Hot Customs you didn't feature my favorite 1/64 brand! Minichamps64 have maybe the best details for a 1/64 I have seen so far, especially the race Porsche 934 like the Jaegermeister or Vaillant. They were only produced for a very short amount of time (2010 I think) and sadly they cancelled the line of Porsche 962. I urge you to research Minicamps64 and maybe buy an example for your collection? Awesome review!
Nice & very useful categorization! Tomica (esp. TLV/N) is my fav. But recently I also impressed with CM's (world rally series), have you ever tried it? Happy weekend!
This is the best guide to 1:64 die casts I've seen. Thank you for showing the pros and cons of each and now I know exactly what to look for! Excellent video!!
My favorite brand is Tomica’s TLV series, but I also love Hotwheels’ car culture series for its durability and the variety. I didn’t have much car model when I was a kid, but in my teenage years, I got really into car histories and car mechanics, and just a few years ago, I thought to myself it would be interesting to have some car models that I cannot buy the real ones. So I started to collect mostly vintage cars made before 2000s, because those cars in real life are expensive and difficult to maintain. Some people would find hot wheels car culture kinda boring, all I can say is that it will not be boring once you know the history behind it.
TLVN FTW. I want to have a model that looks amazing AND can roll AND has suspension, its the holy trinity imho. Yes, it can get VERY expensive, but worth every penny.
MiniGT should be in the premium. I just bought 700+ dollars worth of kyosho models. And I'm a little disappointed. The quality and scale of minjgt is better in my opinion
Kyosho has artificially inflated their pricing for some reason. Castings that would have been $5USD 10 years ago are now being suggested to be sold at $20+. I think the general detail of their offerings has gone down substantially over the past 13 years or so.
@@seismic6435 i wish I would of had this conversation with you before I bought 25 castings from Japan. I'm not extremely mad, but they were not worth the price
@@t3true-games directly from Japan or through eBay? Japanese eBay users almost always hyperinflate their askings for whatever reason. There are plenty of sellers on ebay who offer cheaper options for older casrings, you just have to be diligent
I think Mini GT should be in the premium side, they just don't have that premium price. Their castings are very nice, some of their casting are better that Tarmac like the supra.
Shoutout from me, my favorite 1 64 scale diecast cars was the tomica premium and the WRC cars of majorette So thank you for the upload this video, THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!
Great overview, thanks for going over all the categories, I think there’s something for everyone there 🙂. I’m really liking what inno64 and tarmac works are doing lately, very impressive, but I’m right there with you on tlv, I love the simplicity and stock castings along with their (typically) great qc and attention to detail.
Which 1/64 scale have used plastic wheels for cars all time Hot Wheels Ertl Greenlight Auto World Code 3 Johnny Lightning Jada Matchbox, Maisto, Siku, Norev, Corgi, Tomica, Autoart, Edocar, Kyosho, Tarmac Works, iscale, Time Model, Make Up, Majorette, Schuco, Welly and others?
I’m starting to venture into more premium stuff. As of right now I’m loving MiniGT and Sparky64. In my area, hobby dealers sell Sparky for ~$10 USD and the race cars I’ve gotten from them look fantastic for the price!
Love all tomica and Tarmac works.. Tomica Reg/Prem/TLV/N for its variety, detail, playable and yes classic car! Tarmac for all racing car!! I like Mini GT too, but now its always nissan r35, r35 and r35.... plis stop that LBW... And There's Hotwheels for fun.
I love this vid, man. I am new to collecting 1:64 scale cars and this video is really informative. I would like to recommend you Hobby Japan's 1:64s. I was really impressed with the Initial D AE86 that I got and to be honest, that got me into collecting other 1:64s. I'm currently waiting for the Takahashi brothers' RX-7s and both of those cars have their respective figures in them now unlike the AE86. I've been watching your other videos too and I gotta say, man, you got yourself a new subscriber!
