Parrot Town just sent me your channel link and I am so glad she did. I love your channel and have been a long time subscriber to your mom's channel. Thank you for everything you girls do for the animals. #FlockPower 💚🙏
Oh my birb that is so cool!!!! Sorry I haven't noticed you and Parrot Town before. I am not very familiar with other bird youtubers only like 5 lol but I will check out your channels as well :) thank you for the compliments and yes my mama is the best ;) Happy Easter to you both!
I just found your channel a few days ago have learned alot will definitely be doing some of the bird pearches. I have a cockatiel and a sun conure. #birdsquad
EXCUSE ME?! Your DAUGHTER?!? I just learned you had a husband; now I’m learning you have a DAUGHTER?!? Victoria! What else aren’t you telling us?🕵🏻♀️ I hope you have a secret extra bird 🤞🏼😄 P.S. What’s your daughter’s name? I bet she’s as hilarious as you are! 😊 Oh and also- I wish I had this video before I bought my bird her $60 play gym 😰 (LOL) I will definitely be making some of these! Using vet tape is such a good idea!
Bahahaha sorry I try to be fairly open with my life but I am keeping my mouth closed on that one 😉🧐🤐🤫🐦🤭 my daughter's name is Emry! She's at that age where it's nearly impossible for her to sit down and do a video with me lol but thank you!!! Hope your lil birb loves the play gym! And omg yes they are so pricey it's ridiculous.
These were such great perch ideas! I love Animal Wonders!! I also noticed that April from Parrot Playhouse commented on your video and mentioned Parrot Town. Both great you tube channels you should take a peek! Have a great day!!
Hey Wendy!!! Yeah I was so excited to see that! I'm feeling like less of a hermit the more people I'm meeting on here 😂 neat to meet other pet RU-vidrs. Hope you have a great week Wendy!!!! 🥰
She is so awesome!!! And thank you for the compliments 😊😊 lol no she's not I just tease her about it. She's my biggest animal loving role model. 🥰 Hope you have a great week. 😀
OH MY BIRB YESSSS!!! Thank you I was hoping people would notice. Nic got me a new mic as an early birthday present. Audio has been one of my biggest issues on my channel. Thank you so very much for noticing and letting me know you noticed! Happy Easter fellow bird lover ;)
I just got a hahns macaw! Id love to enter the giveaway!! My lil hahns first parrot I've brought home, but I've worked with parrots for years at my job!! Just got the courage to become a real birb mom.
That's so cute, you all eat dinner together, including your birds!! 🦜🦜🦜🦜🦜🦜❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤🦜🦜🦜🦜🦜 Making a portable perch out of PVC is brilliant. How very cool chickie!! I'm going to make a jungle gymn out of pvc!!
I love your parrots victory and their names they are the best. I love birds I was the won that i told you about my parakeets You takecare and your feathers friend. Scott glanville
She still has that weird spot. She also puked after I gave her a bath about a week or 2 ago. We brought her to the vet but Thuy said if she pukes again then to try to get some and bring it in. Other wise they said she’s fine. And she’s still plucking. But we bought her a seed challenge thing which helped her stop plucking a bit.
How do you deal with the poop? My husband hâtes my two cockatiels because they poop when they're out of the cage. :( it's difficult Side note : I made myself a shower perch when I got my first cockatiel :) he loves it!
My husband is the EXACT same way!! Not a fan of the poop. Still finding ways to keep it under control but the biggest thing that has helped so far is finding specific locations in the house for them to poop. My birds have their cage, play gym near the cage, and the kitchen where they eat the messy foods. Keeping it contained to 2-3 places in the house has done wonders. This way I know where to lay down papers and clean. My husband won't find random poop when I get them to go to these places to do their business. Took a little bit of work to train them to go to these locations only but things are getting better. Hope this helps ya out some 😊
@@VictoriaRyann I'll try it out! I've made them a stand with an old corner table as the base. And the window perch I have has a base to it. But when they're on top of their cage and just chillin, they poop off the side. He gets upset at that. I mean... it's not all over! But I guess I get his frustration
Omg THANK YOU! It is so cool to find other birbtubers out there 😊😁😊😁 you and Parrot Playhouse are awesome! Hope you have a great week and thank you for the compliments! Huckleberry is so cutsie he deserves it all!
I love this video. You are so hilarious, remind me of myself & my partner in crime. A other huge bird lover ❤❤ .So glad I received (THIS Particular video). I want to make the 1 you said was a must to have! My Green Cheeked Conure looks just like yours he will make 4 months on the 20th of August 2023. He is just discovering everythingove my skin, lil boo boos on hands & right arm. Does not always breaks the skin, but I bruise easily. Thanks so much, ❤❤❤❤❤you.
Your birdies are so cute what is your conure wearing? And how the heck did you get him to wear It? I have a green cheek yours looks behaved I wish mine wasn’t nervous. Noises scare him easily when I take him out of his cage.
Thank you!!! It's this one www.flightquarters.com/bird-diapers/product/blue-jean-baby-flightsuit.html and at first he wasn't a big fan of it but every time I'd put it on, I brought him in a calmer room with lots of treats around. Baby talked him through the whole process and he did great 😊 he would pick at it a lot for a few days but I'd take him outside right after putting it on so he'd be distracted and not pay attention to chewing the harness.
