a couple weeks ago I was at a table and I was hopping the Hard 4 and increasing the bet $1 with each roll. My turn came up to shoot and my hop bet was at $13 and I rolled a H4 for a win of $390 the 4 became the POINT. on the very next roll I rolled another HARD 4 so I made the Point. The BEST part was I forgot to pull down my $13 that was sitting on the Hop 4 bet (since it won it was still there). SO I made another $390 !!! plus made the point with double odds on the pass line, and I also had a regular Hard 4 bet so in Two Rolls I had a payoff of $855.00 $390 + $390 + $40 + $35 Love The Hardways, Sometimes that's all I bet on!
I like the strategy videos, crack up at the Alex/David banter videos - but absolutely live for these instructional videos, deep dive, things to know as a player, things to know as a dealer, etc.
this was one of your best videos in my opinion . im not good at math so many of your videos i get lost right away and you move fast but this was perfect for me. i knew the basics but now i feel confident to go Hard 😉
Thank you! I love the hard ways but didn't know about the parlay part with the dealers. Next time I see a table I'm going to be rolling with the dealers. Much love keep up the work and thank you again!
Great comments at the end about the team game and collaboration side of craps, it’s exactly why it’s such a fun game. Would love videos where you discuss the ‘philosophy’ side of betting and bringing the dealers in more
Because of you guys and this channel, I played my first ever craps game at a casino. I loved it and can’t wait to get back in there. THANK YOU for all the educational videos
Of course you loved it. Junkies love that first shot in the arm, too! Just don't let it take control and you should be all right. The old budget trick. Leave the rent check at home, etc. etc. etc.
Nicely done. It’s probably not the smartest thing, but I always bet the hard ways and have many stories of my wins climbing up into the tens of thousands of dollars just by letting them ride.
I'm ALWAYS betting the hardways The amount of Hard hits I've gotten while other people stay off is ridiculous. I usually start with 80 inside and 20 on the hardways and press til I hit a hardway or til I hit 3 times. My craps win percentage went up 3 fold after finding you guys. Especially the 30 roll craps challenge. Thanks for all the tips Dave!!!!
Great video! What about wait till a 6 or 8 is a point then put chips only on the hard way 6 and 8. Say the point is 8 even if it rolls on 5 and 3 combination you will lose that hard way, but still make money from the pass line. Make it even more fun also sometimes put chips on the field. Or am I not seeing downside to this? Only time i would avoid hard ways is if the point is a 5 or 9.
I usually bet two-way hard ways. I think I will start doing the two way parlay. Getting the dealers involved for me is the best thing about craps. Because no one is paying off the house in a session of craps! Have fun!! ...Claude
David thank you for bringing up things I never thought of on the hardways! Now I am tempted to use them for more than protection on the outside numbers. MNJ
thanks Mr. David... I'm slowly beginning to understand the payouts... what i'm having trouble with is the differences between place, buy, lay and the amount for a vig... also please explain what the difference between a 3X-4X-5X table and a 10X table... 👍👴👍
Place bet on the 4 or 10 pays $9:5. Place bet on the 5 or 9 pays $7:5. Place bet on the 6 or 8 pays $7:6. Buy bet on the 4 or 10 pays $2:1 minus a 5% vig on the amount you bet. Lay bet on the 4 or 10 pays $1:2 minus a 5% vig on the amount you win. Lay bet on the 5 or 9 pays $2:3 minus a 5% vig on the amount you win. Lay bet on the 6 or 8 pays $5:6 minus a 5% vig on the amount you win. See how simple that is? A table that allows 3-4-5X Odds means that if the point is 4 or 10, you can add 3X Odds to your Pass line bet. If the point is 5 or 9, you can add 4X Odds to your Pass line bet. If the point is 6 or 8, you can add 5X Odds to your Pass line bet. If you are at a 10X table, you can add 10X Odds to your Pass line bet, no matter what the point is.
Great video! Thank you! Quick clarification question, if you ask for a Two-Way Parlay on the Hardways but don't add "under player control", that means that the parlay is only good for the first hit and they will move it to the middle and then if that hardway hits again they will be forced to take it down? Is that correct? Would your parlay on that second hit still be "automatic" in that scenario? I.e. you start with $1 each ($1 for you $1 for the dealer), you hit a hard 8, to make it $10 for you, $10 for the dealer (dealer moves their $10 to the middle for the next hit?) , hard 8 hits again, do you automatically get setup with your $100 on the hard 8 and they would take their $100 down? Thanks again for the content! :)
I'm new to craps and roulette. All the strategies I've been learning have come from Alex and Daddy Dave. My question is: why would you bet for the dealers? It's not like they are the ones rolling the dice or helping you win. Why not just give them a tip from your winnings at the end of the night?