I'm in love with Schuco, have a few castings from them. MiniGT is another favorite. Inno64 is awesome, have a few. Have one Error. And one of the prettiest castings I have is a Singer 911 by Timothy & Pierre. My biggest problem with all of those is I can only find them online$. My absolute favorite is, always was & always will be, is HWs. From mainline to RLC, HWs is it for me. But it's really becoming a pain to collect them because of the resellers. They have completely ruined HWs. It's not just RLC that they've ruined, it's simple mainlines too. The part of the US I live in is over populated making it very, very difficult to find things when resellers strip the pegs.
@@HotKustoms I did not contact them, just displayed them in my collection and put the mirror/windshield wiper in a plastic bag to reattach them with some super glue. Otherwise, the rest of the models I got from them were great. I've had really good experience with Error404 when I ordered the Impulse R33. which I don't believe you've looked at. It's really nice, heard only 499 pcs per color though.
I doubt if I will ever go back to Tarmac - all the 3 models I've ordered were new and had scratches on the windshield, broken wipers, and paint chips. In fact I was going to order 2 more expensive Tarmac models but cancelled the order. QC is poor. I ordered an Ignition model along with Inno 64 and Stance to experience a broader range. I am considering and confused between composite or resin 1:18 scale in AutoArt vs Ignition
Where would biante sit? I've encountered a problem with the premium hotwheels where, if it has multiple paint designs like a carbon top and purple side Pontiac GTO, the top layer ie. The purple will peel off
i only collect hotwheels n a few tomica n that's just bcs i only buy the cars that are close to my heart. but now that im working im starting to become more interested in collecting more premium models with more details. your video really helped. i think im gonna start collecting tarmac works cars, especially the rwbs. your purple car looks really sick!
@@HotKustoms I don’t agree mini gt is miles away from greenlight, auto world, hot wheels premium, tomica premium etc. Mini gt Mercedes, Corvette etc looks better than some Tarmac Works castings. Cost doesn’t mean much. For examole HW RLC costs much and it’s a toy, doesn’t even look like a model... currently Mini gt is the best value for money and they are improving quickly.
Have you tried PGM? I have a few and would consider them ultra premium, even more detail than ignition model and all doors, hood, and trunk opens. They’re also doing models nobody else is doing like the Ferrari 250GTO
Excellent overview of the categories and brands. I like how you divided them and it makes sense. I mostly collect MiniGT, Schuco, Auto World from the mid range brands. From the premium brands Inno64 and TLV and some Tarmac Works.
My only issues for the premium brands is that most of them are resin models. Especially TWs, even though they’re not resin models, I still can’t get to at least have one because they don’t roll which is disappointing for me really. I commend Kyosho and Hobby Japan for sort of taking on TLVN. It is because for me they are the far supreme premium line because they roll. They are still cars, so at least they must roll. Even though I still yet don’t have pcs from HJ and Kyosho, as what I’m seeing on the reviews on youtube, they roll, even though not smoothly but they roll quite nice. I think you forgot to mention Para64 hehehe. I have 1, it is the LBWK BMW i8 and it’s so beautiful hehehe. Well however, it doesn’t roll when I got it, but still, I’m planning to repair it soon since it has a screw base. But anyways, great comparison video.
Tremendous video. Loved it. Great analysis. Pretty much agree with you on all points. My favorite brands? 1. Mini GT. 2. Auto World. 3. Greenlight. 4. TLV. 5. Inno64....but incollect from all brands including M2 and Johnny Lightning which were not included here. Para64 is another cool brand.
@@HotKustoms YM model is very high quality and very nice but expensive and fragile in my experience (I havent broken any but I'm super careful). Timothy and Pierre and Fuelme are in the same bracket too. Maybe ultra premium.
1. MINI GT (easily my favorite as price ratio to what you get is awesome and easily available) 2. Tarmac Works 2. Inno64 3. Auto World 4. Para64 5. Hot wheels Premium line Never owned a TLV and probably never will due to insane High secondary market price.
