“Mexican Gothic” is the answer I give when someone asks me for my favorite book and we don’t have time to talk about how that’s such an impossible question 😂
"Nice and good?" 33:46 Gregory literally has lines that read like a serial stalker!!! He thinks he knows what's best for her, so he ignores her many, many, many "nos" in word and action. He ties her up hides her AGAINST HER WILL! Neither nice or good.
I enjoyed house on cerulean sea.. started irregular witches and was like hey it feels the same but I ended up DNFing at the last 100 pages. I DNFed legends and lattes. I have figured out I do not like cozy books. These aren’t the only ones either.

How many 🎉 can I give this announcement? Your recommendations have helped me enjoy books I may have overlooked and can't wait to see your impact on the books you bring to the world. Will definitely pre-order!
“Couldn’t decide if I loved it or hated it, but I keep thinking about it” is exactly how I feel about Eileen by Ottessa Moshfegh (writer of My Year of Rest and Relaxation). Such a disturbing and unsatisfying book, but a fascinating look into a disturbed psyche. I kept expecting it to be more explicitly queer, though haha
Glad you told us we can mention books you should keep!!!! Because I think Ifueko discusses adult themes in Raybearer but just in a YA setting! and in my opinion the sequel gets even better! Hope you read it 😸
i actually picked up against the loveless world right after pachinko and it really satisfied that emptiness i had after pachinko, i actually liked it better. then i read Dust Child, which is also a historical fiction spanning out over several time periods, dealing with complex family relations and war. Dust Child might have been my favourite?? So def recommend that one if you liked any of the other two books! ❤
ok so all im asking is if its truly ok if i start reading a new book while im in the middle of another one? ToT (truly in a crisis here reading fourth wing)
@@meraribonilla9561like this lady that recommending books literally said in a book unhaul that she only reads from people of colour and every book by a white author she is getting rid of
The controversy by the way happened a year ago and the author writes about these subject material with such grace and admiration and shows that children need to be protected it doenst matter what ur skin colour or gender or mental state we all deserve a chance to be loved by a parent
IDK what happened to my reply. I explained that I did my research into it and it personally made me uncomfortable how he was using a horrible part of Native American history and slapping a rose colored filter over it. Mynameismarines has a TikTok going over the issues she found with it, and I think it's worth a watch. Not saying that no one should read it, just that this is worth looking into before you do.
