Everton 2-0 Liverpool and Klopp's Premier League title hopes are over as Liverpool's season descends in to disappointment. Mark Goldbridge reacts to the latest football news.
Liverpool were in a false position anyway imo, we haven't consistently dominated like champions, now we haven't been clinical in the last month and are where we deserve to be
@@shootingstar5039no you bottled it. Arsenal have already been called bottlers by every rival fan for the loss against Villa. If what Arsenal did this season is a bottle, so is Liverpools
You’re right in that it’s not good enough, but the reality is just that - they’re not good enough. City and Arsenal are better than us right now. For Liverpool to win the league this year, would be to defy all odds and beat out two teams that are considerably better in this moment. Doesn’t happen often.
You get what you deserve. We should have won a few more games but ultimately it was the injuries & refs that killed our season. That is, when we got the injuries the younger players stepped up well but when our big guns returned they lacked the rhythm and intensity that Klopp demands and deserves. Even today the ref was shocking, changed the game to help Everton. Soft refereeing in a Mersyside Darby, what a disgrace.
@@petergiannopoulos3423Let’s be honest, LFC players were the softies tonight, no blood or guts on show, no real fight. Everton bossed us where it mattered, good luck to them, deserved win.
I am very happy for two reasons, firstly, Arsenal are now clear of one of the contenders and secondly, as a kid in the 60's, I loved Everton because my World Cup hero, Alan Ball, played for them. In 1970, my world was complete when Arsenal signed him from Everton. Since those days in the 60's, I have always had a very soft spot for Everton so always enjoy an Everton win in the derby.
Mark the only reason we (Everton) are in a relegation battle this season is because of the points deduction. We would be on 41 points without it and be 14th, which is a great improvement on last year in which we stayed up on the last day.
Agreed, from a neutral perspective I've found the whole "Everton relegation candidates" angle has been a bit mad. Solid side, showed it today, they won't tear it up on the pitch but nowhere near relegation fodder. Big stride from last year, they'll be just fine
It was United, Mark. That lost FA cup quarterfinal against your team just shattered this Liverpool team's core belief that they can do anything this season, sky's the limit. They wanted to give Klopp the best sendoff ever so much that they got absolutely lost after exiting that competition, and the way it happened. If not much else, Man Utd can be proud of that achievement this year... :')
Has nothing to do with united, but it's funny how united fans always like to take credit for something they had nothing to do with. It was the fact that Liverpool made it on luck where they are now. Diaz, Nunez and Gapko are just overated as players and they played half a season with academy players.
He should have walk away then. To much off field noise.."Klopps farewell tour" "Xabis coming home" "Xabi staying in Germany" "Amorin coming in" "Amorin in talks with West Ham"..
What is the meaning of « bottle » ? Apart from when we’re talking of an actual bottle of water; Is that a verb or a British saying ? (Non-English speaker here)
@@Do27gghow is losing at home to crystal palace and then getting turned over in a derby during the title run in not bottling? the talk was that liverpool had the easiest run of fixtures of all three teams in the race and look at the results they’ve gotten
Not a Liverpool fan, but they have been brilliant under Klopp. They have played excellent football and run a quite magnificent City very close for a few years. They have some excellent kids coming through too. Klopp has been amazing for Liverpool.
Even rivals respect what Klopp has done for Liverpool and especially the PL, but there are some disgraceful Liverpool fans who are ranting about him being absolutely terrible.
@@samuelkoomson6017 Klopp's Liverpool has been the most entertaining team to watch in the PL over the past few years. And he has only been the one who really challenged Pep, if not City would have been comfortably sitting at the top all alone and it would have been an extremely boring league without even a title race.
At the start of the 2nd half of this season I predicted that Liverpool would crumble. There's no structure in the attack since Firmino and Mané left. Their front 3 players, whomever is included in it are just good individuals that are simply doing their own thing. There's no cohesion, no connexion, no pattern of play. And their game has just become a business of kicking the goal forward quickly and hoping the receiver will score. They call it chaos. Well, it can't be further from the truth at this point.