Love your videos. Can we ask you questions. I've had green cheek conjures for almost 10 years , the 2 I got were a breading pair, but they never mated. The male joey died recently, he had bad seizures, but it killed him very quickly. The female is called Nora and was unaffected emotionally when joey passed. Weve noticed recently that Nora is plucking her feathers around her neck, its quite worrying. We have been trying to train her to come out of her cage, but we have to wait till 8pm, as we have 4 cats and they go to bed. Nora has ventured out once, but not for long, as she seems to want to sleep after 8pm. Any tips would be great. Im in the UK btw.
I love your channel, your very relatable and down to earth when it comes to raising feathered friends. You dont shame or try to fend off others from wanting to adopt a pet into their lives and give very good and well articulatated information. You have a very fun vibe and a have a positive message. Thanks for all you do keep up the good work😀
Bahahahaha well many do say I talk rather fast 😂 funny you mention that clock because it has made me so stinking mad lately. I'm about to pitch it in the back yard and set it on fire 😀🔥👍
HAPPY EASTER BIRBSQUAD!!! Hope you all get to spend time with your families. All the info u need will be in my description box and Nic (my husband) brought to my attention that I apparently do not know math nor plumber lingo lol... for the training perch, I mentioned you can convert the stand 3/4" to a larger sized pipe for more stability. I'm a ding dong and said you can convert to 1/2". If you want to go larger, you need to go up to 1" not a 1/2". Pay attention to fractions in school kids cause this is what happens when you don't. LOL. Also real quick again for the giveaway... Starts now and all you need to do is subscribe to my channel, animal wonders, and comment anything under this video for your name to be forever in Huckleberry's home!!! Good luck contest ends Sunday May 5th at 6:00 pm EST. Love ya burbs :) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-wPXMm7ylMc0.html for more info on Huckleberry #beaversquad
Hi Victoria! I just found you and am really enjoying learning about my green cheek conure that I just got 2 days ago. I had a sun conure years ago that I loved so much so now I finally have a new baby and am feeling so frustrated! He won’t let me near him without a big fight, but once I get him out in a towel he loves his head and beak scratched and closes his eyes and is very calm. I just can’t remember how to get to the point where he isn’t trying to attack me every time I reach into his cage for him. I have cats and dogs in the house so I can’t just leave his cage open and have to reach inside it to physically interact with him. Please help!! I watched your video on it but I wanted to see what you suggest for one that calms down once he’s in a towel. Thanks so much!!❤️
Half an inch is smaller than 3/4 of an inch. One out of 2 < 3 out of 4. If you have 3 pieces of a pie that you cut into 4 pieces, then you have more than you would if you had 2 pieces of the same pie.
I don't think it was this video but you said somewhere to find the thing ur bird likes most and use that as ur training treat. My boy eclectus Beau loves kisses. Training is going really well and I can get him to fly from room to room just for kisses. He has even started going up to my shoulder. Something I hadn't pushed, I knew he'd get there if he wanted to. My girl Lexi....still breeding season so training not so good with her but she will step up to a stick and I can move her with out me getting bitten and less stress for her
Your measurements are all off. I tried this and it gave me a headache. I had to go back to the store to get more pipe. Next time could you not just estimate how much pipe you will need? I had to fix all of the measurements.
I have a 3 month old quaker and her name is Gabby. I want to make her own play gyms so is there anyway you can put the directions on the web page or send them to Me??
Hi Victoria I really want to get the parrot car stand but it is no longer available on the link you provided. Please can you tell where else can I buy it from?
Here from Parrot Town, 😘 love your babies. A thought I had in pvc play gym building...once upon a time ago I learned stand alone basket ball hoops had water filled in the base, I feel water is impractical but sandbox sand is sold in bulk pretty cheap and weighs things down as well, sand bags are used to balance hot air balloons. Anyways do you think adding sand to the base of the pvc tube gym could help keep it balanced and secure?
Hey girl!!! Thank you 😊 well I asked my husband since he knows more about figuring out things like this! He said it would help a little and definitely wouldn't hurt to try.. but more than likely not going to do much. Laying a sandbag over it would do a whole lot more than putting it in the tubes.