It's just a different way of trying to tip the dealers. Personally, I tip the dealers $5 as soon as I step up to the table and then tip another $5 every 20 minutes when the dealers rotate. I also tip $50 to $200 when I color up and am getting ready to leave, no matter if I win or lose.
Nice video information. I have a question, if I bet for example $2 on Hard way #10 and $5 on easy #10 , if the hard way show first I got $18 and not lose my bet on the easy #10, but if the easy #10 shows first I got $9 but I lose my $2 on my hard way? Let me know if I'm right. If that true, can you do a video for a good strategy betting the two sides hard ways and easy way at the same time? Thanks in advance
How confident are you to parlay the craps bet on the same shooter twice? I’d be probably turn them off after the first parlay hit and then turn them back on for a different shooter. Side comment, I’ve played the electronic craps tables (where the machine bounces the jumbo dice) and I’ve literally seen where the hardways won’t hit for over 100 rolls (it counts how many rolls in between) How wild is that?
The best thing to know,,, is it is a BAD bet. Hefty house edge. A 10 loses from any 7 (6 ways), a 4/6, a 6/4 (2 more) 8-1 true odds. Casino pays 7-1. Casino edge. Should be $8 on a $1 bet. $7 instead is the house keeping 12.5% of the $8. Same on hard 4. It isn’t as ugly on hard 6 n 8 (pays $9 not $10, 10%). These are bets that should be 100% avoided. Parlays happens. If you win, parlay and win again, I’d never parlay that for a third try. Maybe press, double the bet. The Goal is chips in you rail. Now risking $1 on a point #, or $1 for ea hard way, it wont break you, and they are fun. I would never bet more than $1 on a hard way because of the terrible odds. It’s one of the worst the game offers. That was missing from the talk. I love everything you do otherwise. Great channel.
Thanks for the great instruction, David! I'm a bit of a newbie and had an incident I have a question about. I wanted to hop the 5's so I gave $10 to the dealer and told him to hop the 5's. He then said, "hard or easy?" Well, there is no hard way 5 so I was confused and didn't answer. They took my bet though. Is there more than one way to bet the hops?
there is only 1 way to bet a hop bet & the hops can be bet any time, including come out rolls. I often hop the hard ways on the come outs, & sometimes other numbers if I have a hunch they will be showing up. the dealer was probably just joking ?
Also, what are hops? I'm at Balleys in Evansville Indiana now, and every weekend in February to use my $750 in free play and my complimentary three night hotel stays with food. (I had an exciting November)
A hop bet is a one roll bet. If you think that the dice will roll as 4 on one die and 6 on the other die on the next roll, toss the dealer $1 and tell him that you want to hop the 4 - 6. If it rolls, you would win $15.
For the dealer bets, is it better to just bet for them or offer them an option (e.g. “I’ve got five bucks for the dealers, you wanna play?”) Can you still bet the hardways for them if you aren’t playing the hardways yourself?
Years ago I won a poker tournament for$2100 at Sams Town in Vegas, had a few drinks and heard all this screaming at the craps table, this guy was rolling for ever,so I put down $300 on box cars and 2 rolls later he hit it for me, I pulled my winning, tipped the dealer $100 and placed $100 on box cars for the guy rolling and left! Hope he won.
Hard ways make my head hurt…looking at 10…if die A is 5 (1 in 6 chance), then die B must be 5 (1 in 6 chance) to make 10….if die A is 6, (1 in 6 chance) die B must be 4 (1 in 6 chance) to make 10. Hard ways don’t seem any more likely or unlikely to hit than Easy ways.
The prop is a bit weird. There are no rules to prop minimums it up to the casino. Usually, if you can bet red on the table ($5 $10 $15 Tables) you can bet dollars on the props. If it is a green game ($25, $50 ) you have to bet $5. Now there are exceptions. Last I hear Wynn, known for a $25 table and higher, will let you bet $1 on the props. - Dennis
You left something out in regards to the hardways on a come out role. I.E. my hardways are working and I have $5 on each hard way. I can also put $5 on the Big Red and that will protect my hard ways.
