This is so impressive - it's so hard to sum up feelings about books like this, well done! My fave read of 2023 was Adrift by Brideau which I don't hear nearly enough people talking about!! a near-future story of a woman who wakes up alone on a sailboat in Haida Gwaii BC with no memory of who she is. There is just a note warning her to not look back. It follows her as she tries to figure out why her memory was wiped. Set against the backdrop of climate change, it's a clever and fresh take on the typical amnesia story. And the author works in climate policy so the projection of 12 years into the future feels all too real.

Omg the way I screamed at Gabrielle Zefin 😂 thank you so much for supporting Palestine and acknowledging problematic authors!! So many booktubers chose a book over their humanity 🤷🏻‍♀️.

I have seen Tananarive Due's bibliography and I am gravitated to read her books. 📚

so sad about 'tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow' since I heard it's v good :( but thank you for not being silent about it! also LOVED "how to keep house...", never thought a self help book would make me cry tears of relief haha

I'm still waiting for the "character growth" in Dating Dr. Dil. That's one of the most misogynist books I've ever read. The book makes jokes about violence against women, and it's supposed to be a romcom?!?!?