@@hen5555 Could be, it's yet to be revealed. I think the final form is the black suit, black tie, white shirt, Mafia hit man outfit favoured by Ancelotti.......
@@LeominsterFC And that statement is based on what? Your reply is the least informed, most biased comment in the entire comment section. See how anyone can say nonsense? Doesn't make it true.
Dyche gave his boys straightforward tasks. They delivered the goods with vigour, in front of a roaring Goodison. Everton deserved both their win and their clean sheet!😅
no , keep playing trent in the right back/wing is the worst decision. every team targets trent because his poor fitness level alway jogging back and when he is back there other players just walk through him. he supposely a good midfielder but cant even get into the england squad
I think Liverpool have been massively overperforming for a while. Remember, they weren't really expected to be challengers this season, and with all those injuries mid season, it's surprising that only now they are starting to collapse.
I agree Liverpool got through the injuries period really well and have just run out of steam!!! I am an Arsenal fan and it was the same for us last season , we lacked and maybe still lack one or 2 game changers, the type that find the back of the net when the team is struggling a bit. I didn’t think we would win last year as we wasn’t ready and I didn’t give Liverpool a chance this year, so credit to Klopp and the team for running it very close again. Idiots use words like bottle jobs , not their own words , just a band wagon they jump on. Coming close in a league title chase to city is pretty impressive. Every team behind them has bottled it , in that theory. I see Chelsea and spurs fans criticising pool or arsenal. Jealousy and fear are powerful BS generators.
If you look at the three teams, it's no coincidence that LFC finishes 3rd; far more injuries, and referees robbing them on end. You can't win, while competing against other good teams then. City went out early in Carabao, Arsenal went out early in Carabao and FA, while LFC competed on 4 fronts.
@@michaelbishop502thing is tho we had to use a league one defender at the etihad when Liverpool had Crystal Palace to deal with so the situation is different yet we are the bottlers. Make it make sense
So Szoboszlai (signing of the season), MacAlister (world cup winner), Salah (best right winger in prem history), Trent (best right back in prem history), van Dijk (best CB in prem history), Endo (best value signing of the season), Alison (best keeper in prem history), Robertson (best attacking left back in prem history) and Nunez (chaos merchant) only managed a league cup in Klopps farewell season 😂
@@philipmorrison5284 they would still be top and would have had a buffer which makes a difference mentality and possibly wouldn’t have lost these games.
Surely Liverpool fans will get behind Arsenal instead of city... City are making this league dull, premier league is losing it's aura from Citys domination.
@@LegitVenomWas the league losing its aura when Man United were winning titles non stop in the 2000s? Or did you just say this because you can’t stand City?
Thanks for your videos love them all. As a Liverpool fan I think it’s probably got to do in part with the😅 uncertainty that comes from new staff in the office and who’s going to be the next manager. It leaves me feeling unstable and I’m in Thailand nowhere near the pressure. I think it’s very hard to block out all the emotional upheaval. It must be heart wrenching for them YNWA 💚⚽️⚽️⚽️
@@mockinghyena960 hes meaning that hes disappointed that liverpool has probably bottled the title vs everton hahaha you bottled the title, at goodison park you bottled the title, at goodison park you bottled the title, at goodison park
Opponents are now much stronger than when ferguson was around. Training, fitness, etc. Liverpool have had many long term injuries that without the outcome of this title race would be different. No one expected Liverpool to be in a race. Theyve done exceptionally well. Bournemouth fan
As an arsenal fan I'm extremely worried. Don't get me wrong arsenal are superior but an away derby against tottenham almost always means dropped points.
@@jasonlemrise It's Tottenham's biggest game of the season in front of a frothy mouthed crowd, most of which would rather stopping us win the league over getting a champions league place. Wary doesn't come close.
Exactly!! This is why, as an Arsenal fan, I've learned over the years to keep my mouth shut! I won't be bantering any Liverpool fans over last night's result!
