According to the wiki of "Don't Wake Kate!" there was a parents and teachers section of the older PBS kids website and it stated that the game was created to teach sighted children what it's like to be blind
It's a shame the old Arthur games I played back in the 2000s don't seem to be available on site anymore. The one where you got to design the aliens that abducted Buster was my favorite.
16:40 Okay I distinctly remember an episode where-and this wasn't a subplot or anything-Ratburn basically neglected his class, and essentially stalked Arthur's dad just so he could mooch off him for some cake.
I remember Don't Wake Kate and the asthma one! I think there were a bunch of other older Arthur games that got removed from the website (probably because Adobe Flash no longer works), in my opinion they were way better!
@@annlamptey9650 I remember the ice cream one too! I also enjoyed playing a "game" in which you create an alien species and watch Buster visit a planet full of them.
My favorite Arthur game they had on the site for the longest time was an alien creator called Alien: Assembly Required. It looks like they don't have that anymore though. Might've died with Flash. The old PBS Flash games were so good. One of my favorites was a train track placement one for the show Cyberchase
I suspect Flashpoint might have a copy of it. I remember there being a ton more flash games back in the day, especially under Arthur's domain. Remember the Cartoon Studio?
I remember when postcards from Buster was still on the PBS kids website, Those were the good old days... If you know who the talking sandwich from Buster's dream is, you're a legend. Also where's go George go?!
I vaguely remember some of these games from my tween years LMAO 🤣 (👀y'all RU-vid peeps should def join when he's live on Twitch sometime, hecken tons of fun.)
There was this Arthur game I played on the website when I was a kid where you ran like an ice cream shop where all the characters just ordered ice cream cones. It was fun. Legitimately way better then all of these games.
Tower of cows reminds me a lot of the game Pass the Pigs. You basically throw two small figurine pigs and try to get them to land in specific positions
I'm sad he never got to experience the S+ tier masterpiece of Go George Go, I still miss that game every day but the death of flash took it away from us
Don’t you dare diss don’t wake Kate, that’s a classic. That Arthur game has been there since forever, I place it when I was a PBS kid. Edit: I also remember playing buster lung defender, this was like 15 years ago or something. There was also one where you are an ice cream delivery boy
The monsters in DW's Bugball or whatever it's called are from a special from 2017 called "DW and the Beastly Birthday." Basically they both get stressed at DWs party and fall asleep. DW dreams of going to Ukubonga and gets crowned queen, but her friends eventually turn on her I believe (IDK I only ever saw the episode when it first came out) and Arthur dreams of being transported to the future.
The whole time I was watching this video, I was wondering when he would play the Virtual Goose game on the website, but I guess that one was taken down with the death of Flash? It was always fun to play because it had it's own tie-in episode and I loved how it felt like you were actually beating the character's scores irl.
I remember playing the Arthur games in the early 00s, and the only one of the ones in the video I remember is the don't wake kate one (the rest probably nuked with flash). I was raised wiccan so we celebrated winter solstice instead of Christmas, and the seasonal arthur game was and is still the only representation of a family celebrating winter solstice that I have ever seen.
I went to the "Resilience" page to see more about whatever it had to say and it hit me with the classic "genuinely really good advice for kids and parents"
I love how they didn’t even hide the fact that these are just mobile games like they didn’t even change the dialogue that clearly asks you to “tap” a answer
I can't believe these games are still available to play! I was obsessed with Lunch-o-Matic as a kid, I was sure it would've died with Flash or been removed off the site at some point. Thanks for the flood of memories. I'm also pretty sure I played Lung Defender as an asthmatic kid :')) 'twas still quite fun (why does Arthur's Park give me amiibo Festival vibes)
I'm glad Lunch O Matic is still there, but I was wondering why it looked so... Weird now. The background's missing and the lip sync looks way worse than it used to. Definitely not what I recall it being once.
@@user-my9ob9cd7q Nah, I went and checked a video on the original version. It's not just nostalgia goggles. The game's background was stripped and the lip sync is completely off from the original version, probably while trying to convert it to HTML5. Whoever tried to move it over did a beyond lazy job.
@@Luckyrabbit1927 Aw, that's unfortunate. I'm not surprised, though. I'm still shocked the game is available at all. This is like when I learned someone restored Whizzball of all things
Okay, the way Peebs played the party planner game where he chose everything Mr. Ratburn doesn't like is EXACTLY how this scenario would have gone down on the actual show.
There used to be an Arthur game where Buster was staring at the blinking red light on his fire detector and was promptly kidnapped by aliens. You got to design the aliens, that was rad.