@@VictoriaRyann absolutely, wouldn't have it any other way!!😂😂 Chip loves going out with us. She's a Jenday on my channel if you ever want to see her.😘
Oh my birp!!!! I love pobbles, sorry if I misspelled his name. I just got a quaker 3 months of age and he Is of blueish green color and his name is Beetlejuice. I feed him pellets, vegetables, fruits etc.... I was wondering what your routine is for pobbles in breakfast, lunch, dinner and in between. I have so many questions although I've researched for about a year on its care. I just love your channel and your babies looks so happy. Thank you in advance and good luck everyone
Ahhhh thank you!!! I flipping love the name Beetlejuice for a Quaker oh my birb is that fitting 😂 well for mine personally, I give them about 2 tbs each of majority veggies and pellets in the morning. I'll toss a piece of fruit in at the bottom as a little foraging treat. For dinner I give them 2tbs fruits veggies and some seeds mixed since they got their nutrition for the day in the morning. Throughout the day they will get nutriberries as training treats and of course the occasional snacks my kids sneak around and give them 🙄😅 but as far as meals go it's breakfast and dinner. Thank you again and good luck to you and your lil birb 😊
Thanks for the reply sorry took long to say that....my pipes in the wall burst and I got flooded but all is well. So when your home do you leave your birds out to wonder all day. Some people do. I leave Beetlejuices cage open and he goes in and out all over it’s cage and rarely glides down. Daily, I occasionally to bond with him, take it with me and give it love and talk to him and try to train him. Is that okay or should he be out and about. I don’t want a caged bird and I’m home all day because of my spinal injury so he’s not alone. It’s why my husband got him for me for our ten year anniversary. And are all types of perches good for him I read some give arthritis. I have so far just one grapevine perch but it’s big and in cage. Thank you and sorry for the paragraph lol I like the most of all parrot owners.
@@aliceinwonderland6208 Thank you your comments made me smile 😊😊 well as far as your bird being out all day this is what my personal experience has been... I used to let Yoshi and Popples be out all day and do whatever they want. I've found by doing this they didn't listen to me, harness trainings were more difficult, and they were more destructive. I thought I was doing the right thing because like you, I didn't want to cage my birds. But I've noticed it's quality over quantity. Of course my birds hated the harness because any other time they got to do as they please and didn't want something tethering them. Now, I take them out of the cage for breakfast, I'll train them for a few minutes, sit and talk to them while I plan my day, and they go back to their cage while I got some things done in the house. They still have toys in there and I'm constantly talking to them and bringing them treats when I come in the room. Then a couple hours later I'll take them out and let them get some exercise and interact together. I've seen great results with this over letting them do whatever they want.
@@aliceinwonderland6208 as far as the perches go I'd say as long as you got a variety they'll be fine. The main perch that they sleep on I recommend a more natural wood textures over the cement ones or dowel rods. Since they will be on that one the majority of the time. But overall as long as there plenty of different ones to choose from and the back and front nails almost touch each other sleeping one that would be fine. That is the sweetest that your husband got you a bird for your anniversary ❤️ sounds like you've got a keeper 😉 hope your injury heals quickly you're in my thoughts and prayers 🥰🥰🥰 oh and sorry for my long paragraph too. 😂😂
I think it's absolutely disgraceful, trying to sell Ridiculous priced PLASTIC-PIPING, Sorry but advertising that product at such a high price, is nothing short of-Robbery, I could but a Serious amount of pipe+fittings for that!!?
I built my cockatoo a play stand from scratch a few months ago. The total I spent after getting the PVC, fixtures, and PVC cutting tool was roughly $45. Although it was a lot of fun, cutting and assembly took me quite a while. I had to play around with the design and have my bird test it until I found a sturdy design. After that experience I now realize that with the cost of supplies + labor, some sellers really do have very reasonable prices. They also make them look very pretty and colorful. I didn't even use grip tape or add bowls! So yeah, it seemed outrageous until I actually made one myself.
Hey again! How do you discipline Yoshi? Our GC has been acting up and thus has been given more “cage” time. I know he is just being a bird, but he has been more aggressive and not minding lately. Im thinking he is getting into his version of terrible twos, as he is about a year old now. Any thoughts on if putting him in his cage a little earlier would be a good idea? I dont want him thinking his home (meaning cage) is a punishment. Thanks! 😀
Oh hey Steve!!! Hope you and your family are well. Well here's the deal, I've tried multiple different forms of discipline with Yoshi and here's what has worked best with us. Obviously you don't want to jeopardize your bond and trust with him but he still needs rules. Still keep hands only for positives. Carry treats in your pocket you're gonna need them lol. If you're off work on a weekend, I'd spend a Saturday working with him. In the morning when you go to take him out, have him step on your arm, perch, whatever you usually use to get him out of the cage. This establishes the authority that it's you who's letting him come out. Not him deciding and controlling the situation. Play with him for a little bit get some exercise whatever your typical morning routine is. Then put him back in the cage for a couple hours or so. The goal here is practicing your authority and letting him know he does not dictate when and where what he gets to do and go. I never let mine fly around the house naked and wild all day long anymore lol. The time you spend with him is quality not quantity. If you haven't already, start considering some simple target training. Everytime he lands on a perch that you are ok with him being on, let him bite off a piece of nutriberry or whatever he likes. Then practice the next target being your shoulder, arm, whatever you want him to land on you when you ask him to fly to you. Once he does something you like, treat him. Let's say he's on your lamp and you don't want him to be, come up with a noise that would only be used for disciplining. Like a shhhh sound for example. Do the noise, approach him assertively but not alarming and find a way to deter him off the lamp without using hands. Once he's off and lands on a nearby perch that you want him on, treat him. A lot of positive reinforcement, being assertive calmly, and practicing your authority is what's going to help! I wouldn't use the cage as a form of discipline unless he's just being Mr. Nippy pants and simply needs a break at his cage. Hope this helps you and if any of it ends up working or not working let me know!!