Liverpool fans should be grateful Klopp put you in a place to bottle it, had no right to be at the top with that team, 3rd is a massive improvement on last year
@@Luis-kv8zc Oh stop this pathetic excuses!! You know damn well that Pep is THE BEST just don't want to accept it becuz he's not your Manager and Klopp is
As a Liverpool fan gotta say I really like this guy. He's always worth a watch and I like his fairness and honesty. Respect.. defo deserve the like and subscribe!.
Well put Mark. At least they gave us memorable and exciting games to watch, not just turn up end of season and suddenly start playing well like some teams we could mention.
Picture this: Liverpool glimpsing a light at the end of the tunnel, a beacon of hope, only for Everton to saunter in, whistle nonchalantly, and demolish the tunnel entirely, burying that light under layers of merciless rivalry.
They are choking. Over confidence started in January and that is a recipe for disaster. Perhaps Salah having to go to the Africans Cup did not help as he is obviously the super star on the front line.
Thank you Mark for your honest review of the game. As a Liverpool fan I am gutted about the way we have fallen off so quickly,. Klopp has been a brilliant manger for us. I agree we have had some wrong decisions awarded to us, BUT so have many clubs, so no excuses there. I hope we win the reminder of our games. YNWA
how did this break you? 7 weeks of playing like mongrels watch the football at least this result is not a suprise for most liverpool fans bring on next season
How times change. I swear Liverpool fans are biggest hypocrites. Just till last month before FA cup defeat and after cup win , every Liverpool fan was talking about quadruple season. And just after couple of defeats and every Liverpool fan is saying how they were never good and city spent billions and Arsenal this and that.
If Everton beat Brentford on the weekend, then added their +8 pts back, they'd be equal on points with Brighton. Oh, Brighton, amazing football and an amazing manager...Sean Dyche is a bottom-feeder and a survivalist. We pick up another 6 points and add that on; a lot of people should think a little differently about Sean Dyche and where they would have been. Plus, maybe without the deductions, they may have picked up even more points.
Just the EFL cup for Klopp in his farewell season by the looks of it. Maybe announcing he was leaving so early in the season was a mistake after all, and put too much pressure on the players to win all they could for him. Although, to be fair, it was said it was about to be leaked anyway.
The pure hate in some football fans is hilarious - say who you support as well? Don’t be shy? Probably a bunch of Chelsea and Spurs fans crying. As a Liverpool fan we simply aren’t good enough to win the league but I wouldn’t say we bottled it. Arsenal definitely deserve it and fook City
Naah if you're in a winning position in an easy run of fixtures you've bottled it. Spurs bottled it in the Leicester season. And Arsenal bottled it a few times not just last year. Liverpool bottled it when Suarez scored 30 and Stevie slipped.
@@ryanrogers52Liverpool led the title race for most of the season to, in 2024 they sat on top of the pl for months. They were also 5 points clear of arsenal in February now they’re 3 points behind,
@@ashik117how is that even remotely relevant, we are talking of this season and bottling a 5 point lead in the January, we lost against Villa and had talks of bottling but with Liverpool I hear nothing.
The Klopp era wasn’t all that if we’re being honest. He choked in a lot of competitions and league races. The only reason they won the champions was because they faced a team that was allergic to winning trophies (Spurs) 😂
You remove a team with 115 charges and Klopp becomes immensely successful, but it's too early to have that discussion. The CL final was the win at Anfield over Barce, that was spectacular.
It’s funny how these so-called television expert pundit’s don’t call Liverpool "BOTTLE JOBS" but they were calling Arsenal that straight away last season. Unbiased? You’re having a laugh.
Can’t even blame it that way lol. We lost to palace and Everton lol. Got throttled by Atalanta. Just fell off a cliff. What a season to start following closely lol
Just the league Cup? When there are only 3 trophies available and only 1 in Europe its not bad to take home silverware given that state sponsored corruption in the form of Man city will take half of the 4 cups available as an absolute minimum requirement its a bloody miracle to get hold of just 1 pot
