That’s because the Avengers was originally a team dedicated to B-tier superheroes in order to give them a boost in their solo series sales. This changed in 2004 when Spider-Man and Wolverine, among others, joined the team in order to (ironically) boost the Avengers comics sales.

@@Gemnist98 everything you say is false, the avengers were created with some of the best selling characters of their time, in fact doctor strange and spiderman were going to be founding members but jack kirby didn't want to, hence the series due to restructuring was given the Temporary or reinforcement membership to several heroes b and c but the team was always for type A

Yeah, also the pic of Human Torch used is Johnny Storm, not Jim Hammond. Johnny did join the Uncanny Avengers later on. The Young Avengers were also omitted, except the ones who were on other Avenger teams.

Stan didn't create Moon Knight. Contrary to popular belief, Stan didn't invent every Marvel character. He didn't create any classic 40s characters, I.E Captain America, OG Human Torch, Namor, OG Vision, OG Miss America, The Whizzer, etc. He also stopped writing after 1972, so any characters made after that, like Moon Knight, were for sure not made by him. He also co-created every character he has ever made, most of the time, his partners were Jack Kirby or Steve Ditko.

The Defenders too. Doctor Strange Hulk Sub-Mariner Nighthawk Valkyrie Hellcat The Silver Surfer was a Defender but I don't recall if he was also an Avenger. If he was, then he is missing from this list.

Captain America, Sub-Mariner, The Human Torch (Jim Hammond), The Winter Soldier (as Bucky) and The Original Vision were also in The Invaders.

Ouch! With a line up of so many omega level team members no villain(s) or situation would be a threat. Even Thanos and his crew from Endgame would have been stomped in seconds. Love the lineup, but even the most evil of villains deserves a fighting chance. Damn!
