seen from WoW was a music video of "World of Warcraft that you play" had an idea of what it was, but it was just a funny video, it wasn't until I actually played the game, that I appreciated the details of the structure of the world, the complex story, stepping into Ghostlands was haunting and eerie the first time I experienced it. This game was a hell of a trip for me and enjoyed it a whole lot.

This music is so mystical and it brings me back to a time when not only the game was younger -- but I too was much younger. I must have been about 14, and back then the world of warcraft seemed so huge! Endless things to do, places to explore. And this music instantly brings back that feeling of being a wandering tauren roaming the endless realm of Azeroth and beyond. LF mage port to 2007!

Cool to see people relating to characters. My first was Gnome Mage back 2005. But I started playing Blood Elf Rogue and played it for years, not as main of course, but it was a second main sort of. Played my main and BE Rogue equally actually. Wonderful memories levelling through Eversong, had extraordinary time with game like no other. That's why I got plenty of games, but no time to play them, since I only play WoW when I have time. My wife did too, so she stopped due to university, soon she will be back in game again. Hope it never ends. This game will always have a special place in our hearts!

i dedicated 5 years on this game with my friends. when i first played this game it was last inch of the original wow. so i do not have much exp of original wow but this, when this map was opened, and tbc opened, i started to get why wow is so great and we get hooked. when i hear this song i remember myself killing illidan and having goosebumps for seeing sunwell. also, the moment when i first arrived in land of lich king...wow. short cut, all i want to say is that this song is epic, nostalgic, and something you can never forget. sorry for poor english btw.

The voice of that cello splits my soul right open. It's easily one of the most emotionally loaded pieces ever composed. The nostalgia I have for my introduction to this game and the time I spent exploring it side by side with my brother now deceased is an anchor in my life.

I remember playing this during the Burning Crusade beta and hearing the Eversong theme for the first time. It felt so perfect. It's extremely somber, yet gentle and delicate, like the juxtaposition of the beautiful Eversong forest, and the unhealing scar of undeath cutting through it, serving as a bittersweet reminder of the genocide your character survived, but also the enormous responsibility falling onto your character as one of the last of your kind, to rebuild the world for future generations.

I don't know what it is, but the fascination with Elvish lore and character seems undying among many. Maybe it's how cold and calculating they can be, but so deeply emotional at the same time, or powerful, yet elegant beyond measure. Enchanting, mysterious, graceful, beautiful, powerful, loyal to their kind, ferocious, and out of this world. Whatever the reason, Elves from any novel, game, or film, are captivating in every aspect, and their language and song, such as this? Refreshing and mind-blowing... *Anu belore dela'na!*

+RubberDuckyDude32 100% agreed!! Elven mith, culture, magic and look is and always will be outstanding. I'm in love with the elven kin in so many ways, that I only play an elf character refusing the rest of the races, even human, if I play Roleplaying games. They send me to a place so enchanting and out of this world that no other race ever compare. ANU BELORE DELA'NA!

I remmember playing first time TBC. My brother younger then me gived me world of warcraft and said try. When i created my first character Belf female priest i felt in love with the music in the game, the massive world, when i opened the world map i couldn't believe how much zones to explore awaits for me. I never knew what is going to be on the coner and every time game amazes me entering new zone. The game looks so collorful that i would love to live in it. After TBC i never had same feeling bcos i already experiencing same zones. But first touch felt something special and i won't be able to feel the same way again.People been friendly and more chill then now, to find random player and talk would mean find friend in game. Everyone depends what faction you been wants to help new incomers or give tips how to go there and there. People weren't rushing. So most of them enjoyed lvling experience. For new players like me back in TBC he game was new and fresh and Bliz needs to create new World of warcraft 4 with new zones or atleast upgrade old places or custom old zones. Because what gets old needs to be upgrade. Don't you think guys? And not destroy the zones like they did in cata. Just create more wilderness

I didn't play in BC, I joined in MoP, but damn can I appreciate the beauty in this theme. Heck, I even play Alliance mainly but I still love this music. It just completely encompasses what a Blood Elf is supposed to be; strong, reserved and sublime. Not only that, but one of my first characters was a Blood Elf Hunter, so this music was one of the first I heard in the game, and I loved every bit of it. Every now and then I log onto my Blood Elf Demon Hunter and just sit around in Eversong, enjoying the music and the scenery.

This is a masterpiece! It's like the pleasant music captures the magic, elegance and might of the Blood Elf race while the creepy negative sounds you hear with it remind you of the dark side the the Blood Elves, the addiction and the costs that they will go to just to feed it. This is how I interpret this music anyway.

I can remember my mom coming home with the World of Warcraft expansion The Wrath of the Lich King, and I instantly put that sucker downloading. It took about 3-4 hours because I had a very old laptop, but it finished at like 8pm and i stayed up until about 2 in the morning play a blood elf paladin, then i spent the next day trying out all the different types of classes, because the only MMORPG mindset i was used too at that time was runescape. and this felt so new and refreshing. it took me forever to figure out a class i wanted. and i remember picking the paladin to lvl, and just questing ALL day in eversong doing every single quest there was. then i took my first step into silvermoon and was just in awe of the vastness of it. was a beautiful moment, then moving on to the ghostlands which was very intense and hard, because leveling was still very difficult in WOTLK. But, back in Lich King was THE MOST FUN i have ever had on wow. because it was all me and my m8s from school and we would play like crazy. And they were both high leveled so i would look up to them. ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh NOSTALGIA!

part of me wishes i had spent my time differently when i was 12-13, during the summer of 2007. i don't play video games a whole lot anymore and often feel regret over how they consumed my life as a kid. what if i had studied instead? what if i had taken music lessons? hindsight is 20/20 though, and moreover, i can't blame myself for having been a typical fun-loving kid. my dad was probably too poor to have gotten me music lessons anyway. this game, like most, definitely had artistic merit, and this song is a great example of that. i guess in that sense it was enriching. I don't know how much the fuzzy half-memories are worth--i played on an Oceanic server despite living in Michigan, and i certainly don't talk to any of the internet friends that i played with anymore. this song brings back memories of the 2000s internet and the experience of being a kid on the internet prior to the current era of social media. when I wasn't playing WoW, i was roleplaying high fantasy on forums with other kids from different parts of the world. lots of childhood friendships that began to fizzle out after a few years due both to the physical separation embodied by the internet and to the divergence of life paths embodied by the coming of age. lost communities. spaces that existed before and may never exist again. we were then and are still going through an era of unprecedented change with technological advancement and the climate crisis. shit is crazy. i love this song.

Oh man. I think one of the best parts of these pieces is around 7:17 when those reeaally low notes on the double (octo?) bass that are so low you can hear the individual pulls of the bow on the bass string. It makes you have this reaction with your upper throat almost as if you're trying to hit the lowest note you can. It provokes imagery of an ancient, yet somewhat tortured forest; you can literally hear the trees groaning with the weight of the eons, communicating laments in ancient tongues. I always imagine as if I'm in awe as I'm walking for the first time through the transition from the light, wispy, mysterious forests to these heaving, ancient growths. You'll need to put on a decent headphones to hear it properly.