My favourite Arthur game from the PBS website when I was a kid was the "make your own movie" game. You could make a horror movie where the reason it was scary was because you had to do homework. It was comedy gold and they removed it. They removed it but they kept "Don't Wake Kate". 😐
The edits were killing me on this one 🤣 (Herlock Sholmes jumpscare? lol) - it’s always fun to revisit nostalgic games; I wonder if Virtual Goose still exists somewhere out there on the Internet?? I remember as a kid they played that game in the show, but you could also play it on the website at one point. It was probably a flash game so it might have been erased from existence oof
I used to play so much on pbskids as a kid. They took away so many of the arthur games that used to be it. I only recognized 2 of them. The rest of the old ones are gone :(
I didn't know I needed this video, thank you 😭 I was thinking about the website games while watching Arthur games on the main channel this will be great 😂
Don’t wake Kate, the lunch one, and the asthma one struck the core memories. My favorite one was this alien game, but I’m not seeing it on there anymore
Don't Wake Kate was a staple of my childhood! I used to love playing it! Was low-key annoying when you died after playing several rounds. And Lung Defender! I adored that game as well, I used to play it repeatedly!
I don't think anybody else mentioned it here but the reason DWs friends look like that in the golf game is because the episode the game is based on is a huge reference/homage to "Where the Wild Things Are" and they are meant to look like the monsters in the book.
I'M SO HAPPY YOU'RE PLAYING THESE! This was LITERALLY half my childhood. It's too bad you missed out on some of the older flash-based games though. Lots of the originals were taken down, including the ice cream game (my favorite).
Actually, when I was a kid, I was diagnosed with epilepsy. When they showed me how it works, I was amazed by it and fell in love with both pathology and epidemiology. I thought that episode was really interesting (especially since the rest of my family has asthma).
I’ve played some of the games on the PBS Kids website before, best one is easily the Cat and the Hat one where you make a rollercoaster! That golf game looks kinda fun too! I might have to revisit that website again today…
The one where you enter Buster's body actually happened in an episode. I had a VHS tape of that episode as part of a collection of body/health-related episodes
Watching this makes me think: did PBG ever play the Arthur Fact or Opinion game? I remember that one used to be posted as a snarky response in Internet arguments.
Here's a fun fact Arthur Holden the voice of Mr. Ratburn was originally going to voice Arthur before the choice was made that a child was going to be the voice of Arthur.
I remember spending hours playing an Arthur ice cream game called Scoop back in the day, looks like it was removed from the site, but looking around on reddit, some people have been able to find it again. Might be some other old Arthur games there as well if you're looking for more Arthur content.
There was a whole episode of Arthur about Mr. Ratburn coming in asking if people were having cake, and they don't even give that as his option of what he wants at a party?
dude im so sad my childhood favorite arthur game wasn't included on here. There was one called dream on where buster had to collect food while avoiding clocks. it was MASSIVELY stress inducing.
I vaguely remember playing Busters Lung Defender and Lunch o Matic as a kid. Like I never thought I'd see them again and they would just remain a memory.
Ok so I read some comments to make sure I wasn't the only one who thought this, but adult Arthur is definitely Peebs. I was trying to find adult Arthur screenshots to show my siblings, and I saw someone made a comparison photo of peebs and Arthur. I can't unsee it, I don't want to unsee it. My younger brother actually introduced me to Peebs years ago, so when I found the comparison images, I immediately showed him. He started laughing because the resemblance was uncomfortable for him, rightfully so. If Arthur wasn't modeled after Peebs, I don't believe you. PBS clearly found out how much he loves Arthur, so they tried to pay respects to their number 1 fan before the show died.
I can't believe you've never played Don't Wake Kate and Lunch-O-Matic before. Those were classics! I miss the older Arthur Flash games. Those were great!
The reason dw has a crown and her friends looks like that was a callback to “where the wild things are” this was a really good episode of brother and sister. While Arthur went to the future to see how his family was doing, Dw was imagining herself away from her friends and in thee end, the two realize how much they needed each other.
bruh, I remember some of these games like Lunch-O-Matic and Don't wake Kate, but I also remember a game where you make a movie, a game where D.W Walks through a Supermarket and one where you make music using a Bike contraption.
LMFAO I played this one game with buster from back in the early 2000s and buster says “it’s your turn” I used to make my name “your turn” and I would tell my dad look he said my name. To this we we still say “it’s your turn your turn” in almost 30. Love the videos
I requested you play these. Thanks. Also there used to be a game on the PBS KIDS website where you could write a letter to Arthur but they removed it. If you want to play it maybe you could use the way back machine
I feel like a better backstory for D.W's Island Bugball would be that, since this is a work of fiction, Arthur turned her friends into monster, similar to when he turned Timmy and Tommy into statues in D.W's Name Game, and D.W has to complete a series of bugball games to turn them back.
